I want to laughwhen I see you struggle

1) Give a history of your character. History must be at least two paragraphs long. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc.

Christmas at Hogwarts had always been splendid. Even shortly after the end of Queen Victoria's reign, on the year of our Lord 1911. James Knightley, a Gryffindor with sharp wit, marveled at the transformed castle as he strolled around for prefect duty, his rights proudly pronounced by the badge on his chest. It was past curfew, and his shift was ending. He was heading back to the common room, stifling a rightful yawn, when he sharply turned a corner and collided with something - or someone.

There was a squeal of terror as the person accidentally knocked him to the floor, their face flushed from presumably running to her own common room and inches from his. The person was a girl. James quickly deduced by the half-moons ringing her eyelids that she had at one point, fallen asleep somewhere. Her scarf was dominated by blue and bronze, so a Ravenclaw. A Ravenclaw who had unfortunately fallen asleep outside of the comfort of their common room, the library judging from the loud thud her book had groaned out upon contact with the floor.

The girl hastily resumed her graceful posture while standing, and James followed. From her movements, he could already see that she did not like losing her composure in front of a stranger. As the girl began to formally apologize (which made him smile), he interrupted, telling her he would dock points...if she didn't go out with him for a date to Hogsmeade in the weekend.

Rules were undoubtedly bent when James and Irene met, so it was quite astonishing to know that they kept to them after graduation and marriage.

Irene Knightley née Selwyn led a happy marriage, compared to those of her peers. James was a devoted husband, and when he wasn't out doing work, he was spending his time with Irene...and their unborn baby. Young Mrs. Knightley had discovered she was pregnant three months after their wedding ceremony.

And so when 1921 came to pass, the wails of a baby erupted for the first time in the household.

William Scott Knightley did not come to this world easily. It took two hours of labor agony for Irene to get "the adorable little rascal" out into the air and into his father's arms. He was a sharp one, James predicted, and it surely came true, but that's another story.

The Knightley household grew three years later, and this time it was of the opposite gender. Elizabeth Victoria Knightley came into the world, not as painfully as her brother, on 1924.

However, their stories are not for here, but for Arella's. What was up with the Christian names?

Arella Lateeqe Zontir Knightley was the most feeble babe yet, defying the season she was born in. Summer was particularly fine on 1926, the July month lifting up spirits. James and Irene feared so much for their newborn, that as soon as she was deemed safe for travel, she was shipped off to Switzerland to Irene's young half-sister.

Erika Bühler raised Arella nearby the mountains during summer, and traveled to the partially magical village population when winter began. The fresh air and food seemed to perk up Arella's immune system indefinitely, and by the age of six she was fully capable of speaking both French and English in complete sentences.

Shortly before her seventh birthday, Arella tearfully departed to head back to Britain, leaving an empty space in her aunt's home, and the owner herself greatly longing for the company of the chatterbox. Erika's woes were relinquished soon after Arella's departure, becoming engaged to her future husband who took his "death do us part" vow seriously.

The return of their youngest daughter caused the parents to rejoice. For the first time, Arella met her siblings. William was on his second year at Hogwarts, having been sorted into Ravenclaw. The siblings immediately went to catch up on recent events, with William relaying his first event of magic (he was eight, and made himself explode all the way to the rooftop over some trivial matter) and Elizabeth generally making her sister comfortable. Having heard stories from Aunt Erika and now William, Arella was simply dying to go.

Her first event of magic came upon her like a thousand walls of raging water, precisely on her 7th birthday. Irene had left some chopped onions on the kitchen table, and Arella, in a rare act of disdain on the way outside, somehow magically reduced the onions into dust by repeatedly smashing them into the wall. The clamor drew the other inhabitants of the household to the kitchen, where they found that the smooth kitchen wall had been split cleanly by a crack that went all the way to the ceiling. William was a tad miffed that Rell's act of magic came earlier, and never let her forget how much she despised onions, albeit in a playful manner.

Arella didn't lack love nor attention from her siblings and parents, so she longed for times when she was simply left alone to her devices. Her childhood was full of Quidditch, borrowing her siblings' books and scouring every last inch, and occasional spurts of magic that followed her, nursing the spark of the gift within her. When Elizabeth got her letter, she looked forward to getting letters from her two older siblings as she impatiently waited to join them.

Barely a day after her 11th birthday, an owl carrying the Hogwarts crest dropped in from the sooty chimney and collided with the remains of her birthday cake. Dazed, it waddled about much like a flightless penguin before dropping it by Arella's feet and flying off, narrowly avoiding hitting a wall.

For years and years, Arella had watched and waved to her siblings as they rode off in the Hogwarts Express. Now she finally could come along. Irene and James came personally to see their children off as they boarded the train.

