🌱 Little Awkward Gardener 🌱
Colette is a current third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft. Born a half-banshee and raised by a full-banshee mother, she definitely lives a bit of a unique life. Although easily flustered and very much shy, she's a sweet friend to have... Also a good friend to have if you need help with homework.

When it comes to socializing, Colette is one of the most awkward people at it. It's not like she doesn't want to make friends or talk to people. She just always gets flustered and shy when talking. Even with her family, listening is just so much easier. Having a large group of friends or people around is always Colette's favorite rather than just her and someone else. It goes less noticed if she's only watching the conversation unfold rather than being a part of it. I mean, she's been known to break awkward silence with plant facts.
When not hanging out with anyone, which is pretty frequent with her, Colette can often be found in the library. Ever since a young age, the girl has had a thirst for knowledge. Reading about something she's never known before is such a bubbly feeling inside. Although not always excited on having to do complicated spells in class, learning about them and their background is always fun. If History of Magic wasn't such a hard class, maybe it'd be on her favorites list as well.
A weakness that lies in Colette is how easily frustrated she can get. When practicing after class on a spell she can't do even the slightest, she can get quite tense and angry, causing her to do even worse on the spell. Many times you may see her walk around for a few short minutes or counting to ten to calm herself down a tiny bit. She may never get mean with someone during her frustrated mood, but she still gets agitated much easier.
Colette's mother always says being a banshee has good and bad things going for it. Colette has yet to find out what the good things are. She's never been one to hide who is, and if the topic comes up, she's quite open about her not being a full wizard. Yet, she doesn't necessarily say it in a proud manor. Although she doesn't hate banshees overall, she often wishes she wasn't one. Even if she's only had one major freak accident with screaming and death, it still haunts her to this day.
Colette's story begins with Simona Willoughby, a banshee, also known as her mother. The banshee had never had sights on a committed relationship, and she never was in one. She often enjoyed one night stands, usually with wizards who had no clue she wasn't a witch herself. Occasionally she did hook up with men more than once, but there wasn't any relationship involved. Due to rarely using protection, though, the woman became pregnant more than once with different men.
Colette Willoughby was not the oldest or youngest child of Simona. The mother had hooked up with quite a few men when she fell pregnant, causing her not to know the father. Even when Colette grew older and clearly showed she looked nothing like her mother, Simona didn't have a clue. Growing up, Colette always questioned her mother about her father. Even if the young girl knew that her mom saw many men at the same time, she still believed that her mom had a clue who her father was. Even a few of her half-siblings would spend time with their fathers. Feeling bad that she didn't know, Simona tried to make Colette believe he was bad or unimportant. After a while, Colette just gave up trying to figure out the mystery.
Growing up, Colette was quite the unique child. She never enjoyed going out and would much rather spend her day reading or drawing in her room alone. When she was invited to a birthday party or play date, her mom forced her to go. Colette also early on grew a love for gardening. While her family always seemed interested in death being banshees and half-banshees, the little gardener always enjoyed bringing life to tiny green plants.
Colette's first magical incident and witness to someone dying was when she was seven. The little girl had been forced by her mother to go to a birthday party she was invited to from a wizarding family they knew. The event took place at a park, where the half-banshee was ultimately dropped of at. She was sliding down the slide when she felt a weird sense inside of her. It was a sort of feeling that had drawn her toward a road near the park. She unsuspectingly sneaked away and stood next to the road. Turning her head a little bit, she noticed someone walking in the middle of the road with a car whisking right toward them. She closed her eyes right before hearing the crash. Yet, the dead person was not laying in the middle of the road. They were in the car, which had somehow turned at the last second and crashed off to the side. Nevertheless, Colette involuntarily started screaming until she was found and taken away.
No one ever figured out that the car crash was magic except for Colette. They all believed her first sign of magic was when she was ten and had healed a dying plant in her garden. Though, the event haunted the girl every day after it, having multiple nightmares. The feeling when she started screeching without any control over it also made her feel sick to her stomach, causing her hate of being half-banshee. Of course she didn't hide that part of her. She literally lives with her banshee mom, how could she? Though, she tried to avoid having to deal with the negative effects of it. Luckily her immune system is quite healthy so she rarely ever went to hospitals.
Hearing all about Hogwarts from her older siblings, it was definitely surreal when it was finally her time to attend it. She practically cried when receiving her acceptance letter there. Her memory of the hat being placed on her head and it calling out her house stuck with her for the upcoming years. Not surprisingly, the girl proved to be full of knowledge in class and excelled in Potions and Herbology. The only problem was that she quickly learned that her spell work wasn't so great. It took her much more time to successfully do a spell than the classmates next to her. Although easily frustrated on it, she always tries to balance it out with her prime knowledge on the spell... She also always eagerly anticipates for Herbology class to start.
