Edmund is an everyone's man, for the most part, but can become a no one's man in a single second.

He is quite the flirt, with both men and women despite only going with men at the end of the day, and can be considered quite charming. Because of this he tends to get what he wants romantically (although he knows not to push it) and when he doesn't, he gets quite upset and will fall into a puddle of questioning himself. It's quite the issue since his whole life seems to revolve around his love life.

He can be quite harsh and rude, no doubt about it, when he gets too angry. When he's angry, he normally will just throw a threat or two before just walking away, but it can get real ugly really quick. His anger will normally lead to many broken relationships, which leads to him questioning his life choices and his attitude, which leads to him not talking to anyone for weeks before trying to jump into a relationship much quicker than needed.

He has a really big issue with fire. He has a knack for setting things on fire just to watch the flames flicker or see it spread to the closest thing to it. It's almost an addiction and he's burned himself quite a few times (purposefully and on accident). He isn't quite sure why he has this obsession, but he doesn't see anything wrong with it so there's no point in changing it, right?

Edmund Berthold Schmidt was born on August 15th in Cardiff, Wales into a well-known family. His father was the ex-keeper of the Heidelberg Harriers, meanwhile his mum was an ex-beater of the Holyhead Harpies. They'd met before a match between the Harpies and the Harriers. An attraction had grown between them, and eventually, that attraction led to something stronger. His father, Derrick, asked Edmund's mum, Emily, out. The pair went on a few dates during their time off, and slowly, that strong feeling was decoded as love.

After two years of dating, the pair broke it off. It had been Derrick's fault, really. After winning one of the most important matches he'd ever played, Derrick had gotten heavily drunk. It was somewhat odd, since he hadn't gotten that drunk since before he met Emily, as she didn't like it when he got drunk. One of the team's supposedly biggest fans noticed this, and approached the drunk quidditch player. She'd seduced him, and thinking it was Emily, Derrick took her to his place, where Emily had been waiting for him. Emily was basically destroyed to the point where she didn't let him explain and simply left. After that, she became much colder and released every single one of her emotions out in her matches.

She wasn't the only one suffering. Derrick could barely even focus during his matches and that almost cost him his career. His career did continue to live on thanks to his teammates. They knew he had the potential to lead them to the World Cup (which, as much as Derrick tried, he couldn't do it). Anyways, they banded up with the Holyhead Harpies (excluding Emily), and made a plan. They'd make him say the truth, and secretely record him. They'd pass the video on to the Harpies, and they'd make sure she saw it. Fortunately, the plan worked.

Derrick and Emily had a long conversation about what had truly happened, and Emily eventually forgave him, though he'd have to earn her trust again. Derrick didn't give it another thought and accepted. After a long year and a half of trying, Derrick finally got back together with Emily. After three more years, the pair got engaged. One more passed before they'd gotten married.

Their first child was Lena Schmidt. Her birth was in Wales, unlike her siblings, as that's where Derrick and Emily had been living at the time. Two years after him came Aeron and Arthur. By then, Derrick and Emily were back in Germany. Two more years passed before Ansel was born. After Ansel, Derrick and Emily had Boyce and Edmund. Boyce and Edmund were the two other kids born in Wales, during one of the many trips the family held. No, they weren't twins, but they were both born during trips to Wales. It wasn't long after when they had their last kids, Blake and Sadie. Growing up, Edmund was closest to Boyce. That was until the twins got old enough to not being annoying baby sisters and Boyce turned around to Blake. After that, Edmund wasn't necessarily close with any of his siblings. It wasn't that he was hurt or he was upset, it just felt impossible to him.

Edmund's first sign of magic wasn't anything special, at least not in his opinion. His parents had practically cornered him to have a parent-kid conversation. He wasn't being social enough, apparently, and they didn't like that. The whole conversation infuriated him, not seeing any of it necessary. So, in pure anger, Edmund caught both of his parents' shirts on fire. He later apologized, several stubborn hours later, and felt bad about it. That's probably the only time he ever felt bad for lighting someone on fire.

Once Edmund got to EESM, he was sorted into Mielkutè and excelled in school for a few years, even landing himself a spot on the quidditch team as chaser. As he went through school, he gained an obsession with fire and accidentally lit several things on fire. This development got him booted from the team in his fourth year and eventually expelled once he reached his fifth. When given the option to attend Hogwarts, he strongly declined and went off to practice his quidditch skills to become a chaser for Caerphilly Catapults (a Welsh quidditch team) when he was seventeen.

After playing for the Catapults for more than a year, he was handed off to the Tutshill Tornadoes, the same team his brother Arthur played on. At the same time, his best friend and "straight soulmate" Maisie Blue returned from her tour and he started coming out to his family.

Emily Schmidt Edmund used to be scared of his mother since she was either gone or barking orders at him. At least she paid attention to him though, unlike his father, and appreciates all that she has done for him, refusing to let her consider herself a terrible mother.
Derrick Schmidt Edmund was always the kid left in the middle, always treated like he wasn't old enough to practice quidditch with his older siblings and being too old to be considered one of the cuter members of the family. Even now that he's gotten older, his father still treats him like he's less of a human than his siblings.
Aeron Schmidt Edmund never felt a real connection to Aeron, always feeling like he was being picked on silently by him when he knew he probably wasn't. Because of this, he's never really cared to open up to him and has kept away from his older brother for as long as both of them can remember. He's recently began to get close to him though: actually laughing at his jokes, cheering him on at his games, and even coming out to him (although that didn't end very well).
Arthur Schmidt Edmund isn't really close to Arthur either, but makes more effort to talk to him than his crooked nosed twin. He actually enjoys this particular sibling's presence, which is a shock to even him, and enjoys the occasional cigarette with him. Now that they're on the same team, they have to spend more time together and Ed is secretly really happy about it.
Lena Schmidt Edmund is more angel-like when he's around Lena, not entirely on purpose. It just happens and it's weird to him. He feels like he shouldn't be that kind of person, so if he can avoid talking to her for too long, he does so. It's not that he doesn't like her, in fact, she's probably his favorite sibling, it's just that she has this thing that influences him to want to be a goody two shoes, yet at the same time not. It's too confusing for him, so he tends to just leave it at that.
Ansel Schmidt Edmund absolutely hates Ansel. It's not even just the fact that he's homophobic, because whatever, he just ignores him as much as he can on the matter. But no, he's just a prick in general. I mean, he's fully okay with making suggestive comments about fifteen year old girls and them letting their brother "get some" from her. That is a person that gains zero respect from him, enough said.
Boyce Schmidt Edmund used to be close to Boyce, but after years of going to separate schools, they kind of just grew apart. He doesn't think much of it, but he wonders what it would have been like if he had attended EESM with him, or if he had switched to Hogwarts. Yet, at the same time, he doesn't regret anything. Things could have ended up even worse if they went to the same school and he knows it, so he's thankful things are where they are. This is not to say he misses their friendship and their conversations, it's just saying he wouldn't want it any worse than it already is. Maybe one day, they can become close again, but he doubts it.