Arella almost immediately strayed from her older siblings. She knew them well enough to understand that it probably wouldn't be cool for her to tag along. However, Will and Liza stayed by her side long enough to make sure she wouldn't get trampled over by any giants (they had an inside joke on how small Arella was.) In a separate compartment, she hastily became acquainted with her fellow first years. It was there she met future best friend Emily Merit.

Like any other first year, the youngest Knightley daughter was ushered through the gloomy traipse towards the lake. She, Emily, and two other boys were herded into a boat. The lake ride was mostly uneventful, besides the 'ooh's and 'aah's from the ickle firsties and one of the them nearly toppling into the waters.

Everyone was trying to recover from the jitters once they arrived in the Great Hall. The Sorting started, and Arella was fidgeting nonstop when her turn came.

"RAVENC- NO! HUFFLEPUFF!"

It took approximately five minutes for the Sorting Hat to decide before the Hufflepuff table burst into applause as Arella joined them. She saw her siblings exchange worried looks from where she sat - and Arella knew from that day on that she'd strayed from what was expected of her.

And she didn't regret it.

The following day, she went up to the Ravenclaw table, sat by her sister and her brother, and there began the first spectacle of the year - an eleven year old midget not backing down from an argument with her Ice Prince brother.

Second year was somewhat normal. Board train, use the carriage, watch the Sorting, head for the common room.

Arella was already being scrutinized by her House mates. In their opinion, Arella was more of a Gryffindor than a Hufflepuff. She was feisty, incapable of not coming up with a retort, and overall caused quite a need for Advil among her superiors. Unfortunately Advil didn't exactly exist back then.

Things turned nasty whenever anyone made a snarky comment on either of her siblings (William had quite a reputation.) It was almost always certain to escalate into a full-out banter war, and even the toughest Puffs were forced to raise the white flag. Arella merely kept a few close friends who could tolerate and love her impetuous behavior - namely her siblings, Emily, a Gryffindor boy named Nickolas, and an introverted Slytherin named Damon.

With William's graduation, her House grew to accept her a little more grudgingly. Actually, even without him graduating, they would have had to. Or else.

Events multiplied at the dawn of Arella's third year. Above anything else, she was now permitted to visit Hogsmeade. The small privilege brought along new antics, and a tiny more of fun.

Also, there was a slight incident when some of her classmates tried to feed her to the Giant Squid, but they all ended up in the Hospital Wing, much to Elizabeth's approval and William's delight when they found out.

The OWLs coming for the fifth years did somewhat stress her elder sister out at times, and they frighteningly had their first few fights during these days. Fortunately, they always made up, bond strengthening with their resolve.

Fourth year was particularly mild despite the impending doom of OWLs. Though the professors had gained the habit of throwing "ACT SERIOUS, YOUR OWLS ARE NEXT YEAR AND SUCH BEHAVIOR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED" at people, this did not really stop any mayhem among the student population. Arella was definitely not lacking intelligence or encouragement on the subject, so was overall unaffected as well.

Mid-term, she had her first kiss from Nickolas (which, to this day, she has not relayed to her siblings or they would probably bring him back to life just to kill him.) She got caught up in a love...what, square? A love square with her closest friends (obviously not including her siblings), much to her obliviousness.

Tempers ran really hot during OWL year, and Arella had a falling out with her best friend, due to the love square being finally revealed. Who knew it was actually possible to lose all your friends within the span of two minutes? Arella didn't.

She couldn't go to her sister, who was happily graduating soon, and add to her burdens. William was off somewhere in the world, and besides, he'd probably just laugh at her. So the youngest Knightley attacked her studies with a rage-induced fervor that eventually granted her really high marks.

Going through the next year with absolutely nobody to confide to turned out to be a brutal challenge. This was the point when she began to distance herself from any people remotely attempting to befriend her. To her absolute shock, Arella received her Prefect badge shortly before the start of term. This just more or less added to her burdens, though she kept up a strong exterior.

There was only so much she could do to prepare for NEWTs. As if it could get ANY more worse, her family lost contact with William while he was traveling with his yeah-totally-not-girlfriend Natalia. Elizabeth went after him even when Rell begged her not to.

NEWTs certainly lived up to its name. Emily and Damon, who were now a couple, made attempts to reconcile with Rell. She would have none of it, but was surprisingly polite on the matter. Nickolas tried to apologize, but their friendship was seriously strained to the point Rell just considered him an acquaintance. All in all, NEWTs and Prefect duties took over rather monotonously Rell's daily life. Graduation, to this day, she considers to be a gift to be free.

Soon enough Rell and her parents regained contact with her other siblings...but the news was grim. William AND Elizabeth had been both turned into vampires. Not wanting to lose Rell too, they separated her from her siblings on a whim (not that they were already separated as both William and Elizabeth had already sort of moved out.)

