Forbidden Forest/Second Task

Tournament Maze

There is a buzz of excitement in the air as students gather around the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest to witness the second task. Before them is a large maze that will play host to the task. Who knows what could be lurking inside.

When Grizel and Karina enter the maze, it closes behind them, cutting short the thundering applause of the spectating students. They’re equipped with little but their wands, the incomplete time-turner they built, and the reminder to use the red sparks charm to mark the end of their task. When the two champions turn towards the maze, they’ll realize it… doesn’t look like much of a maze. It does, if they focus hard enough, but at first glance, it’s like the maze has been enchanted to resemble the Forbidden Forest as it normally does, without the labyrinth stretching around it. They’ll see trees where there may not be any and hear noises that might not be coming from anywhere within the maze. From twigs snapping around them to shrill screams, there is little way to differentiate whether what they’re seeing is reality or not, if they don’t stare long enough and focus on what they’re seeing. In the distance, there are loud laughs familiar to both Champions. Is that… Beitris and Jaina’s laughter? Where is it coming from? The Champions don’t have time to dwell on these thoughts, because before they know it, there wind starts picking up and the maze starts closing in behind them quickly, forcing them to move forward in spite of the trees and stumps they’re mistakenly seeing through the darkness.

She'd nod. "Generally...but this is unlike any maze i have ever seen. It seems to be a maze of...memories?" She would light her own wand. "We need to stick together and we will be fine. There are no way those voices are real. Keep focused on moving forward and we will be fine."

Send Me an Owl! - 01:45, August 3, 2020 (UTC)
Grizel and Karina push through successfully with their joint Lumos, although it doesn't do much to lighten up the maze; only about a five-feet radius around them. It isn't helpful at all as they reach a crossroads with two different options: left or right. To them, it looks like an uprooted tree is forcing them to turn, rather than the reality of a wall blocking off the path they're on. To their left, there is little illumination, but the ground they can see seems to be covered in little red seeds. To their right, there is better illumination. About fifteen feet in, they can see some rapid movement from side to side and the loud rustling of a tree. In the distance, they hear a loud, pained scream - it sounds a lot like Jaina.

"There is no way that can be real. It has to be a distraction." Her voice wouldn't hold much conviction. "Left I think. Careful of those seeds...could be dangerous."

When Grizel throws the rock, it doesn't land on the seeded path. It lands on one of the bushes making up the wall, which lights up on fire immediately upon touch. The flames lick high and wide, to the point it'll be very difficult to cross without being burned. As a response to the flames, the rest of the bushes start lighting up and the ground slowly starts turning a deeper red, like the seeds on the ground are reacting to the heat.

She'd cast flame-freezing charms on the other side of the path helping her partner. "The voice is my mother's which is why it cannot be real. There is no way they could have gotten her here for something like this nor done so against her will." It sounded like she was trying to convince herself as much as Grizel.

Game Master
Send Me an Owl! - 02:23, August 3, 2020 (UTC)
Karina's endeavors aren't successful, but Grizel does manage to make the flames harmless, providing them with the ability to push forward. Assuming they do so, they'll be able to run down the seemingly never-ending path. About thirty feet in, the bushes start changing and the ambiance turns colder and quieter, to the point you could hear a pin drop. There isn't even the noises of rustling leaves. The deeper in they go, the darker it becomes, too, until they're in the pitch black of night. Eventually, they'll run into a bushy wall. It seems they've hit a dead end.

She'd nod jabbing her wand up at the air and using a "Lumos maxima" to try to send a light up to light up the "dead end" they're in and hopefully find some break in the maze or something that might not line up right, even looking sraight up to see if they could go over somehow. She'd then use a "Dissendum" spell to try to reveal any secret paths.

Game Master
Send Me an Owl! - 02:55, August 3, 2020 (UTC)
Grizel's spell creates a gap in the wall. Karina's Lumos Maxima succeeds and reveals a dark mist several feet away from them, lurking without any real shape. However, Grizel is the first to see it, and when her eyes land on it, the mist changes, disappearing as a nearly overwhelming, debilitating, deep sense of loss and confusion overtakes her.

She'd frown as Grizel fell to her knees. Something dark and shadowy had done...something to her. Her first impression was a Dementor but she didn't feel the aura tht something like that would have given off. She'd move to Grizel's side kneeling down with her eyes scanning the darkness. Maybe a boggart? That meant she should be able to get between Grizel and the shapeshifter so she'd move in front of the other girl and raise her own wand trying to see what lay down the corridor and knowing what to expect from her own boggart should that be what appeared.

