Niks and Morgan

Niks isn't really feeling the splash party as much now that it's later in the day. At first she was excited with the whole set-up and all the fun games, but after hanging out with Avery the whole day and trying the obstacle course, she's a bit tired from the whole shebang. On top of that, the swimsuit Avery helped her buy in Hogsmeade is cute but she's conscious about showing so much skin, certain that she probably doesn't look that good in it. She found a quiet spot off to the side a while ago, and is now drying her hair with her wand as she watches the festivities from afar. Maybe she'll rejoin her friends later to play some of the parlor games.

Coming down to the party was not his idea, okay? It's purely business - what with the whole Vilja situation, he'd come down with Tristan and Iseult to see whether she'd also attended and, of course, to spike the punch. Though they'd barely managed to pour a glass in before Déonté had wandered over; maybe tomorrow. Add on the fact that he's a le Fey and pasty white and therefore burns like paper, and he really doesn't want to be here. Even if the obstacle course was lowkey pretty fun. He's wandering back up to the gardens, where he's agreed to meet his cousins later on; his shoulders are all red and his hair's beginning to dry curly.

Niks spots Morgan walking nearby and smiles. She hasn't seen him practically the whole day mostly because whenever she'd want to go over, Avery would coincidentally drag her in the opposite direction. She had planned to find him when she returned to the party, but now she guesses that she doesn't have to anymore. "Morgan!" she calls out, "You're leaving?"

When he hears Niks' voice, he's obviously delighted - seeing her always makes his day better - but he's also kind of nervous; the last thing he needs is Tristan or Iseult approaching him with a vial of potion in their hand. "Yeah, it's, er- not really my thing," he smiles, walking up to her. He's wearing a t-shirt and shorts, but the expanse of his collarbone and all down his arms are pink with sunburn, and he holds his arms out to show her. "I'm too pale for things like this."

When she sees the sunburn, she almost laughs. Of course Morgan would get sunburnt, he's like a vampire, but she still hopes that it won't be too painful. "Are you okay?" she says, frowning.

He almost laughs when he sees how she frowns, the little dimple in her forehead. "Of course I am," he nods, arms dropping back to his sides. "It's only sunburn. I'll just Episkey it later." Then he notices that she's in a swimming costume and tries not to go red and says, "I take it you're, er- here with Avery?"

Niks nods. "Mhmm." she confirms, "She made me go on the obstacle course with her and I fell off maybe a dozen times before giving up, so now I'm tired." She laughs a little, before getting a little shyer. "I was planning on going back to look for you, though. I miss hanging out."

"Ah, so that's what all the shrieking was," he smiles; the course had been teeming with people all falling into the water and laughing so loud you could probably hear it from the castle. Actually, he thinks he'd seen Avery at one point. "Yeah, we're, um... well, Tristan was trying to spike the punch, but I think Déonté might have caught him. And I don't know where Iseult's ended up. Probably fixing her hair." The remark about missing hanging out makes him smile even more, though a little shyly; they see each other almost every day and yet he still misses her.

"I hope Tristan doesn't get in too much trouble again. I mean, I know you guys have mysterious ways – " She exaggerates the two words since until now she can't fathom how they've found all these secret passages around the school. " – to escape detention, but still. It would be nice to not have anything to escape from." She looks up at him. "Do you have anywhere to go?"

"Um, no?" he says, looking around as one last final check to see if his cousins are about to come barging in, before returning with a grin. "I was just going to wait for them near the greenhouse. Do you have anywhere to go?"

Seeing as the weather was warm and nice, Harvey decided he'd do his homework on the shore of the Black Lake. Typically the place unnerved him and he refused to go near it without someone with him but, in the summer light, there was something less threatening about it and he happily scrawled away on the parchment as he tried to make sense of different transfiguration spells in all varying manners. Lost in concentration, he was oblivious to most of his surroundings bar the occasional glance across the lake's shoreline.
