6) Give a description of your character's personality. Personality must be at least one paragraph long. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or Humble? Anything about your character that might help the Sorting Hat decide. (Don't worry, you can copy this onto your character page later!)

Claret is a shrinking violet, very anxious and somewhat suspicious of other people. Shy, quiet and very much introverted, she is often found to stray to the side of a room and look for somewhere, anywhere to be by herself. Claret is very much a dreamer, but she is far too timid to shoot for those dreams, and spends a lot of her time in her own little world. Focusing on what could be rather than what is, she escapes from her pessimistic mind. She's very socially awkward and has been known to feign illness to avoid social gatherings and other large scale events. Claret is very creative, even if she doesn't share it with everyone. It's her own way of enjoying herself. Artistry is her passion, whether it's writing, drawing or singing. Her room is littered with paintings and manga drawings, and pieces of prose. People have told her that if only she would come out of her shell, she could be very successful - but her substantial lack of self esteem makes that almost impossible. In all essentiality, she's a small bird that forgot how to fly.

You might wonder how such a timid person ever got anywhere. However, Claret loves fire - the way its flickering red and orange flame lights up a darkened room, and the way it warms you when you sit close. There's something enchanting to her about the way it sways and dances almost hypnotically, how it crackles invitingly as it devours the blackened wood. Swallowing everything up - memories, trinkets, people - exquisitely beautiful. It may also be triggered by the fact that she's terrified of water, of drowning. Many of her artworks centralise around fire.

It's not that Claret is impolite. She definitely has her mannerisms. She'll, albeit reluctantly, speak when spoken to - pleases and thank-yous, etc. However, physical contact is a huge no-no, and she detests people who ask too many questions. Preferring a good book in front of the fire over a party, this daydreaming, introverted spirit isn't looking for friends as such, and definitely not romance. Claret appreciates people who are not narcissistic, loud or obnoxious, and people who appreciate that she just wants her own space.

One thing Claret has never been good at is hiding her emotions, and that is because her tells are very blatant. If she is uncomfortable, you'll know about it, and that's not because of any 'if I was gonna ___ you, you'd know' attitude - Claret is simply not that kind of person. It's because they're externally obvious - lack of eye contact, shaking... However, she is excellent at sensing the mood, or 'reading the atmosphere', if you will. If a lie is better than the truth at any given moment, she will tell the lie without batting an eyelid or feeling any guilt whatsoever. Whilst she prefers to not get herself in a situation to have to tell a lie, what she lies or tells the truth about is dictated by how the moment presents itself to her.

A side effect of sorts of her reclusive nature is that she often talks to plants and animals, and sometimes even to herself. Her best friends are a cat and a dog and that is the way it is. She's not particularly studious, but is intelligent enough; she can be surprisingly calculated and organised, but only when solitary. When alone, she can be much better at keeping her composure. Tending to avoid responsibility as much as possible, Claret prefers not to need this calculated frame of mind. If she does have responsibilities to fulfil she will not disappoint, however. If she must speak, she does almost always sound nervous and stutter quite a lot. She would prefer not to speak at all - but she'd hate to be an inconvenience. She is an ISFP - The Artist.

7) Write about the history of your character. History must be at least two paragraphs long. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc. (Again, you can copy this onto your character page later!)

Royce was a plumber; he had been wanting to help Muggles since he was eight, and despite all the magical prestige he had gained at the Canadian magical school he had attended, he made his childhood dream a reality, and became a plumber anyway. Many people in the small neighbourhood he lived in disagreed with his occupation, and tried to convince him to get a better job that would make use of his talents, but he was not for turning. He would say no time after time, that he was happy, but it didn't stop the persistent people of the town trying, although he wished it had.

Patricia Aylmer's father was a politician, and she came from wealth - in no way magical, she spent her life considering a career, and eventually became an author, and a rather successful one too - her eloquent style distinctive and well-received. The paths of these two crossed when Patricia called Royce in to look at the plumbing in her apartment, and Royce, loving all things young and beautiful, was lost quickly enough. Patricia subtly flirted as she did with most men he met, and when he quit his job to become an editor at her agency, an office romance bloomed which ended in Patricia's pregnancy.

Patricia broke it off with Royce, finding out from him that he was a wizard and that Claret might be too, and gave birth to young Claret Emilie Aylmer. Claret was a shade of deep red that she'd always loved, although the name would prove to be quite the misnomer.

Patricia met Bradley Williams at a convention, and something more bloomed between them, until Patricia and Claret, now two, moved again, to Atlanta, Georgia. Claret and co. moved back to Canada at the age of six after her first sign of magic came - that was, accidentally summoning the maple syrup because her mother wouldn't give her it. Bradley, a pure blood wizard himself suggested they move back so she was eligible for education in Canada. Claret attended the Canadian Institute for two years before Bradley suggested a move to Hogwarts would be beneficial.

8) Write about your character's appearance. How do they look like? Are you planning on using a certain model for your character? If you already have a picture in mind, you can put it here!

Claret is petite and pale, with her mother's long, blonde hair. Not very much red, as her misnomer name would suggest, in her very appearance you get a sense that she is small, and timid. She's very pale, with a few freckles dotted about her face, and is quite short for her age, standing at just below five feet.

9) Are you Pure-Blood, Half-Blood or Muggle-Born? Do you have any notable magical relations? (Remember, you cannot be related to important Harry Potter characters!)

Muggle-Born

10) Does your character have any special magical abilities? Or special abilities in general (photographic memory, etc.)? Is he or she of a different magical race, such as veela, vampire, werewolf or the likes? Part or half of that magical race counts! (Remember, you cannot have an "exotic" characters as your first two characters!)

No

11) What year is your character in?

Third