Game Master
Send Me an Owl! - 16:58, August 3, 2020 (UTC)
Although the boggart now cannot be seen by either one of the Champions, Grizel's sense of loss and confusion is augmented by her effort to try and call for Karina. To Grizel, nothing makes sense. She's overwhelmed by the fear that comes with being lost. On the other hand, when Karina peers down the path ahead, she sees nothing out of the norm for an enchanted maze (i.e. beyond trees and sets of differently-colored eyes in the darkness). She isn't able to minimize or stop the effects of Grizel's boggart because it simply isn't a physical manifestation she can see and consequently change. In the distance, they hear another tormented scream - this time, it's the voice of Beitris, trying to coax Grizel out of her stupor, as though on cue. "Grizel - Grizel, please! You know how to defeat a boggart!" The disembodied voice cries. When it pipes up again, the voice sounds desperate. "Please, please - let me go! Make it stop, it hurts!"

Grizel does a good job at using Riddikulus, and the amortal non-being is expelled, returning to its normal, almost misty form. Between Karina and Grizel, the boggart becomes confused, and with the successful cheering charms cast by Karina, it shrinks backwards, backed into a corner and providing the Champions with enough time to push forward. If they can do so, they'll find there's a lot of trees they'll need to run around. The trees look a little hazy, though, like they aren't actually there. Could it be an illusion? With every step, the ground shakes.

The encouraging applause from the student body slowly fades as the labyrinth closes in behind them, leaving the Champions alone and armed with nothing but their wands, the incomplete time-turner they built, and the reminder to use the red sparks charm to mark the end of their task. Upon closer inspection, the maze the Champions are now in is dark and dreary. The paths are narrow and much of the ground is covered in overgrown roots and protruding plants. Not far from them is a Venomous Tentacula, writhing and trying to grab a hold of the approaching wizards. The maze itself has a light fog, but the visibility is good enough that they can see up to maybe twenty-five feet ahead of them. In the distance, there are soft giggles and whispers that’ll seem familiar to the Champions. “Find me,” whispers a voice familiar to Jonathan - the voice of his mother, Charity. While her voice dissolves into giggles that fade into the darkness, another voice chimes in. This time, Lilith Lovecraft would recognize it, as it’s the voice of her sibling, Rudolph. “Lily, Lily! Look what I have! Come see! But - oh, be careful!” Rudy’s voice fades as well into an eerie giggle. The voices could have come from anywhere in the maze, but it begs the question - was that really them? They’ll find out eventually, but for now, the maze begins to close from behind them quickly, beckoning them to push forward even with the dangerous plants on both sides. The Venomous Tentaculas hiss and reach forward to try and bite them, to no avail.

Honestly? She was still mentally exhausted from putting the incomplete time turner together as well as the music box, she thought it took them six hours? All in all. As the maze closed, her ears perked up at the sound of Rudy calling for her, "Rudy? Did you get the Snoots, to do the thing again?" She called, knowing her sibling (and to be fair, her own) facination with the toy. "Shit..." She looked around before jumping at the sight of the Venomous Tentaculas, "I hate these things, could we? No...should we burn them?"

"No," he said quickly, trying to move past the strange voice of his mother. The giggle... it was disconcerting, and not like her. "You sever them." He flicked his wand at the nearest vines, and slashed his wand downward, calling out firmly "DIFFINDO!"

Jonathan's spell is a success, but it comes a second too late as the plant manages to shoot out a spiky, spore-like ball, aiming at Jonathan. Meanwhile, Lily receives no response from 'Rudy'. Another of the plants tries shooting a ball at her, lurching forward to try and, if all else fails, drag her into itself with the rest of the plants that make up the wall of the path.

She raised an eyebrow at no response back from Rudy, that was weird, they usually yelled back at her immediately. Then out of the corner of her eye she noticed the plant about to shoot at her, "Ew, gross...no..." She tried to wrest control of the ball hurling towards her with a simple Wingardium Leviosa, causing it to float up and away from her. Hopefully missing her completely.

He attempted to dodge out of the way of the ball. As he did so, he aimed at the body of the plant. "Immobulous!" He hoped that by freezing the plant entirely, it wouldn't spit out more balls, and it wouldn't try to grab them and they could just move past it.

