Talk Page Policy
  • Talk pages are really the only way to message someone specifically on wikia anymore. We used to have a chat but unfortunately that’s been removed by wikia and we can’t bring it back. So the talk pages have become really the only source to message a user without going through a third party.
  • While we colloquially call them owls (because of Harry Potter), talk pages are found on a user’s page. If you click on their username, you’ll be directed to their userpage and then you see ‘talk’ underneath the profile picture. Click on that and you’ll be on the talk page. Then click ‘add topic’ to start leaving a message.
  • You need a header and a signature when you leave an owl. A header can be done with two ‘==’ on each side of the subject of your message. Your signature is just four tildes (~) at the end of your message. The signature allows the other user to know who sent the owl and the link to their talk page so they can owl back.
  • You cannot abuse talk pages. Abusive messages will be removed and you will be warned, or even banned, depending on what you sent. If you continuously abuse the talk page, the ban will be extended.
  • A user cannot delete anything on their talk pages. They can archive their owls (linking the archives on their talk page) but not delete.