But nobody, and nobody, could ever keep Rell sheltered or protected. Nope. A visit from Elizabeth went awry, and the last Knightley child was turned into a vampire as well. The temporary gig she had at Gringotts ceased to exist, and Rell was faced with unemployment and the loss of her wand and magic. For some time this left her quite unhappy, though she never blamed her siblings.

After she finally pulled herself together, William and Natalia got married. Just in time, too. She'd been teasing them about it ever since she met the girl. She was a good match for her icy brother, and how right she was. The wedding ceremony was rather private, and for once the youngest didn't complain. She had no friends who could remotely stand her brother. It was lovely and everything, but one couldn't help but wonder how long it would last before tragedy struck them again. Would their intimate family bonds ultimately kill them?

Rell freaked when they found out Natalia was pregnant. A new addition to the Knightleys, at last. The entire family stayed long enough in Russia to watch the grandchild/nephew to be born. Everyone, even Rell who swore he was probably going to be exactly like his dad, fell in love with the little baby at first sight.

Russia, as lovely as the place was, was not for Rell. She moved back to the UK as soon as she could, and for the most part stayed out of trouble. Her interest in archaeology paid off during those times as she started a reputation of being capable of identifying the most expert fakes from the real ones...granted that few people were brave/foolish enough to deal with her. Nevertheless, the job paid and it stuck. Everything was simple and happy. She kept in touch with the rest of her family, pulled neat and semi-honest deals, and generally kept out of the bad crowd.

News of Natalia's death came down on their family like a tsunami of pain. Rell had really liked her sister-in-law, and worried for William's mental state...and Sevastyan's. When they moved to Britain with Elizabeth, she sensed that everything would never be the same again. This was worse than losing the ability to wield magic. This was far, far worse.

When William's criminal title came into light, Rell had been sitting in her study, working on a certain ruby copy. She nearly dropped it out of absolute terror. Would she ever see her annoying brother again? What had happened to Sevastyan? Would people be asking questions? That same day she had wards put up in her house lest the vampire prejudice went to the extremes. Fortunately it didn't, and she soon learned that Eli kept an eye out for Sevastyan. Contact was brief and limited, but it existed between her and her fugitive brother. Immense panic and relief had scorched through her in a way that it had during Natalia's death.

Eventually she began keeping an excellent eye out for news about her brother. He was, as she had suspected, constantly slipping from danger's fingers, no doubt with his usual sass. She continued to keep in contact with Eli, and wrote the monthly letter to Sevastyan. Decades passed before William's case was finally forgotten. It was good to see her siblings and not worry about the authorities anymore.

2) Give a description of your character's personality. Personality must be at least one paragraph long. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or humble?

If there ever was a stubborn, sarcastic angel who always teetered on the edge of impertinency and loyalty, Arella would be her.

The general first impression of her would be a sweet, empathetic girl who lives up to her name meaning of "messenger of God; angel." Despite her awkward tries at conversation, she's more wise than she lets on. However, insult a loved one and she will immediately come to their defense. When vexed, she retorts with sarcastic remarks that is reminiscent of her brother's.

She hates the fact that her siblings are overprotective of her, often leaving her out of death-and-life situations. Her willingness to abandon her "safe and cozy" life for her siblings frighten the latter so much that they do their best to keep it otherwise.

Holding a cynical and pessimistic view on life, it doesn't take much to get her to think the worst of people. Despite her impetuous behavior, the youngest Knightley surprisingly possesses a sharp mind. She takes pride in being a hatstall between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, though how this came to be with her Gryffindor attitude is still unknown.

Even before her vampire status came to existence, Arella kept people at a distance and had very few close friends, which always included her siblings. She was never comfortable with other girls due to insecurities, and always ended up comparing herself to them. Her low self-esteem is completely opposite of William's.

As clever as the girl can be, she has had bouts of obliviousness from time to time. This often leaves her relationships with people strained, and sometimes torn beyond repair. While her intentions are good, she's generally bad at expressing herself to non-family members. Her alignment is Chaotic Good and her personality type is ISFP.

3) Are you Pure-Blood, Half-Blood or Muggle-Born? Do you have any notable magical relations? (Remember, you cannot be related to important Harry Potter characters!)

Formerly pureblood, descended from one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. Full-blooded sister to Elizabeth and William Knightley.

4) Does your character have any special magical abilities? Or special abilities in general (photographic memory, etc.)? Is he or she of a different magical race, such as veela, vampire, werewolf or the likes? Part or half of that magical race counts! MoM Arella Knightley has been registered as a citizen by the British Ministry of Magic!

"Upon the signature of the International Statute of Secrecy in 1689, wizards went into hiding for good. It was natural, perhaps, that they formed their own small communities within a community."