Send Me an Owl! - 01:36, August 3, 2020 (UTC)
Jonathan is able to dodge the ball and immobilize it, whereas Lily manages to send the ball up but the plant manages to impale her on the back of her thigh. She'll feel a jolt of pain shoot up her body, but it isn't the kind of pain that would make her black out - just enough to slow them down. However, they do manage to push through just in time to avoid being swallowed up by the closing wall behind them. They reach the mouth of three different paths. To the left, the fog intensifies drastically, cutting visibility off five feet in. Through the middle, there's a deep red light and a scorching heat, but the pathway looks a lot more clear than the left, which is fogged up, and the right, whose ground is covered in slithering vines but is otherwise eerily calm and quiet.

She yelled an abundance of swears as her leg got hit by the plant, "I hate this place already..." She hissed through gritted teeth as she made her way to the crossroads along with Jonathan, holding the wound on her leg with her hand. "Which way? I think I'd take my chances with the middle? Maybe cast a quick Glacius for a gust of cold wind?" She raised an eyebrow, wondering if he had any other suggestions as she tried to see if a quick Episkey would work on her leg.

"That could also freeze the ground solid, which given your leg may not be the best plan," he said, nodding to her wound. "But I agree, let's go with the middle."

Game Master
Send Me an Owl! - 01:57, August 3, 2020 (UTC)
Lily's Episkey succeeds and her pain vanishes. As she and Jonathan move into the middle path, the other two will close off, ensuring they have no other way to go. About ten feet in, the air starts heating up to the point of discomfort. The red light becomes brighter and brighter the deeper in they go until, at a certain point, they realize it's because the fauna making up the walls is on fire. Upon closer inspection, the Champions will realize that starting fifteen feet away, the walls are made up of fire seed bushes that are already raging in five-feet-tall flames. And if they look around them, they'll realize there's red seeds everywhere. They're walking through a ticking fire bomb.

Her leg was fine, she looked to Jonathan, obviously annoyed before casing Glacius Totalum, hoping the gust of cold air would ease the heat and stoke the flames roaring beside them. "Might want to get your skis on..." She called as she decided, probably idiotically, to try and sprint to the end of the path.

His eyes went wide as she just took off. There were so many flames. In addition to her Glacius spell, he also points his wand at the bushes and, picturing large jets of water bursting from his wand, incants, "Aqua Eructo!" But he waits to see if it works before heading into the inferno.

Lily's Glacius Totalum is a fail. Her decision to run into the fire has deep repercussions. The flames of the bushes lick up her arms, burning the fabric of the jacket she's wearing along with her pants. The flames reach her exposed sick, leaving first-degree burns on her calves and the side of her legs, and second-degree burns on different parts of her arms. Jonathan's spell is only temporarily successful in that it subdues the flames for about three to five seconds before picking back up and steadily regaining strength.

The burning sensation was excruciating, it only took her a few seconds to realise her mistake. Oh well, she was committed by now, continuing to run the length of the path while screaming to relieve the pain. She'll deal with it later...much like everything in her life. Until...wait...what was that spell in Charms they learnt in Third Year...the Flame-Freezing Charm? She tried to cast it while running, maybe it would work? "TRY THE FLAME FREEZING CHARM!" She yelled behind her toward Jonathan, mostly attempting to deal with the pain while giving him helpful advice.

Between them both, they render the flames harmless, and Lily can brave through the rest until she eventually finds herself at the end of the fire-seed bushes. Even with the charms, the damage done to her limbs is horrible. From her wrist to just over her elbow, her arms are burnt, as is the skin from just above her knees to almost her hips. Once they manage to move past the bushes, they reach a quiet, almost tranquil intersection that provides them with a brief reprieve to handle Lily's injuries. This time, the intersection goes two ways: straight ahead and to the right. Coming from right ahead, there's a foul stench akin to old garbage and rotten eggs. To the right, there's no noise or any light, but if they look closely, they'll be able to make out eight white eyes.

As she got to the end of the corridor, she collapsed onto the ground which while still warm was much cooler than the hallway from hell. "Fuck...fuck...shit..." She looked at the palms of her hand which were red and swollen as she hissed as the pain grew more intense, "What the fuck?" She tried to clench her hand into a fist, barely being able to without letting out a yelp in pain. "What now?" She looked up toward Jonathan while casting some basic healing spells on the worst affected areas.

