The children of today are lucky, born in a world free from the evil that once enveloped Britain. However, what would it be like had they lived at the height of the last Wizarding War less than twenty years ago? Which side would they be on? Would they have survived?
Notes: Idea from another website, where all characters transported back to the past. Starts on the Hogwarts express, just before the Death Eaters board the train. If you are a muggleborn, lie about your blood purity or hide if you want to take part, Thomas Greene is going to be captured and will not appear later on.
Death Eaters reach Ferlen's and Thomas' compartment, alerted by the sound of breaking glass. One sees a bloodied Winnona limping outside and apparates outside to retrieve her. "You better hope you haven't got a drop of mudblood's blood in you or it's off to Azkaban with you." He grinned. The other Death Eater looks at Ferlen and Tom, bunch of little firsties. "Hey there." She said "Don't be afraid. Nothing's gonna happen to you guys if you just answer one question truthfully."

OOC: I assume you wanted Winonna to be captured since you are playing this game (from her profile, she's pureblood or maybe halfblood, why'd she bolt?). Even with the "special magic" her uncle taught her (remember that reducto is probably something you don't learn in first year), the height of a train window above the ground is very high and if you simply jump out you would sprain an ankle
A team of five Death Eaters enter the Prefect's Carriage. They were very cautious, coming in with wands raised, worried that some Gryffindor might decide to go hero on them. The carriage had very few prefects, only six of them, meaning that most of the mudbloods, halfbloods and blood traitors hadn't bothered to show up this year. The leader relaxes a little and spies Karith in the corner with another Slytherin, "My... Black was it? The Dark Lord is looking forward to you joining his ranks, though He would understand if you preferred to wait till you graduated my boy. And, who is your lady friend here? Pureblood I assume?"
Rosette shares a look with Karith before turning to the Death Eater that spoke to her. "Rosette Raina Falco, originally Rain Angelica Falco, granddaughter to Ryan Valourus, who I know without a doubt you knew to be an agent of the Dark Lord. Pureblood, obviously, being a daughter to Joseph Valourus and Abigail Salacor. I was adopted by an American Pureblood family, Steve Falco and Nora Dunn."
Karith would nod. "As she said, pureblood. ...and obviously I would like to give my best for the dark lord, and I believe finishing my education would be the best way to go about that...unless, of course, the dark lord has other plans for me. In that case I will, of course, do as he asks."
Ferlen would stand and look at the death eaters, then begin speaking with distain, like they were worms below his feet. Though he didn't much care about being a pure-blood he had been taught how to act noble and aristicratic.
"My name is Ferlen Kiadus Sirius Black, and of course I'm a pure-blood! How dare you question the purity of a Blacks blood, as we are one of the oldest families." He would look between them. "Or prehaps I need to contact my Cousin Belladrix Lestrage to convince you...." He would glare at them for a second letting the threat sink in. Finally he would wave his hand. "...and as for my friend, we've known each other for years, and do you really think my parents would let me play and make friends with Mmuggle filth? I don't think so..."
With a wave of his hand he would effectively dismiss the Death Eaters and if they were his servants, and coldly turn back to Thomas. "Now, what were you saying about how appropriate it is to round the muggles into camps and use them for slave labor?"
Tom startled a little at the sudden change in demeanor of the boy next to him. "Well, at least it would let them contribute to society for a change." He said shakily, very aware he was talking about himself. Tom still didn't really know what was happening, but it seem like everyone here was trying to reenact the events of Nazi Germany that his school covered just a few months ago.
"Nice to meet you Ms Falco. And I hope you don't terribly mind this disruption, but it is essential for the British Pureblood cause" The Death Eater gave a little bow. He turned to Karith, "He would rather the current students of Hogwarts remain to graduate. Education is important for the next generation of leaders." He looks around to see the rest of his team finishing their questioning. "We haven't got many mudbloods today, mostly the firsties who just wandered onto the Hogwarts express expecting to go to school." He laughed. "The upper years who did show up bolted but no worries, the Snatchers will clean them up real easy." "Pity we didn't manage to get Potter today though, but guess even Dumbledore's Golden Boy will go hiding with the Dark Lord looking for him."
"Well, nice to meet you all, and if you are interested in being a Death Eater Ms Falco, Black here can help set you up.
The Death Eater was startled, and a little offended. How the little tyke had gone from speaking rudely to her then ignoring her. But she couldn't give the spoiled brat a piece of her mind, especially not since he was a Black. They were all Purebloods in here, but some Purebloods were more equal than others. She listened as the other boy responded, sounding like he was simply parroting Black, a Wormtail if she had ever seen one.
