Melinda Bagman - Magizoologist Send Me an Owl! - 19:38, July 6, 2016 (UTC) She'd blush a little. "I...well I did but...I came in after riding and showered and changed and...didn't really check again. It was like...dinnertime and they get upset if you're late for dinner."

"I mean..." She paused, trying to figure out how to word this without offending Melinda. "I'll take a look and... definitely try to give you my opinion but..." she looked at Melinda hesitantly. "I mean - and I know that your situation and mine are very different - but whenever my Dad was... being... himself, it was always just easier, and... slightly more peaceful to agree with him, or just... not kick up a fuss."

Melinda Bagman - Magizoologist Send Me an Owl! - 19:38, July 6, 2016 (UTC) She'd look at Mal, not quite understanding where she was going...was she saying she'd just...agree with Melinda? Then realization would dawn on her face. Mal was comparing her dad and Charity. "Yeah...maybe but..." She'd trail off not sure how to finish the sentence. She'd always seen Charity in the mother role...more than her own mother ever had been. She...tried to act like a sister and not a daughter to her but...they seemed to fall back into those roles without really noticing. She didn't treat Charity like...someone should treat their mom but...Charity did tend to treat her like...she was her child. The realization would shock her. She'd sort of...known that but, actually seeing that's what was happening...that was something else. She'd be silently dumbstruck.

"I'm not saying that Charity's abusive," she said quickly. "Obviously your sister loves you, and... well I'm not even sure I can say that of my Dad. I just..." she trailed off, pretty sure she'd been no help at all.

"Yeah...and even before that when we were growing up...she was always so much older and basically took care of me when she was home because mom and dad were always gone." She'd shake her head. "...but what's important is that's why we fight all the time. She...treats me and thinks of me...like a daughter and I...treat her and think about her like a sister...like I would you or Faith. I...don't like her prying and things because...that's not what a friend...a sister does. She doesn't like my disrespect because...that's not what a daughter does." She'd take another moment to try to catch her brain up, and put her hand to her head. It was good she was sitting or she would have fallen over.

So it would make sense that she would feel that sort of role for you, because if she doesn't play it... who would? It would probably be a bit irresponsible of her to just leave you to your own devices, right? When she has legal responsibilities to you?"

She got really sick at the end of the last term, and..." She frowned. "She still doesn't look right. So we're going into St. Mungo's next week to get her checked out. Amy's been really busy with work and stuff, so we barely ever see her anymore."

"She said she was just like... really nauseous and throwing up at the end of the term. She thought it was just stress from taking NEWTs. But..." she frowned and lowered her voice. "I'd agree with her, but she's kind of put on weight? It's... weird."

She knew Charity and Ash had to have...because of Aria, but that didn't necessarily mean she wanted to know either. Maybe that went back to the mother thing, because she didn't think she'd care about talking with Faith or Mal about sex. She'd shrug. "I...guess it could have been stress? I mean...does she eat a lot when she gets stressed?"

"She's letting me come to the appointment, though she did say that was because she didn't want to have to relay everything back to me. So..." she shrugged. She wasn't going to force Mal to ask her sister about her sex life...or her last period, but just in case... "...but no. I'm just here to hang out with you this week. We can do whatever...I'm just happy to be away from my house for a bit, and spend my time with you."