He knew burn paste would be the best thing for her, but obviously didn't have any. He knew that dittany leaves would also work... and looked to see if he could find anything. "I've heard rumors of acromantulas in the forest, but didn't think they were true," he said in a low voice. "I'm thinking maybe we go with the path on the right, even if it doesn't smell pleasant."

Lily's first-degree burns (the ones on the sides of her leg) heal up with the Episkey, but it's not enough to heal her second-degree burns (the ones running up her arms). When Jonathan looks around, it first doesn't look like there's any, but if he looks again, there's a Dittany plant behind them, growing from the vines on the ground. Was that there the first time?

The effect isn't instantaneous. Her burns are still raw and the leaves cause a stinging sensation as Jonathan places them. As the minutes pass, the wounds do begin to feel less painful and a lot cooler. It's taking too long, however, and almost as consequence, the voices from earlier make a reappearance. They both come from the right, where the eight white eyes are staring blankly from. "Jonathan - Jonathan, you need to leave! It's coming for you!" Charity's voice is a desperate plea. There's a brief moment of silence before a gut-wrenching scream echoes down the path. It sounds pained. "No - no, I'm sorry! Please don't do this! Please! Jonathan, sweetheart, run!"

As Lily stands up, they suddenly hear quickly steps coming from the right, where they had just heard the screams coming from. Except those steps sound... weird. If they take another glance, they'll realize the eight eyes are approaching them very quickly, and as the beast approaches them, it becomes clearer and clearer until they see an Acromantula hurrying in their direction. Down the path straight ahead, there's an obstacle that will force them to slow down or think fast; the path ahead is covered in bundimun secretion. The acidic substance is covering about ten feet worth of the path, and at the end of it, there is the Bundimun itself, slowly crawling forward to cover more of the ground in its green ooze. The walls are becoming narrower and narrower the deeper in they do, forcing one to run behind the other. They can't move back, either, because the Acromantula is chasing them and cutting the distance between them fairly quickly.

She runs behind him, while also giving cautious glances behind her toward the Acromantula trying to keep some distance between her and it, as it got closer she pulled out her wand and sent a Depulso spell toward it, hopefully pushing it back and slowing it down as she continued to follow Jonathan through the oozy walkway.

Jonathan's Evanesco doesn't work, but Lily's Depulso does, buying them a couple more moments while Jonathan tries again. If they decide to push forward without properly cleaning the ground, they risk the lime green acidic substance eating through their shoes and potentially their feet. Meanwhile, the Acromantula recovers quickly and hurries towards them again, lunging forward to try and grab Lily by the back of her jacket to drag her with it if Jonathan doesn't successfully get them moving again.

"Shit..." As it was seemingly becoming a trend in this tournament, Lily resorted to old fashioned methods and took her jacket off before throwing it at the gigantic spider, hoping it might blind it as well as distract its smell long enough for Jonathan to figure something out.

He let out an annoyed huff, but tried to keep a cool head, given the circumstances. He pointed his wand at the goo. "Scourgify!" He pictured soap bubbles everywhere breaking down the acidic mess.

Because the Acromantula is already blind, depriving it of one of its last remaining senses slows it down just in time for Jonathan to successfully cast his Scourgify. The soapy bubbles get rid of the acidic mess, providing the Champions with the opportunity to break through. With the ooze and the Bundimun gone, they make it through the narrow pathway, which the Acromantula doesn't fit through. They hear a loud, defeated hiss behind them. Now, they're faced with a new realization: the path forces them to take a left turn. After they take the turn, they'll see a very bright light at the end of the path. As they approach the light, it'll begin dimming, until they see a hazy figure dancing over a tube. When the figure hears the footsteps, it whirls around to look at the Champions. They'll realize with a jolt, the figure is... Peeves? "Lookie, lookie! It's the wee brats of Hufflepuff House!" he cackles. When his maniacal laughter fades, he sits on the tube, legs crossed as he peers at them with an innocent grin. "What brings you untalented gits around?" Peeves pauses and sniffs the air. "You smell like Troll dung!" The champions will notice there's no space to move around him. They'll need to move over the tube, which it looks like there's someone in it - someone Jonathan will recognize as his mother. Or is it a copy?

