They tried to exude an air of professionalism, opening doors and interviewing occupants while other's patrolled looking out for those who tried to escape. But the less experienced members couldn't help singing "Mudbloods, mudbloods, icky, dirty mudbloods" gleefully, in an eerie rendition of the Hogwarts School Song. Some muggleborns who could apparate fled the train (the Death Eaters didn't think that school children could apparate) but younger years stood little chance without help.

Send Me an Owl! - 04:50, September 19, 2011 (UTC)
The children of today are lucky, born in a world free from the evil that once enveloped Britain. However, what would it be like had they lived at the height of the last Wizarding War less than twenty years ago? Which side would they be on? Would they have survived?

Notes: Idea from another website, where all characters transported back to the past. Starts on the Hogwarts express, just before the Death Eaters board the train. If you are a muggleborn, lie about your blood purity or hide if you want to take part, Thomas Greene is going to be captured and will not appear later on.

Tom was very excited to be going to Hogwarts. Just a few weeks ago, Professor McGonagall had told him he was a wizard, that all the weird things that happened to him was actually magic. When he visted Diagon Alley, it had appeared very run down, because of some war that was happening. He had been worried, but everyone assured him that Hogwarts was the safest place in Britain.

He looked around, hoping to make a new friend.

Rosette sits quietly in the Slytherin Carriage, watching the empty fields flash by the window. As minutes tick by, her face turns into a small scowl as she thinks of how unimportant school is during a time such as this.

Ferlen would walk onto the train, and sit down next to Tom. "Hello...my name's Ferlen."

Karith would enter the compartment with Rose. He would sit across from her. "Hello Rose, so how was your summer?"

Rosette lets a small smile replace her scowl as she turns to Karith. "It's been...fine." Her smile leaves her face and she scrunches up her nose. "I've been busy. Thinking about everything that's been happening. You?"

Karith would nod. "The same." He would look around, then cast a charm to make sure they weren't overheard. "Been wondering if I should accept the invitation into the Death Eaters. My parents are all excited about it, and have been pushing me in that direction, but I'm not sure. I mean I agree that we shouldn't have to hide from the muggles, I'm just not sure about killing them all off, you know?" He would look at her, obviously hoping she had some sort of insight.

Rosette adopts a faraway look in her eyes as she thinks over his words. "We're not gods. Who are we to judge others? But there are muggles out there, those that created the witch hunts, those who believe everything they believe to be supernatural to be taken out. Freaks, unnatural they call us. And anyway, why should we have to hide who we truly are? We're magical, we can't change that. It's who and what we are."

The Food Trolley lady makes her rounds along the train, stopping to ask "Anything from the trolley, dears?" On her trolley are stacks of the Daily Prophet. The headlines scream out: 'DID THEY STEAL OUR MAGIC?- New research by Department of Mysteries find that magic is hereditary, Muggle-born Registration Commission formed to investigate claims of Magic theft.'

Notes: Buy anything from the trolley you want, the trolley lady does not have to confirm your purchases.

Karith would nod. "Exactly, we shouldn't have to hide our magic. The muggles should be able to deal with it. We're gifted with magic, so why shoudl we have to hide just because they aren't?" Karith would look at the headline on the newspaper as the trolley passed. "...but do you think they're really stealing our magic? I guess it would make sense...I just never thought that would be possible."

Rosette hums under her breath as she takes out her wand and twirls it around. "I don't know. I'll like to see it firsthand, how these muggles are able to steal our magic." She quickly looks around before deeming it safe and she leans into Karith to whisper, "My mother was an unspeakable and wrote in her notes that I found in our Family Vault that every person had at least a little bit of magic as a child. Most grow out of it and become our everyday muggle, while us, the fully magical folk that actually know it exist, our magic grows until we hit the max of our magical power. Maybe the muggles found a way to have their magic power to grow instead of disappear."

Karith would nod. "Or maybe they really have found a way to take it from wizards to make themselves more magical...." He would stop for a second, then shrug. "I guess it doesn't matter. Though I agree we should be able to show our magic, I don't think I'll be killing off muggles to do it....guess that answers the questions of the Death Eaters.....wonder how I'll tell my parents..." He would look back out the window glumly.

Rosette shakes her head and puts her wand behind her ear. "Denying the Death Eaters is as dangerous as fighting against them. They personally take 'If you're not with us, you're against us' motto very seriously. Neutrality is the best option. Or seem like you're working with them." She glares down to her left forearm. "I can't seem to understand the point of the Dark Mark. And hopefully never get it."

Karith nods. "I'll have to be very careful about how I approach it...but I definately don't plan on dying just for telling them no." He would rub his forarm. "The dark mark is to ensure your loyality...if it's branded magically on your skin, he holds utlimate power over you...if you betray him he can kill you, or just let it slip your his, and the mark is proof. It's an excellent way to ensure loyality...dark and demented as it may be."

Rosette is quiet for a moment, her eyes on the floor with her hands clinching and relaxing in her lap. "During his first rise, before he was widely known," she explains quietly, "my grandfather was one of his hands, his agent. When he was alive, I didn't judge him. I just ignored it." She scoffs as her hands turn into fist. "I don't believe in bowing down to others. If it all comes down to who I am loyal to, I'm only loyal to my family and friends."

Karith would let out a sigh. "That's all well and good Rose, but..." He would look at her, catching her eyes. "...what do you do when you're not sure your family is on the right side?"

Rosette frowns and looks out the window. "It's their chose, Karith. While you may tell them of your own opinions, it's their chose in the end. Like my brother, he's thinking of becoming a snacher. They're not really part of the Dark Lord's inner circle, so he won't be marked. Just working for him. It'll keep him safe. As long as he doesn't cross paths with insane Bellatrix Lestrange." She squints her eyes as she notices something on the tracks around the bend they were about to take. "What is that?"

Rosette's frown deepens before her face clears. "It's a person." She turns sharply to Karith with wide eyes. "Death Eater. But why here? Why the train?"

The train screeches to a halt as people in black cloaks and white masks apparate onto the train. The lead Death Eater among them walks into the carriages from the engine, where he had stunned the driver. "Sonorus" He whispers. "Attention!
