The Character's Background

1) Give a description of your character's personality. It must be at least two paragraphs long, seven sentences each.

Nike takes things in stride. You slap her, she'll turn her head and ask you if you want to make it even. Smart ass? Yeah, just a bit. Oh, she hurt your feelings? Sucks for you.

She's not an ass, persay. She'll apologize, but she won't really mean it. Sort of like she'll say bless you when someone sneezes, simply as a reflex. She doesn't actually want to bless them--she doesn't give a fck where they go when they die, and to be quite frank, she wouldn't care much if they dropped dead from that sneeze either. If she were the only person around, she might try and get them to the hospital, or if she's on duty she might respond appropriately because it's her job, but she's not going to go out of her way.

Have a dare? Nike'll do it. Don't even tell her what it is, she's already agreed. And gossip? Nike loves gossip. She eats that shit right up and dishes it right back out to someone new. Is it true? She doesn't care.

So, a little bit of an ass.

Nike's prone to being late and losing things and she gets bored real easy. It's not uncommon for her to show up late to work on a Monday with a hangover and a large, hot americano with cream, always in her trusty Starbucks travel cup.

She hates the idea of dying, and--okay, so she's an auror, which is a dangerous job, but that doesn't mean she's stupid about it. She stuck with Patrol because it's A) relatively safe and B) relatively easy while still being a respected position. Would she lay down her life for someone in the line of duty? Hell no, not intentionally anyway. At least she doesn't think so. She doesn't actually know; she's never been in that situation, and she certainly hopes not to ever be.

If she were to use herself as a human shield, you can bet she'd be bitching about it to everyone in the afterlife.

She has a distinct line between her work-self and her off-work-self, meaning if she isn't on the clock and there's a crime going down, she's going the other way. Oh, someone is begging her to help them? She'll throw up a peace sign and then apparate away. Is she wearing her badge? No? Then it's not her problem.

At work, though, her attitude isn't much different. She'll help out because it's in her job description, but unless going above and beyond is going to A) get her some glory and B) let her escape unscathed, she's not going to risk a whole lot. She also doesn't fck around in a confrontation. Someone wants to go? She'll go. She'll fight dirty; she doesn't care. It's the winning and also not dying that matters, and she's not about to hesitate.

2) Write about the history of your character. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? It must be at least three paragraphs long, seven sentences each.

Nike's parents met in Puerto Rico. Her father was a traveling vacuum--ah, salesman, supposedly, but in reality he stole and then resold them--salesman from America and her mother a wandmaker's assistant. They hit it off quickly, both getting a kick out of eachother's jobs in different ways, and after three years they tied the knot. They had a happy, humor-filled marriage, and although the news of the pregnancy was a surprise, they were overjoyed about it. They'd discussed it, but they hadn't really gotten over the jitters enough to make any sort of decision, but--there it was! The decision had already been made, so they rolled with it.

Nike grew up in a home filled with laughter and love. Her parents rarely disagreed on anything, and they rarely told her no. She was quite the little troublemaker, often getting into things she shouldn't. Her mother had to start locking up anything she brought home from work lest Nike decide to almost blow up the block again with volatile ingredients.

Her first sign of magic showed up when she was nine. She was playing ball with the neighbor's kids in her backyard, and once again the ball went flying toward the window, which had already been broken countless times. She'd been threatened with being grounded for a week if they broke the window again, and she wasn't about to be confined to boredom for seven entire days. She reached out her hands toward the ball from across the yard, wishing she could catch it, and suddenly the ball changed course toward her instead of the window. Of course, it hit her right in the face and gave her a respectable bloody nose, but at least the window was intact.

She spent her first two years of school at Castelobruxo where her mother had gone, but in the summer before her third year, her mother got the opportunity to study wandmaking with the greats in England, so they packed up and moved.

At Hogwarts, Nike was sorted into Gryffindor after much contemplation from the Sorting Hat. It was a good fit--Nike blended right in with all the other dumb jocks who did stupid things for thrills and attention. She played quidditch all five years, first as a chaser but later as keeper. On a dare during the championship game, she mooned the other team after blocking their score.

She developed a reputation for skipping class--in fact, she was gone almost as much as she was there, but she was still able to skate by with passing grades, and even managed EE's on all her NEWTs--that is, the fact she showed up to take them was practically enough to earn her an O.

After Hogwarts, Nike moved in with her best friend from school, a potions whiz turned ambitious bartender who is very fond of experimenting and having Nike be the test subject. She wanted a fairly straightforward job, one that was respected but not boring and not terribly dangerous either, and ultimately she decided upon joining the Auror office.

Nike is not the best at her job, but she isn't the worst either. She knows what she's doing, but she's not the best at paying attention to details and she doesn't care all that much about protecting people, and it shows. That's not to say she's every neglected her duties enough to get someone hurt, but she much prefers to protect from afar rather than actually be in the thick of it.

One thing she is good at is interrogating suspects, simply because she's so chill. It's rather unnerving at times, and if asked (or ordered) to sit in an interrogation room and annoy a suspect into talking, she'll do it.

3) Write about your character's appearance. What do they look like? Are you planning on using a certain model for your character? If you already have a picture in mind, you can put it here!

Victoria Ortiz

4) Is your character a Pure-Blood, Half-Blood or Muggle-Born? Do you have any notable magical relations? (Remember, you cannot be related to important characters from the Harry Potter Universe!)

Half-blood

5) Does your character have any special magical abilities? Or special abilities in general (photographic memory, etc.)? Is he or she of a different magical race, such as Veela, Vampire, Werewolf or the like? Part or half of that magical race counts! (Remember, you cannot have a character with special abilities/of a different magical race as one of your first two characters!)

Nope

6) What is your character's profession? Does your character plan to enroll your character into the Ministry of Magic? Does your character not work? Is your character a teacher?

A standing auror, in the patrol division

OOC Questions

B. Whilst the first two questions will not affect the character's house (and are mandatory), the others are designed specifically to help users come up with their character's ideal job (and are optional).

1) Is this your first character?

A. This is my first character.
B. No, this is not my first character.

2) If your answer to the previous question is B, how many characters do you have? How many of them are "exotic"?

13 but 2 are dying p soon, 4 exotics

3) What would people who know your character well say they're really good at?

Nothing. Quidditch, maybe, but Nike was too busy goofing off in school to really excel at anything, and she's pretty mediocre at her job as well.

4) What do they really want to avoid in their job/career? Do they hate working in an office? Do they hate the field?

ideally she'd just not have a job altogether, but she has to live somehow

5) Aside from family and peers, what motivates your character the most in life? What drives their passion?

Nike's just here for a good mcfreaking time.

6) Where does your character's weaknesses lie?

she doesn't give enough shits 99.9% of the time, guaranteed or your money back

7) Wand cores and woods speak volumes about a person's character. What is your character's wand? Why does it answer to them?

Redwood and dragon heartstring, 9". Nike considers herself pretty lucky in general, and dragon heartstring is well-suited to her penchant for self-preservation. After all, can't defend yourself with a weak ass wand.