She arced around the corner before noticing Peeves, "Oh it's you again...huh?" She sniffed herself, "Oh yeah it's my new perfume, do you like it? The notes of dung really bring out the aroma of burning flesh, you might need to come a little closer to get the complete palette of scents." She noticed someone looking slightly similar to Jonathan in the tube so was trying her best to distract him as Jonathan took a closer look.

With the sealing of the path behind them, Dante and Iseult were left in utter silence within the maze. Their maze was quite different from a regular maze that one might expect. Instead of hedges, tall trees that were densely packed made up the barriers between the paths. Although one would be able to go within these trees, the pairs of eyes that would glisten within the moonlight would no doubt deter any sane person away. An erkling, unaware of their presence, stood in the middle of the path before them. In the distance, two screams would play after one another, both belonging to men. Iseult would recognise one as belonging to Dunstan whilst Dante would hear his friend Freddie.

As soon as she hears Dunstan's scream, she knows it's not real. There's no way they'd be able to bring someone who isn't in the castle into this situation. Perhaps if it had been Tristan or Elayne, Iseult may have fallen for the trick. "They're not real." She whispers. "The screams. Ignore them, this is their sick plan of distracting us." She says. Noticing the Erkling, she remembers something she had previously learned in care of magical creatures. She points her wand at it and casts a melofors jinx, aimed right in the centre of the Erkling's head.

Dante felt a pit in his stomach at the sound of Freddie's screams from afar, tightening the grip of his wand. He listening to his partner's words, but he also couldn't help but wonder... would they have really taken him? For the competition? While Iseult went after the erkling, Dante attempted to cast the human-presence-revealing spell, hoping that would reveal any nearby figures.

Iseult's melofors jinx worked, the Erkling's head being encased in a giant pumpkin which in turn caused it to fall on it's back, rendering it useless. Although an idea for the books, Dante's spell revealed no such clue of human presence. Rather as soon as he cast the spell, it seemed the creatures that slunk between the trees focused more on the two champions. "Don't anger them!" Freddie's pained voice sounded out, almost as if it was reactionary to Dante's spell, "You'll just make them angrier!"

Dante was trying to stay sure that Freddie's voice was a fake, but he did believe what he screamed made sense. Whatever creature hidden in the dark, it surely couldn't be good. Waving its wand toward it directly, he casted a verdimillious charm. Even if it didn't attack the creature as he hoped, it might reveal what it is through the green light the spell produced.

She casts a protego maxima around her and Dante - hoping to create a shield-bubble around them, not wanting to attack straight away, incase the creatures could be reasoned with.

It was a good thing that Iseult was able to cast a protego maxima spell because Dante's verdimillious charm revealed a Lethifold. Although it disappeared into the darkness of the trees near instantly, the unmistakable cloack appearance had been seen. Dunstan's screams to their left would echo throughout the maze, considerably louder and more pained than before.

She smirked. "A lethifold. I think it only responds to patronus charms. Remember the clue? About the memories of our pasts? Think of your happiest memory." She says. She feels a little awkward considering she'll probably be able to hear it. "And keep thinking it. I've no doubt it'll be back. We should head left? The screams seem louder this way." She suggests.

If he was being honest, Dante wasn't very knowledgeable about lethifolds, but they apparently seemed connected or related to dementors. "Okay," he nodded, heading left with Iseult close by. He didn't like the idea of separating. While he walked, he repeated one of the happiest memories to come to mind—eating popcorn and watching scary movies with his dad on Halloween.

As Tate and Hana walked into the forest, the entrance behind them sealed up. The once loud and deafening cheers of the students - especially Slytherin - died away until they were left in silence armed only with their wands and the incomplete time-turner they had. Near instantly was a crossroad in the paths; the one they were on and three others. Whilst none looked inviting, going straight on from where they stood bore the least fog. The silence, beyond their breaths and steps, was cut short from a scream on their left. Undoubtedly belonging to a male, Tate would recognise it as belonging to his father, Bailey. The scream ended with a distinct cry for help, Bailey's strained words echoing throughout the path on the left. Like clockwork, the path on the right yielded another scream, this time belonging to someone close to Hana; Judicaël Pendragon. Much like Bailey, the scream ended with a strained plea of help before returning the maze to it's silence.

