Underneath the foyer of the Citadel, there seems to be an entrance to the catacombs of the Citadel. If you don't divulge too deeply, you can find Sabrina's Quarters. But you hear voices. Disembodied and broken — but audible nonetheless. The ghosts of dead le Fey ancestors seem to whisper to you, encouraging you to divulge further into the maze of the catacombs. You can hear each drop of water, see each spiderweb strand, and feel the presence of the ghosts on the back of your neck. 'It's not too late to turn back?' you think to yourself, unless you press on...

Damn, Adele had been right - being summoned by Sabrina is one of the scariest things in the world. Reuben's heart is kind of racing when he makes his way down into the Catacombs, footsteps echoing and multiplying, and he spots Sabrina at the far end. "You called for me," he says as he approaches, standing tall.
The change in tone makes his eyebrows shoot up, and his arms fold across his chest as he ponders his reply. "Honestly? I'm hoping to stay here and regain my strength, and then I'm going to go out and get revenge. Alone."

He sighs - as much as he wants to keep Adele's family out of it, he knows how valuable the power of Sabrina and Tessa would be to his efforts. Still, it wouldn't be good for anyone if they all ended up dead. "I know who killed Adele, by name and number. I can track him down-- I'm good at that stuff. And like I said - I'm going it alone."

The argument makes him smirk, and he lets out of a huff of amusement as he looks to the side, eyes tracing the carvings in the wall. "'Fraid not, ma'am," he says. "You're not expendable and from what I've seen of Soren, he's a washed-out addict who'll get us both killed. I'd rather go it alone."
She scoffs. "Soren has been with Adele far longer than you. He's valuable in piecing together the puzzles regarding who she might have been seeing and what she might have been doing. Also he's been clean for years, so the things you've seen seem to be outdated. He's also now the longest serving member of the parade, and therefore the most qualified." She counters.

The inside of Reuben's cheek turns red and blossoms blood as his teeth clamp around it at Sabrina's first remark - there is so much she doesn't know - but he keeps his mouth shut, instead nodding dumbly because it isn't worth correcting her over. "If you say so. I'd trust Vynter as far as I could throw him, so if I come back alone --" His voice trails off as he hunches his shoulders in a not my fault motion.

"I don't care about a reward, Sabrina," he says, shaking his head. The only reward he'd like is one he can never receive. "I just want to get even. And if Soren can help me with that-- I'll take your word for it."

"She had her reasons, clearly," he shrugs, voice careless and unconcerned. "Sadly she isn't here to tell us. But it doesn't matter, I'm here now. And-- I'll pay my debts to her, and I'll do all I can to help you and Tessa. Her family, that's it-- no drunken potioneers or missing thieves or any other crazy Paraders who all inevitably go missing because their egos get too big. I'm not serving the Parade, Sabrina, I'm serving the Belleroses. You come under that title."
She rolls her eyes, thinking about how she’s been doing this job too long. “Beautiful. poetic, really. But are you going to answer my question? Who were you to my wife?” She asks, her voice steely and hard.

"Reuben Ellis Cole." The words have to be almost forced out through a closed-up throat. Shit. He'd promised himself he wouldn't admit it, wouldn't let the disguse down so early. "You're telling me the great Sabrina Le Fey can't figure out a simple anagram?" And with that he turns away and walks off, down the corridors of the Citadel, looking for that drunken idiot.
