Nara Hikaru, the youngest of three boys, was born on February 14th (naturally the day of love) in Osaka, Japan. He didn't have the happiest childhood, but he learned to ignore it. Ignore the yelling, things being thrown, and the constantly drunk parents. Hikaru would always escape to his own little world. That world just happened to be filled with music. Music became his escape from the horror of his reality. He didn't have to deal with his parents when he sang. It was great.
When he was six, the Naras moved to England and then at age seven, Hikaru showed his first signs of magic just like both his older brothers had a few years before. It came when his father took a baseball bat to the family piano in a drunken rage. He was a few swings in before the bat was lifted into the air and dropped on his head. His father was out cold, but Hikaru was just relieved that the piano was safe for the time being. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done and the scraps were thrown out the next week.
At eleven, Hikaru received his letter to Hogwarts. That year he attended the school and fell in love. It was another escape from his broken home and a place where he could make friends. And make friends, he did. Hikaru knew no stranger, easily making friends with everyone he met. He had a tendency to fall for a lot of them too. He always sees the best in people - maybe because he's already seen the worst.
His third year, Hikaru auditioned to be a trainee for a new records company and got in. Music became his escape again and he spent all his free time at the studio. Well, not all his free time. At the end of fifth year, Hikaru met a girl who (like everyone else) he fell in love with. Unfortunately, she was the wrong person to fall for.
Her name was Penelope. She was depressed and Hikaru made the mistake of thinking he could be enough for her. The summer between fifth and sixth year was a particularly hard one for both teens. And when school came, Penelope expressed her desire to escape the trap of life. She wanted to commit suicide. Hikaru, being the hopeless romantic he is, told her he wouldn't let her do it alone. It was supposed to be a couples' suicide. Supposed to be.
Long story short, Hikaru jumped and Penelope chickened out at the last minute. It didn't take long for Hikaru to realize he was falling alone. The last thing he remembered before starting his life (or death) as a ghost was heartbreak. Penelope and her family moved a month later to who knows where. Who wouldn't run away after a horror show like that.
Hikaru wasn't disheartened though. Being a ghost gave him the time to make all the friends he wanted. Of course, they all moved on without him when they grew up, but he liked to think he made a difference in all their lives. That's why he does the gram deliveries and serenade missions. He wants to give others what he never managed to obtain: true love. When he's not a Hogwarts, he's kicking back at Silencio Records Studio with the other artists. Music still finds a way to be his escape.