The other Death Eater apparates with Winnona into the compartment. The first Death Eater recognises her as the daughter of Knyfe, a traitor from the first war. "She ain't no mudblood, but her father betrayed the Dark Lord. One more stunt like that and I think the Carrows would definitely have fun with her."
OOC: I think I have to keep Thomas because there's not enough people. Brought Winnona back onto the train, if she was meant to escape and disappear from the story, Elviaalova can do that when the death eaters leave.
Karith would give the Death Eaters a nod. "I'm sure Miss Falco and I will be discussing it." He would turn back to her and continue their conversation. "So, how differently do you think school will be this year with a Slytherin Headmaster?"
Ferlen would nod to Thomas still ignoring the Death Eaters. "I agree. As slaves they would have a solid purpose, be decently well taken care of, and be helping society to grow in ways they couldn't dream of. Besides, without magic what use do they have other than our grunt work?"
Rosette smiles at the Death Eaters as they leave the compartment. "Too bad about Potter. The entire country is going to be looking for him." She turns to Karith. "Grateful that we won't have to listen to anymore of Dumbledore's insanity. And that Slytherins are now scene as the future of the England Magical World."
"Yeah, yeah" He agreed nervously. Inside he was worried. He could have screwed up there, not knowing the differences between the terms mudblood, muggleborn and muggle. If he had been caught, their whole act would have been ruined. It was a good thing he didn't need to show his lack of knowledge. He needed to learn more if he had to keep up an act every minute of the day at Hogwarts.
The death eater left the compartment, she'd have her revenge some day. Humiliate the boy's father before the Dark Lord.
Elsewhere on the train, the Death Eaters have finished their search, dragging out mudbloods in magical restraints. It was a good haul. sonorus said the lead Death Eater. "Children, our search is complete. Your fellow students are in no danger. If they are found to be innocent of the crime of magic theft, they will return to school with you all. If they are guilty, they will be punished accordingly." finite With that the Death Eaters left the train and the train continued on its journey to Hogwarts.
Karith would give Rose a signifigant look. "Well, that went about as expected. You and I will have to talk about this further when we're sure we won't be overheard."
"No worries, you were actually pretty good." Tom said as he watched Ferlen switch between personalities effortlessly. "But now I'd have worse to worry about. In school, it would be harder for me to hide from people I will see all the time. We were lucky that woman just now didn't even bother to ask for my name. And if they find out about me, they will find out about my family. What can I do?
Ferlen would think hard. "I...I really don't know, but I don't think anyone will be checking anytime soon since they did just check on the train. I would say make up a new name....but doesn't the school already know who you are, and your blood-status? If they do, it's not like Snape will help...he's right in You-Know-Who's innner circle..." Ferlen would grow silent, trying to think of how to help.
"Yeah" Tom said, shaking his head. "They would definitely have my name and address, 'cos isn't that how they sent my letter?" he paused to think "but I guess they don't know who come from magical families if they didn't just ask for my name and grabbed me to where they have taken the others."
"Professor MacGonagall had told me that some purebloods don't like muggleborns but I never thought it would be that bad." Tom turned to Ferlen to ask "No offense, but why don't you hate me?"
Ferlen would look confused. "Why would I hate you because your parents are muggles? ...I mean...isn't that like hating you because you have brown hair, or blue eyes? Seems pretty dumb to hate someone over something they can't control." He would think for a second. "...and it seems dumb to not like muggles just because they can't use magic." He would let out a sigh. "I guess I just don't understand why I shouldn't like you. Anyway, we're about there, so lets enjoy the ride to the castle across the lake."
The train pulls into Hogsmead station. Outside, the students can see Hagrid ready to guide the first years to the shores of the Black Lake while the horseless carriages line upon the road, preparing to take the upper years up the road to the castle.
Tom follows Ferlen into the boat. He did feel better that his new friend did not think any less of him because he came from a non-magical family. He now wondered what he should tell his family. Should he owl them and tell them of the dangers they might face? Or would owling them just make them worry about him and attract attention to them? His eyes teared slightly, this wasn't quite the school year that he had been looking forward to.
The carriages rolled up towards Hogwarts while the boats left their moorings. The Giant Squid waved a tentacle at the new arrivals. It was not long before the first years would reach the landing while the upper years would reach the Grand Entrance.
Karith would be inside the castel with Rose, waiting at the Slytherin table for the sorting to begin. "I'm hungry...what do you think's taking the first years so long?"
Rosette shrugs as she watches the entrance into the Great Hall. "Maybe they are being double checked, make sure that there are no muggleborns here...Or the Giant Squid went crazy and ate them all."
Karith would let out a chuckle. It felt good to laugh after the tension on the train. "Once we get everyone settled, what do you say about going for a walk around the lake and talking about things?"
The first years are lead into the Great Hall as the sorting hat starts his song for the year.
