North Side Diagon Alley

{{{Picture size}}}

As you walk through the brick archway, the sheer pressure of people is suffocating. The cobblestone street clicks under your heels as you squeeze down the street. A stumpy witch, with a kind, round face and wearing an emerald hat, bumps into you, while a tall, balding wizard pushes past carrying a perturbed-looking owl. You pass through the initial crowd, moving toward your shopping destination. Down a snickelway lies Knockturn Alley.

Heloise Malfoy was not naturally a very touchy person. Before, she never excitedly gave out hugs or held hands. She was a product of two cold, distant parents who did not do these sorts of things with her or each other. Their own lack of love within their relationship had even given their younger daughter the impression that marriage led to a life of misery. In her fourth year, she despised her parent's discussions on the future potential for an arranged marriage and even vowed that she would live a life of solitude before getting married to any man. Over a decade later, Heloise would sometimes become suddenly reminded of thoughts like these. Her memory would briefly flash back to her very isolated and angered fourteen-year-old self, including now while holding the hand of "too big to carry" Jacque and walking shoulder to shoulder with her wife down the busy streets of Diagon Alley. All it took was a gay awakening caused by a mysterious French girl and the adoption of the French girl's twin's son and Heloise was all for physical affection—from the tightly-grasped hand holding to surprise kisses planted on cheeks. "What's left on the list?" she asked Chloe while simultaneously letting Jacque go to reach for it. Her broken down barriers did not mean she had also lost her control issues. Heloise had been dying to redecorate Jacque's and a few other rooms in the apartment for a while, wanting to spruce things up a bit. So she had made the list and somehow Chloe ended up with it. A few brief seconds of distraction, however, did not bode well in the busy crowds of the Alley this weekend. Turning back around, Heloise's heart plummeted when realizing the small toddler that had just been standing right next to her was now... well, missing. "Oh my god, Chloe. Where did he go?" She scanned her head around the area swiftly as the pace of her breath started to speed up. "Jacque, you come back here right this instant!" Taking care of a baby had been difficult, but having a little child that liked to run off at every possible moment was an absolute nightmare. This wasn't even his first disappearance this week.
