Educational Reform

So, I've noticed a few things about the schooling here on Dumbledore's Army that I really really like. However, there are some things that so much. So, here's what I propose (for the next school year):

  1. We have the "Wizengamot" (doubling as the School Governors in this case) meet, go through each subject and come up with GLEs (General Learning Expectations) for each year. Therefore, us teachers, have a guideline to go off of. Ultimately resulting in an easier teaching experience.
  2. After we have all the GLEs created and all the guidelines drafted up and readily available. We have both teachers of the Class Departments get together. Whether in a chat or in an actual RP. They draft up exams that cater to the GLEs and provide well though out and, in some ways, better exams.

  3. I'm good with that as long as teachers have the option of roleplaying in a way that isn't exactly conforming to the expected standards, and then of course having problems with the ministry because of it. Bond_em7 (Owl Me) 14:27, May 18, 2012 (UTC)

  1. Bryans and HoR's comments have made me rethink this. It's more realistic. However, I still don't have a problem with the current system. I'm voting neutral on this one, though it looks like it'll be passed anyway. Echostar 12:08, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not saying that the current system is flawed. But, with the addition of the teachers from Hogwarts, I think have a minimal standard (not eliminating the teachers freedom to use their own style) and have a more unified teaching experience would benefit us all.

What I agree in this system is a standarized test, which I originally planned on implementing when I created the system. However, time restrictions led us to the current way of every teacher making their own. This way, the tests and stuff can be unified, but we can have our own styles still.
