Lumiere Pelletier decscended from a infamous pure-blood family in France. Being the only son, his parents stressed the importance for him to continue the pure bloodline. Hence, their decision to arrange his marriage with Agnieta of the Russian pureblood family Slecov. While most arranged marriages end up a sham, this was one of the few that turned out well. Agnieta was a kind woman who was loyal beyond compare. Her duty was to her family, and after she married into the Pelletier family, her duty was to that family as well. The couple had a rocky start, though they liked each other well enough. Soon, they developed genuine feelings for one another and truly fell in love. To prove their affection, they renewed their wedding vows and tried for a child. They were blessed with a beautiful baby boy named Jon, and then not long after came little Rou. The last child was Belle. The family was quite happy and their love for each other was immense.
At age six, Roulette had her first magical encounter. She had a natural gift for art, something she inherited from her mother. One night, Rou was playing around with paints, but it was time for bed. Roulette being resilient in her quest to finish her piece, snuck out of her bedroom to continue painting. She was caught of course, and her mother set the paints atop the shelf that loomed above the canvas and sent little Rou back to bed. Next thing Agnieta knew, Roulette was out of bed once again and paint was everywhere: the canvas, the floor, the desk, and all over her daughter who looked so proud of her art work. Roulette was grounded for that, but the canvas still remains on display in the Pelletier mansion to this day.
When Roulette was of age, she was to attend Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. She was easily sorted into Papillonlisse, and found many friends that shared her talents and ways of thinking. She loved it there. It wasn't until her second year that she and the rest of her family found out Jon was being bullied. He was best friends with a muggleborn, and because of him being a pure blood, the other students looked down upon him. At first, they just shamed him, but then it became more of a problem. Lumiere and Agnieta decided the Beauxbatons was not the school for their children. The next year, the Pelletier children were sent to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
