A major thing to note about Dante is how much of a yin to Donatello's yang he is. Albeit the difference is most notable in only a few traits, it is amusing to see how much they contrast one another. Whilst Donatello is a lot more perceptive to the good in people and wishes to see it, Dante is more distrusting and critical of a person. He's the type to make up his mind on what relationship he'll engage with someone when they meet, going off whatever preemptive judgements he's made about them. For that reason, he's rather perceptive and likes to analyse things thoroughly before leaping into them. There are some exceptions, however. As if it comes with the status of being twins, Dante is incredibly mischievous with Donatello. The two are known to pull major pranks both at school and at home. Though it's rare to prove it's them (though they get into trouble for it anyway), you can always tell when you've been pranked by the Bellucci twins. Perhaps being animagi work in their favour; there's a lot more creative ways to prank someone as a cat.
Though judgemental and perceptive, Dante really is a good guy at the bone of it all, it's just years of mistreatment has closed him off a little more than some of his siblings. He's a fun-loving person who wants to live life to the fullest and leave no wasted opportunities in his wake. He loves sarcasm and often incorporates some of his judgements of a person into his jokes to make sure it has the best sarcastic bite to them. He means no harm, especially when he's decided to commit to the friendship with someone, and it's a common rule with him that, should he choose you as a friend, then you have a friend for life. Though a powerful wizard, Dante is humble about his abilities. Perhaps this is in light of people calling his eldest sister, the one he loves an incredible about, a squib. Part of him thinks that, should he show off, it'll make her life worse and instead he chooses to be a little more subtle with his abilities, specifically in combat spells.
On a more negative perspective of his personality, many just see the brokenness of Dante. He's a person marred with mistreatment and it shows in his personality, obviously most clearly in his initial distrust of people. Alongside that, thanks to constant missed chances of approval, Dante is a person who doubts himself and everything around him a lot. It isn't a Bellucci Twin prank of Dante questions it at least once. Dante finds the need to ask people a question two, maybe three times to ensure that the answer doesn't change. It annoys people undoubtedly, but he does it out of fear that the answer'll change and he would've gotten his hopes up for nothing. Speaking of fear, Dante is a very fearful person. At night his mind is constantly clouded with the various fears he has; most commonly, separation from his family once again. Although he's made strides to get over this, it hasn't worked yet. Subtly, Dante suffers from anger issues an can blow up at someone if they annoy him enough, though this is rare and hasn't happened since an episode at a particularly neglectful foster home.
Dante was born on June 21 to Guila and Piero, members of the pure-blooded Italian Bellucci family based in Lucca. He was the fifth born of the bunch, a spot he held only due to be being born minutes after his fraternal twin, Donatello. For a birth that went mostly swimmingly, the birth of their brother, Nico, was the opposite and it claimed Guila's life, leaving Piero to look after and raise the family on his own.
Raising six children by himself was a challenge, as one would expect. Piero would constantly ask the neighbours for help and, as a form of relief, turned to drinking. Instability and disharmony had been growing within the children for a while and all it took was one call from a neighbour for the six to be snatched away by the foster care system. Being young, Dante had no real grasp on the situation; to him, he and his siblings were being separated from their father. He had recurring fears that he and Donatello would be split up but, thankfully, Aurora found a way for the six of them to be kept together - though that never stopped from Dante always fearing for the worst.
Before the younger Bellucci kids had a chance to attend Beauxbatons, the family moved to England and thus the hopes of which school to attend turned to Hogwarts instead. Though fraternal, Dante and Donatello never were far apart in anything and it showed in their first magical experiences. Just days after Donatello had his, Dante was just playing about when he was able to make all the toys he was playing with levitate. He doesn't remember what happened before or after, but it ended with the toys gone from above his head and his elder siblings looking at him.
There was always an unofficial expectation for the foster families to be better than the birth one that they were taken from and, at first, Dante was naive enough to believe it as he was among the last always to be subjected to the abuse and neglect that the Bellucci's were shown. Slowly the picturesque idea turned into a fear of foster families and Dante relied heavily on his siblings to see him through it. There was a quick, growing sentiment that it was them versus the world. Sometimes, Dante and Donatello didn't help. They were good kids, kind and model - the sort of ones you'd want your kids to be friends with - but, like anyone, they had a mischievous streak within them, though a lot of people were able to look past it because they were that good. Dante was the yin to Donatello's yang; whilst the latter saw the best in people, Dante was a lot more distrusting and could hold up a front well.
The Bellucci family is known to produce very powerful wizards as well as some of the weakest - they are quite the anomaly. Luckily, the twins were gifted with great power. Such great power that when they got older, 15 to be exact, they were able to accomplish something incredible for wizards, let alone wizards of their age. They conquered the skill of transforming into an animagi. The pair could transform into Siamese Cats that looked identical, save for a few minor differences. They've never registered with the Ministry however, and they keep their ability on the down low. They hope to keep it that way.
Over the years, their eldest sister Aurora grew increasingly protective of the family, and eventually attempted to gain custody over her younger siblings but was refused. Soon enough, Donatello and Dante were old enough to go to Hogwarts and escape their unfortunate home life for a while. Eventually, circumstances allowed Aurora to follow through with gaining custody and the Bellucci kids all moved into her apartment in Lincliff.
