"It seems fairly obvious that a main goal for many candidates is to move past the national trauma of the Fitzgerald Administration. Beyond this initial goal, if elected, what do you hope to achieve during your time as Minister?"

"My main goal is to ensure that the Ministry has a strong foundation in order to succeed. We truly can't move on and expand our goals until this is done. To start, I want to re-evaluate each department and determine where it's focus needs to be in order to best support and serve our citizens. From there, I would like to to put into power, strong, experienced, and dedicated individuals in each of these departments that will be able to run them efficiently. Once we get these departments running and focused on their established target, then I think we can start to expand our goals and vision.

Something else that I think is important is to clearly establish a system of checks and balances to prevent anyone within our government from gaining too much power, as we have seen happen. I would like to give more power to the Wizengamot to call the Minister choices into question and decide if they need to seize power from them."

"If I could list everything I want to do as Minister, I might as well get lost in a handful of thoughts and then not make a cohesive statement, so... personally, my goal always has, and always will be, progress. Change. I feel as if the Ministry has been struggling with the concept of leading by example. Internationally, I wouldn't be surprised if we're being laughed at, especially after what happened. My aim is to change that. I want to push every single department into making great strides in their zone of influence. After all, I do believe in the concept of the weakest link; the Ministry is only as powerful as its least influential workers. Now, do not assume this means that I am calling the Ministry weak; I'd get offended by that remark myself, seeing how I worked in it and will continue to do so, now that he whom I refuse to name is gone. I am merely stating that without making progress, there isn't going to be a strong Ministry."

"It's clear that there must have been loopholes or an appalling lack of laws that allowed the former Minister to commit the acts that he did. I would see that my administration looks at what's in place and do some heavy revisions-- even if it means limiting my own power- to ensure that something of that magnitude-- such a gross abuse of power, with no checks of any kind-- never happens again."

"I also hope to introduce parameters that prevent any singular Minister in the future to abuse their power. We have seen how destructive it can be and, as someone who was privy to Minister Fitzgerald's full intentions, I can say with confidence that the destruction we witnessed wasn't even the full extent of what was achievable. We cannot risk that again and thus regulating the position of Minister is a priority. I also hope to achieve more emancipation for those who have both a wizard and a being as a parent as well as emancipation for the beings themselves. It seems wrong, to pull an example from thin air, that we uphold and admire veelas for their beauty but deny them rights that we give so easily to wizards. We are in this small world together; us being divided benefits nobody. As an ongoing Head of a Department, I know how stressful running one can be and thus my ministry would pledge to support the departments even further which, in turn, allows for greater strides to be made for our world. If all of these plans mean constant checks on Department heads and myself as Minister, polls to see what rights beings would want and anything else needed to restore magical Britain to what it once was prior to the previous minister, the ministry I'd head would pledge to do so dutifully."

“There are still voters out there that supported the Fitzgerald Administration. How do you respond to them?"

I think it depends on how these people are choosing to show their support. If they are doing so peacefully and expressing their beliefs and ideas, I think the best course of action would be to educate and try to sway these people onto our side. However, if they are choosing to follow the path of violence, aggression, and intolerance shown by Fitzgerald himself, then action is needed. I think a specific task force of Aurors dedicated to bringing those who choose to go down this path in to stand trial for the crimes they committed. But, hopefully through the reversal of his policies and righting his wrongs, his followers will see that our new path will be better for them as well."

"I don't. Believe it or not, one of the better responses in such scenarios is not acting upon others' behavior; sure it won't discourage them or anything, but are you really any better if you ostracize some for believing what they do? I naturally do invite them to see the wrongs he has done, but if they still refuse, then I welcome them to not support me or anyone I may want in power. Now if things turn violent, self-defense is still a necessity, and such people will be dealt with accordingly. But those who can refrain from such action can be left as they are. Time does mend all wounds, at least in my own opinion."

"I believe they should be looked at carefully. How much did they support the Fitzgerald Administration's ideals? Are they casual followers who had been looking for an outlet to vent their frustration and hope for a radical change? Or are they extreme and devout followers who wish to recreate what is now gone? To ignore them and cast them away, in my view, defeats the objective of spreading equality. I'm by no means saying we should pander to them but to treat them in a similar way they have treated half-breeds for the past four years, whilst just, will only create further issues. Much like Julius, I believe the Aurors should create a force within themselves to bring down some of Alistair's more notorious followers and allies. As for the rest of them? I can but implore them to reconsider their view. What is it about half-breeds that enrages them so? The ministry should be willing to give out resources to educate people; I say we educate them and go from there. Hatred is caused by fear and a lack of empathy - education can help in both of those regards. That being said, I suggest that Aurors be more vigilante during this time if it were to happen; crime may be high as is but some will refuse to educate themselves and must be dealt with accordingly to whatever crimes they commit."

"A grave look crosses his face. "I think that those who supported the Fitzgerald administration did so out of a place of fear... or out of not understanding those who are different from them. The year is 2042. I hope that supporters of Fitzgerald work on educating themselves and understand that moving forward, such intolerance won't be acceptable on a national stage any further."

"Having spent many years as the Head of International Magical Cooperation, this is one that I have had much experience in. Our reputation has been tarnished and many ties have been cut. We need to show the international community that we are back and ready to mend these relationships. We need to show them that we are willing to support them on issues with in their countries, in hopes that should we fall into a rough patch, they will do the same as our allies."

