Human Resources

  • Human resources (HR) was built to promote better communication between users in the wiki, especially between the general user base and the administration team. HR is to support and mediate arguments in order to help reach a fair conclusion and to try and decrease any negative feelings from continuing into the future. The department's intention is to promote and encourage harmony across the wiki, especially between users, and to assist new users in joining the community.
  • This department is built on trust from the community, thus whatever is said in the discussion is expected to be private between the member and the user (unless the user specifically states that they wish it to be discussed with the general community). However, the HR member holds the right to take it to either the HR admin or to the wizengamot if they believe that they are out of their depth.
  • Again, though, there is only so much they can do if one party (or both) is unwilling to cooperate. As long as both parties are willing to treat the other party with respect, then sometimes that is the best solution they can provide. They are not your therapists, nor are they there to provide a space where you trash talk other users. They hold the right to close a discussion if the discussion is unproductive or they feel uncomfortable.
  • There are rollbacks and administrators. The administrator runs as the ‘head’ of the department but still answers to the other admin team.

  • A user must be nominated by a non-wizengamot user.
  • The initial nomination must be backed by two other non-wizengamot users. There must be three in total.
  • If no one is nominated in the nominating week, then it will be extended another week and anyone (even those on the wizengamot) can nominate other users. If another week goes by without anyone being nominated, then the vote will either close with the position unfulfilled or it will be opened for users being able to nominate themselves without any additional backing. After that, it will be closed.
  • Anyone can be nominated regardless of their wizengamot status. A general user can be a part of HR and not be in the wizengamot and a wizengamot member can also be a HR member.

  • Human Resources are considered to be outside of the Wizengamot. This means you may have HR members who are also in the Wizengamot and vice versa.
  • Non-Wizengamot users will have basic content moderator rights on discord and wikia in order for them to help the Wizengamot. They are not expected to do any other duties outside their HR department duties. Wizengamot users will have administration powers and are expected to do Wizengamot duties alongside HR duties.
  • Whilst HR definitely supports the Wizengamot, the Wizengamot are expected to carry most of the burden. HR is the public relations branch.

  • A user or an admin may turn to a HR member with an issue that they like to discuss with the community. The member will then provide the topic with the community under a level of anonymity.
  • The channel 'aid and support' will fall under HR jurisdiction and it is their responsibility to respond and mediate any discussions held in order to ensure that it the discussions are helpful and on topic.

  • Essentially, the HR member becomes a new user's buddy, at least for the first two weeks. The intention is to have the new user feel welcomed and included in the wiki.
  • What the buddy system will include:
    • helping out with creating a new character:
    • creating a page
    • finding a face-claim
    • creating a word bubble
    • roleplaying with said character
    • Explaining the structure of the wiki, both in character and out of character, how to use the user model registration and answering any questions that they may have.
  • The HR department will be holding challenges for the community that will be given out through blogs and community central.
  • HR has the right to help with the community wherever they can, especially when the community has heavy activity or it is requested from the Wizengamot. This isn't a set list, but for example:
    • HR holds the right to look over forums and make comments, though more so the forums made by new users/their 'buddies', to check for any mistakes (e.g. a user not including first signs of magic in the history). They cannot sort the character.
    • HR can encourage activity for any upcoming expansions or any other event from the user base and try to ensure everyone feels included. This is something we do ask for and help the Wizengamot keep the community interested in the expansions (reminding people to post or to sign up etc.).
    • They are essentially the support for the Wizengamot, and the admin team can request help from HR.
    • They are able to hold meetings over an issue between all users involved, regardless of their position within the wiki, in order to find a resolution.
