Ouch...that one hurt. Tears would prick at her eyes....but she wouldn't let Faith see. Her voice would be more quiet and sad. "Yes it is...I'll show you." She would hold her clothes tight, and qiuckly head from them room, a sad frown on her face, determined to make the shower before crying.

She rolled her eyes, going back to her book. The idea that Melinda might be a Ravenclaw... especially when everyone always thought she should be one was actually sort of amusing to her. The kid was a Hufflepuff. And she was kidding herself if she thought differently.

She frowned. This was a little... kiddish. But, Melinda was still a kid. Sort of. She shrugged, and leaned back in bed, wondering what would await her downstairs... Charity hadn't come home since she'd moved out. But she was probably home today....

The little bird would swoop in, drop the letter then tilt it's head on it's side, waiting to be rewarded.
Hey Charity, it's Kimi!
OMG we haven't spoken in like forever! How are you? I hope you're good! I really miss you. Hogwarts has been so weird this year without you. There's so much I want to talk to you about and I really wanna catch up and see how you are. Anytime you're free and passing through Hogsmeade or something I'd really love to meet up.
Okay, let me know, I can't wait to see you! Lots of love, from Kimi :D

She'd been curled up in her bed when the owl had flown in. She was startled at first, wondering if maybe it was for Charity or something, but it the letter had her name on it. Confused, she opened it up, and when she saw it was from Oscar, she teared up a little. She knew she missed him, and she would continue to miss him, and it felt so good to hear from him, even if it was just a few short words. It was good to be reassured that he didn't still hate her... something she'd wondered from his lack of contact. What were they doing with him at this camp that was keeping him so busy? Surely they let him sleep? Or at least eat meals? Or rest? Seriously? Did he actually have no time... or was he just saying that? She shoved the doubt away, and tried to focus on what she could know to be true-- Oscar still cared. She wiped the tears that were welling in her eyes away as she put her book down, pulled out some parchment, and started a reply.
She would smile. "Why don't you start making them and I'll find her ok?"

She knew that likely meant Faith was down at the lake, which was against the grounding terms set by Dad. She nodded, keeping a relatively smooth expression on her face. She gave Melinda a smile and headed downstairs to the kitchen.
An owl dropped in (after Charity had a chance to tell Melinda her news) Melinda, I was wondering if you could paint something special for a friend of mine. She's in the hospital right now, but she loves lilies. Do you think you could paint lilies for me, maybe in a field or somewhere in nature? Thank you, Mary
She would pop her head up after seeing the owl deliver the message. "...is it from Oscar?"

Several emotions had gone through her head. Happiness at hearing from her... surprise with this whole queen thing... touched and honored that Jaina wanted here there for the coronation... excitement that she might get to see her again in a few weeks. She looked up, Melinda's question breaking through her reverie. "No."
She would nod. It felt...tense in the room. She hated how it was between her and her sisters...but had no idea how to make it better. "So...can we maybe go visit Ash's before school starts? I'd like to paint some, and Faith could get some new books to read during the school year...?"

"Ash went back to Hogwarts already," she started. She paused. "But I don't see any reason why we can't go." That was... almost her house now, too.
