- A ‘peculiar’ is the umbrella term for any characters who have added abilities on top of magic. For example, we consider a werewolf and a seer as two types of peculiars. We don’t consider squibs to be peculiar because they have no added abilities at all.
- Users can have unlimited amounts of peculiars. If we make an excessive amount of one type of peculiar, the admin team holds the right to put a temporary ban on a type in order to encourage users to give other peculiars attention.
- New User’s first two characters cannot be a peculiar.
- We allow ‘full blooded’ peculiars. Which means we allow you to make a nymph who doesn’t have wix-based magic in them. Except for werewolves, they cannot use a wand. They can attend Hogwarts, but they are extremely limited in what classes they can do, as they won’t have any magic to utilise.
- We allow dual peculiars but only if it’s an ‘ability’ and an ‘ability’ or an ‘ability’ and a ‘creature’ based peculiar. What we consider an ability and what we consider a creature is:
- Ability
- Parseltongue
- Photographic memory
- Legilimens
- Animagus
- Metamorphmagus
- Seer
- Clairvoyants (all types)
- Creature
- Werewolves
- Vampires
- Nymphs
- Veelas
- Sirens
- Leprechauns
- Fae
- Banshees
- Immortals
- Ability
- Two creature based characters can have children together but one side would be symbolic. For example, a user with a character whose parents are a fae and a vampire, then the user would decide which powerset the child would have access to. If they choose vampire, then they’d be half fae in title. They would essentially be a dhampir.
- We do not consider abilities such as wandless magic and having patronuses in the shape of magical creatures as peculiar but you must have a reason on why they have these abilities included in the history.
- Any user can create new peculiars but it is up to the user to write the lore and the list of abilities before being placed forward for a vote. For us to consider them, they must be different in both lore and ability from other peculiars. We allow overlap but there must be some difference. To approve a peculiar, they must have the majority of the wiki’s vote. You must specify whether or not they are ability-based or a creature-based peculiar.
- Please refer to the peculiar types page for the descriptions of different types of peculiars.
