1) What would you consider to be your character's strengths, and your character's weaknesses? Elaborate on your answer.

She's eleven. Her goals are to have fun, duh. In the long-term, she'd love to have a government role.
3) What's their ideal way of spending a free day? Why so?
Spending the day with friends doing whatever.
4) If your character could only keep 5 possessions, what would they be? Why?
- Wand - it's her new favourite thing
- Teddy Bear - smells vaguely of her mother and right now it's her anchor

Let the girl actually, you know, experience it.

Delaney is a bright and optimistic individual with a presence that has been described by many as lighting up whatever room she walks into. It's often said that it's incredibly hard to remain upset after her attempts at cheering one up. Delaney has an appreciation for the joys in life; she loves spending time with her friends - her extroverted social-butterfly demeanour lending itself perfectly to that - as well as jokes and parties. If there's an opportunity to have fun then Delaney will often be in the front of the queue, or the one generating as much fun as she can.
Delaney is very much what every wizard would imagine a muggle-born to be like when they first come into the world of magic; bewildered and infatuated by it all. Delaney remains very much in the honeymoon phase of finding out about her uniqueness - finding out that things like unicorns, wands, cauldrons and magic in general are all real is amazing to her and, sometimes when she stops and thinks about it, the thought still excites her. Thanks to her general academic nature inherited from always talking to people, Delaney is ready to throw herself into her studies and be the best that she can be.
The biggest issue Delaney has is homesickness. Whilst the whole thing is exciting and, during the day she forgets all about her muggle life, at night she struggles with coming to terms with being away from her parents and brothers - her stuffed animal becoming a crutch to see her through the night. Through this, her teddy bear has become a crutch for all emotions at the moment - sad, angry and scared. All of them can be soothed by the presence of her stuffed animal that still smells faintly of her mother's signature perfume. It's a habit she wants to break out of, but for now she doesn't mind too much.

Based on names alone you could be mistaken that out of Delaney's muggle parents it'd be her father, Reuben Lavere, who had the magical ancestry - even if you were to look at him, the London native held himself in such a way that it'd be hard to not mistake him as a wizard. Unbeknown to him, ideas he spoke about such as unicorns and things you could only see upon witnessing death were real things that his daughter would someday experience. But, ultimately, no. It was Delaney's mother, an extremely ordinary Cape Town woman Khanya Azikiwe, who had the magical blood in her veins and would be where Delaney would inherit them.
Delaney was born the youngest of three with two older brothers. She was, by full admission, an accident. A happy one, but an accident nonetheless - her being seven years younger than the closest sibling whilst her brothers were a year apart only emphasising that. Still, it filled Khanya's heart to have a daughter and her elder brother were fiercely protective of their younger sister.
It was clear early on in Delaney's life that she was an extroverted social butterfly who had an affinity for making friends; everywhere she went she'd try to talk to people and become friends with them. It didn't matter who. The teacher that gave one of her older brother's a detention? She'd try it. The old woman in the supermarket just wanting her bread? Delaney would attempt to bond over the carbs. She even tried to make friends with the figures she saw on the TV, not knowing they weren't talking back at her directly. It was no shock to anybody then that she progressed easily through school both socially and academically. Whilst other students might not have inquired about how the maths they were taught worked or why certain words couldn't be next to each other in sentences, Delaney would always ask, if anything just to have an excuse to talk but the knowledge she learnt would prove to be invaluable.
Delaney was a little late in her magical experience discovery, being around nine. The family of five were out in their garden playing with water balloons, her father being the one to fill up a ton of them and bring them back to the rest of them so they could play. It was on one of his trips back with four dozen or so full balloons that Delaney's excitement got the better of her and all the balloons exploded in her father's hands. All five were shocked but Delaney was convinced she had been the cause of it, comparing herself to Matilda slightly and tried to recreate it. Unfortunately she never could and she got disheartened - that is until recently receiving her Hogwarts letter.
It's a shock to the whole family, but all of them are willing to support her and embrace the new part of her.