The screams are unnerving, yes. The forest is a bit terrifying, yes. But Hana's always been good at blocking out negative emotions until she's able to complete the task at hand. "There's no way they could've gotten your father." she tells Tate immediately to reassure him, "How would they have pulled that off?" Jude, on the other hand... She recalls stories from the Triwizard Tournament thatbhappened in the 90s and how they actually got students into Black Lake, but shakes the thought away. She decides not to bring it up. When she realizes the voices are coming from two different directions, she almost rolls her eyes. "I don't want to fight you on where to go. I'm sure even if they are real, we're more than capable of saving both in time without having to split up. What do you think?"

Tate, at first, was sent into a panic at the sound of his father's scream. He was incredibly thankful for Hana's attempt at reassuring him as without her being there he might have just taken off without even thinking. He listened to her words and calmed himself down, she was right, there was no way the school could have actually gotten his father – the former Minister himself – trapped in the maze. While part of him still felt uneasy about whether or not what Hana was telling him was true, he decided to believe her for his own sanity. "You're right..." He muttered before looking in both directions. "I think it'd be best to stick together and tag team whatever is waiting for us, if whatever they have pretending to be our family gets more realistic we can be there to talk the other out of it." He reasoned, the more he spoke of it it made more sense to him that Hana was right, they weren't family members. "Maybe going down that path would be best?" He said, pointing to the middle path with the least amount of fog, "Might be easier for us to get started without all the fog."

She wracks her brain for a spell that would help make it easier to see, but comes up blank. Instead she mutters a lumos, she'd cast something brighter but she was afraid it would draw unnecessary attention from the more sinister creatures in the maze. Hana turns to Tate and nods, moving forward by his side. "Let's go, then."

If the two champions thought whatever was making the screams would stop after one attempt then they were sorely mistaken. "Tate! Please!" Bailey's voice echoed as the two made their way down the centre path, followed swiftly by "Hana? Hana?!" As the two made it further down the path, they would notice further on down that a Red Cap stood watching them, acutely aware of their movements.

After moving into the maze, Tate himself had cast lumos as well in order to provide just a touch more light for the pair. He did his best to ignore the sounds of his father screaming for help, it was hard but he needed to trust Hana. For his own sanity, that's what he needed. However, seeing a Red Cap was unsettling. Even if his dad and Hana's loved one weren't actually in danger, that still meant that there was blood shed in the area which was unsettling on its own. "That thing is ugly..." He muttered under his breath, becoming more cautious as they approached the dwarf. "I don't suppose you have a beautification potion on hand?"

Jude's voice sends chills throughout her whole body, and she tries to block it out by focusing on Tate and where they're headed. "Nope." she says, quietly. "A hex or jinx should probably do the trick, though..." She lowers her wand slowly, but keeps her wrist up so that the tip is still pointed at the red cap, thinking of a jinx that'd subdue it, but not knock it down entirely. It might prove to be useful. "Enbublio." she incants, trying to be as stealthy as possible.

Hana's Enublio jinx works like a charm, the Red Cap being encased in a bubble, it's ugly face turning angrier being a clear sign of success on the champions' part. It was then that the two would hear the snap of a twig behind them and, if they turned quick enough, they'd spot the unmistakable fur of a Hidebehind.

They'd only been in the maze for what... ten minutes? And Tate was already hating every second of it. From the sound of his dad screaming to a now floating Red Cap, and now a Hidebehind? No thank you. Thinking that there was no point in trying to stay and fight the creature, Tate decided instead to cast the knee reversal hex on the Hidebehind in hopes that if it hit it would at least slow it down and make it harder to chase them. "Run!" He shouted, not waiting to see if his hex made contact.

Before she starts running, Hana casts a quick imperturbable charm in the hopes of creating a barrier between them and the Hidebehind to repel it in case even with the knee reversal hex it manages to find a way to catch up. She runs, catching up with Tate, feeling pretty good about their chances. As long as they manage to strike up a good combination of defensive and offensive spells, hopefully everything should be okay.

Although Tate's knee reversal hex had failed - the Hidebehind having moved out of the way - Hana's imperturbable shield was successfully cast, allowing the two to put some considerable distance between them and the Hidebehind. Although muffled, the unmistakable sounds of frustrations from the beast would've been heard. At the end of the path they took, the Champions would find a clearing with a round stone tablet in the centre and multiple exists. On the tablet, in a substance that looked to be blood, was an arrow that pointed to the rightmost exit.
