EQ is one of the most well-rounded people you'll ever meet. He has enough smarts to be a lawyer, enough skill to be a professional quidditch player, and enough talent to be a rock star. This kid could go anywhere in life. Although, his people skills probably need some work. EQ is very generous and helpful; however, he stuggles with having a good attitude about it. He'll tutor you, but he'll also call you an idiot when you screw up a problem. Basically, he has no patience. But at least he's humble about his talents.

This kid speaks fluent sarcasm and sass. He has an attitude about everything. The only people he isn't so rude towards is his family. Because it's so hard for him to make friends, when EQ does have friends, he cherishes them with all his heart. He is loyal to a fault (once you've deserved that loyalty, of course). He hates disappointing the people he cares about, even in the slightest way. He always keeps his word in fear of letting someone down. He's just that kind of person.

EQ was born to Sadie Schmidt and Hans Lorimer on November 9 in Bonn, Germany. Unfortunately, he was born alone instead of with his twin who was stillborn. Sadie was both overjoyed and devastated at the same time. In order to cope with her loss, she decided to adopt a baby girl named Cassandra to be his makeshift twin, although they were born a month apart. A few months after the adoption was confirmed, Hans passed away in a tragic car accident, leaving his wife, newborn son, and baby girl behind. Sadie, being the strong woman she was, was undeterred and raised her son and daughter with the responsibily and skill of two parents instead of one. A year after EQ, Sadie bore another set of twins - a boy and a girl. After the pair, she had another son, and then adopted two more children. With EQ and Cass being the eldest of six kids, they learned responsibility early on. EQ never slacked off from helping his mom out with his siblings. He'd help with meals, laundry, cleaning, and anything else to help out. In return, Sadie tended to coddle her son, loving him a bit too much if that was possible. EQ understood why though. She was so afraid of losing him. He could handle a bit of over protectiveness if it put his mom's mind at ease.

Whether it was from being one of the oldest or just from his personality, EQ enjoyed his time alone. He'd picked up music early on in life and relaxed by playing whatever instrument he got his hands on. He was pretty good at it too. Of course, he was excellent at Quidditch as well, much like his namesake. Between sports, studies, and music, EQ succeeded in whatever he set his mind to.

With a name like EQ, he was bound to be asked about it. Over. And Over. And Over again. Everyone would ask what it stood for, and EQ would get all uncomfortable because then he'd have to tell them, "It doesn't stand for anything. It's just EQ." And they'd laugh, thinking it was a joke and insist it meant something even after he would tell them he was telling the truth. It was just awkward. Everytime he'd ask his mom about it, she'd tell him the same story. She'd say he was named after a dear friend of hers, and her friend hated his real name so he'd only go by EQ. Hence, EQ is his full name. Despite his mother's efforts to not let her son suffer the same fate as her friend when it came to his name, she still failed. EQ hated his name. He'd never tell Sadie though. She'd be heart-broken and EQ would feel like sh*t.

Over his years growing up, EQ would hang out with his cousin Leyla every now and then. He decided that she was pretty cool. He also decided that it was a miracle that she had the same genes as his crazy uncle and still came out okay. How could someone so chill be born to someone so... so Aeron? EQ would never know. He was actually relatively excited to join Leyla at Hogwarts in the next year. Despite how chaotic his family could be sometimes, he still loved them more than anything in the world. Being a Schmidt was actually pretty great.

Hans Lorimer Father "My dad died when I was a baby. I never knew him, but my mom always told me that he was a great man. I wish I could've met him. I wonder if he'd be proud of me..."
Sadie Schmidt Mother "God bless this woman. She is the most hard-working thing to ever take on life itself. I couldn't have asked for a better mom. I love her to pieces."
Alena DeWitt-Schmidt Cousin/Kinda Sister "I grew up with Alena, so she's more of a sister than a cousin. She's honestly one of the only people on this planet I feel like being around. She's pretty cool."
Cassandra Schmidt Twin-from-another-mother "I don't know what kind of person my other twin would've been, but nonetheless, they would've been proud of Cass. I'm glad she came into my life. She's a great sister."
Leyla Schmidt Cousin "I truly admire her. I mean, who can binge watch a whole twelve seasons in a week? A week! I gotta give her credit. She's also pretty rad to hang with."