"As an ICW representative, I'd have loved for our nation to make incredible bonds on an international level. Additionally, as a former French Ministry worker, I do believe that other countries do have a deep desire to work with us. But after what happened... I'd not be surprised if they much rather avoid any contact with us. I'll admit, it was very, very difficult to work in the ICW during the now-previous administration. But now that it's over, I want to push international relations more than ever. And regardless of my election as Minister or not, that will be something of a personal goal."

"Whilst I can't boast the roles of ICW or Head of International Magical Cooperation, I do believe that we do have some presence remaining on the international stage. Is it a favourable one? I wouldn't hold my breath but that isn't to say we can't make it into something positive. I think through showing how dedicated we are to change and how we are the entire opposite everything the last Minister stood for will speak loudly for those watching from afar. Putting an end to Minister Fitzgerald's isolationist-esque policies is paramount and, from there, we can aid other countries in anyway we can so that not only we can prove we're serious about rebuilding our reputation but also so we too have aid available."

"It's known that our international relations became quite strained during the Fitzgerald administration. I think that repair of relationships needs to happen first-- inviting international figureheads back to our country to see the work we're doing to repair our nation. Re-establish trust where necessary, and move forward collectively."

Question 4

"Please describe what sort of relationship your administration would have with Hogwarts school, and the Headmaster."

"Hogwarts has successfully been running almost entirely as its own sovereign entity for many years, and I see no reason why that needs to change now. How I see it, the Department of Magical Education should be there to support Hogwarts, both it's students and staff, rather than to dictate everything that should be happening there. The Department should be there as a resource to the school in as many ways as possible. Of course, the department should work to develop standards of education to help determine what is being taught, but I think that it needs to be done in conjunction with the Headmaster and the staff, as they are the ones that it will be ultimately be implementing it."

"Given that I have been the Head of the Department of Magical Education for the past few years now, I can assure everyone that my administration would share the same amount of closeness that I have established in my position now. Under my control, the Department has worked independently from the wishes of the previous Minister as to keep Hogwarts' education sovereignty intact. At most, the largest thing I myself has pushed is the teaching and education of equality - something Professor Chevalier feels strongly about. My administration would retain the link between Hogwarts and the Ministry, the link of support, advice and protection needed to ensure that Hogwarts can flourish. We would, by no means, interfere with any plans of Professor Chevalier's unless it is seen fit to, but rather encourage a curriculum that emphasises our ideals moving forward; equality for all, tolerance and acceptance."

"The Ministry and Hogwarts have had a serene relationship for many years on end, and I see absolutely no reason to disturb this. Even during the time of him who I refuse to name, they stayed strong and continued on, to which I applaud them for doing. If elected, I'd love to see this relationship continue on, and if it is possible, I'd love to give them aid to make more things possible. I know that Quidditch is still a big thing, with many looking forward to playing professionally. One of the things I'd love to do is ensure new gear for the school teams. I'd list more things I want to do, but I'd take up way too much time talking, and thus I'll leave it at that."

"I believe that Hogwarts should function mostly independently. We have a Department of Education for a reason. I believe that the best way for the Ministry and Hogwarts to coexist is through that Department. Assuming the Head of the department is up to snuff, I see no reason why the Headmaster and I couldn't exist as good friends, who can ask things of the other when needed. No need for Ministry interference."

"I feel like it is almost impossible to choose just one, as each had something special to offer. I would have to say my mother for her determination and her dedication to her people, Draco Rookwood for his fearlessness and confidence, and Bailey Jeon for his resilience and caring nature. Each had qualities that made their administration unique and successful. They each achieved great things, and I want to bring forth their ideas and skills out at various times, to assist in the wide variety of issues that come up daily in this position."

"This is rather cliche of me, but personally, I gain great inspiration from Ministers Bailey Jeon, Estella Tyrrell, and... Julius Tyrrell. Yes, I did mention you, Julius, because you are a man of vision and I was rather proud I lost to you in 2034, because you were a leader and you were a visionary that we needed. Bailey Jeon was of course the first Minister who was also a Half-Breed like myself, which greatly gives me confidence that it can be done. And Estella Tyrrell, being a female Minister, also gives me confidence in myself, but she was a strong woman and an amazing leader too. If I may say so myself, the British Ministry has had some incredible leaders, and everyone running this year... will most definitely be an inspirational leader deserving of a place in the books."

"I look to Draco Rookwood, personally. He dealt with a number of different issues during his administration, and he faced them head-on, in a deliberate, fair and straight-forward manner. He knew how to delegate tasks to those beneath him, and and kept the Ministry a well-oiled machine."

"I think the Minister that inspires me the most would be Bailey Jeon. His Ministry was, should've been and can be seen as a symbol of hope for equality and unity across the magical world. Even he himself stands as a symbol of that; hope for half-breeds, hope for British-Asians and he shows that being a werewolf doesn't limit you. I think the way he dealt with things and presented himself as a very competent leader despite being on the younger side is what inspires me; it tells me you don't need to be a certain age to achieve greatness. I'd like my ministry to also be a symbol of hope - a turning point in what has been a bad few years. Others who stand out to me are Estella Tyrrell and, of course, Julius for similar reasons of being adept leaders that I hope I can emulate."
