History

In the beginning . . . Luca Braunne is a Pure-Blood wizard. He was born in secret to a couple who called themselves Chantal Grimminger and Juergen Thorn. The real names of Luca's mother and father are Lutz and Myfanwy. They were aware they had been promised to one another long before they were arranged to be married. They were forced to give up their son Luca, as they were forced to do the same with their daughter Ilse. "Chantal" purposely wrote "Juergen's" real surname on the note left for this child as well as the second child they were forced to relinquish their parental rights to. By misspelling the surname she assumed the caretakers would know the boy child, and two years later the girl child they had abandoned were related to one another. Luca was raised as an orphan in England, due to his illegitimacy he was sent far from the city he was born in. He grew up "around" and "knowing" about magic, he knew all the children at the orphanage were or would become wizards and witches. He also knew he was a wizard. He knew he could have been a Muggle-born, he could have even been a Half-blood, some of the older children thought that about him. He knew nothing of his family, and he never shared his knowledge of his magical powers with anyone. He did frequently use his powers, but never to abundance, never in excess. He has always been clever, cunning even. He used his magic in small amounts, and he tried to use it only in the moments when he needed it most. When he got bullied by the older boys for his portions of food, and when they wanted to take his bunk because it was the most comfortable, the smaller children always got the most comfortable bedding. He was never hurt too badly when his magic did fail him, he did begin to hear rumors about himself when he left other children with scrapes and bruises when he was able. He was adopted at age 4 by a wizarding couple from a small town in the commune of Rambrouch, in western Luxembourg, in Bigonville, near the Belgium border. Luca was adopted into a wealthy family with a number of other boys. Six other boys to be exact, all around the same ages. They are not his brothers, and he does not treat them as such. He knew that this was not a family, and that made him bitter. Somehow. He knew that Zäzilie and Ladislaus were not "parents" they were trainers, they did very little to hide it. They were cold, and they only cared about teaching the boys to play quidditch, and they always would be. They were not a 'real' family and they never would be. He never thought he would have a family. He never thought he would know what the word meant in terms of love. He cares deeply for Ilse, she is his sister whether she truly is or not. The love he has, and the care he extends to her feels much different to what he expected, what he feels for his adoptive family. The only friends he ever had were his adoptive brothers, the home team. He never let himself get too close to them emotionally, but they ate together, they drank together, they trained together. Although he does not admit they are family, and they loves one another although they rarely let it show. His brothers all had a parent or some form of "family" before they were adopted by Zäzilie and Ladislaus. Luca has never had that before Ilse, before his brothers.

Ilse Braunne

Ilse and Luca were abandoned in the same orphanage in England by their biological parents. When Luca learned the little girl who looked a great deal like him had the same name he does he became insanely protective of her, of his sister. After he was forced to leave his little sister Ilse behind he became very bitter. She was still little, and he knew she couldn't understand him when he said goodbye, but he thinks she did. They share a home since she aged out of the orphanage, if ever she did forget him she must have gotten over it.

Adoptive Family

Zäzilie and Ladislaus Faerber

Zäzilie and Ladislaus were are Luca's (and his six brothers) adoptive parents. He was the "youngest" as one of the last boys to be adopted. Luca and his brothers did not learn much from their parental figures, but they were taught to play quidditch. Zäzilie and Ladislaus wanted all of the boys to play for the same team (the Bigonville Bombers) in the spirit of the Parkin family with the Wigtown Wanderers. That never happened for the Faerbers first set of boys.

Luca tried very hard not to be close to his brothers. They were not Ilse, they were not his real family. He repeated that to himself every single day and every single night. He did grow close to a few of them Avram, Rus, and Damian. He never confided in them, but he allowed them to trust him. He tried to never break their trust despite never quite extending the same to them.

Personality

Luca is very, very untrustworthy. He likes to make it seem like he is "a good Samaritan", a person who helps people because they need it, and not because it makes him look good. He values security, and peaceful living, but he is not unwilling to put both at stake when he feels threatened. He is observant, and very perceptive of other's feelings. He tends to use a person's body language against them, taking in all they did not say, and everything they are trying not to say. He does not truly like himself and therefore does not like to be alone, but he will not admit it. He will often complain about needing to "time to himself" for the purpose of attracting the helpful sort of people who would seek to comfort him. He likes to be the center of attention. He loves to be praised. He feels comfortable surrounded by a crowd. He is a showman.
