1) Give a history of your character. History must be at least two paragraphs long. How did they grow up? Is there an incident that made them the way they are? etc.

Kijai Suruma, a muggle girl from Kampala, never knew what she'd get into when she married Lutalo Okello of the rather well-known Ugandan Okello family. The family was among Uganda's oldest wizarding family, it's origins being able to be traced as far back as the late 1600s. What set apart the Okellos from the other families, however, was that blood purity meant near enough nothing to them - resulting that muggles, half-bloods and pure-bloods made up the family.

It was through these muggle members that Kijai's grandfather, Kato, got acquainted with the family. By knowing Lutalo's muggle step-grandfather, Kato was able to arrange a marriage between Kijai and the aforementioned. At the young age of 19, Kijai entered one of the largest wizarding families in East Africa. From day one, Kijai knew her marriage was for the honour and not for the love. One little fact that Kato forgot to mention, was that Kijai had been predicted to be infertile - her chances of getting pregnant and seeing it through were very slim and near enough non-existential.

The first couple of years of their marriage was spent trying to conceive a child with little success. The branch of which Lutalo hailed from was among the most prestigious and royalty-like of the Okello family and as such, an 'heir' of sorts had to be conceived. After three years of trying, Lutalo was ready to divorce Kijai and move onto another woman when it was announced that she was in fact pregnant and that the baby was healthy enough to survive the pregnancy. 9 months later, a bouncing baby boy was born - who they promptly named Zesiro.

Accepting that Kijai probably wouldn't have any more children, Lutalo moved the family into a large house near Kampala, shaded by trees and hidden from the muggle view. For the early years of Zesiro's life, everything was picture perfect. His father worked at a high position in the Uganda's ministry of magic whilst his mother worked at a muggle school as the deputy headmistress. Although he attended the school his mother worked at, Zesiro was raised with magic at home. From a very early age his parents had stressed that his family wasn't like others and anything that happened at home stayed at home and that the consequences of him telling others would be far greater than the punishments he was used to. Up until the age of 9, this was Zesiro's life.

At 9, Zesiro had his first magical experience. At a paternal family gathering, Zesiro and his mother were inside looking at all the different members of the family before them. Accompanying them was the head of the Okellos, Lutalo's great-grandmother. At the end of one of the corridors, a glass pane that was used to cover the portraits was propped up against the wall. Hoping that Zesiro was in fact magical, his mother and great-great-grandmother watched with bated breath as the pane shattered into tiny fragments - confirming that he did belong to the wizarding community. It was after that incident that the magic used at home became increasingly influential.

When he was 11, Zesiro was sent his letter to attend an African wizarding school in which his parents immediately equipped him for. Sadly, it was from this rather memorable event that Zesiro's life began to decline. To begin with, he became interested in Quidditch - a sport his family deemed common and misleading towards their version of the grand scheme of life. To his family, life was about being employed by a ministry of magic, whether it be Uganda's or another nations, and working up the ladder until they had enough wealth to live comfortably whilst bearing more children for the legacy to continue. When Lutalo first found out of his son's interest, he tried his best to ignore it by the pleas of Kijai who's main concern was her son's happiness rather than the bloodline. This difference in views sparked a long chain of arguments between the two as the marriage broke down, eventually to the point where they faked happiness when Zesiro was around in order to assure him nothing was wrong.

The façade didn't last more than a year and around Zesiro's 12th birthday, Kijai was found dead in the family home. Although the authorities couldn't find any trace of the murder weapon or murderer, they ruled out suicide as reports claimed she was a happy family woman who loved life. In the wizarding community, however, it was guessed that the Okello family had disposed of her as they believed divorce was a sign of a doomed life. For the next year, Lutalo tried to convince his son that Quidditch was pointless and that ministry work was the way forward. Sadly for Zesiro, Quidditch had become an escape from the real world and he had no intentions to give it up - many of his classmates stating he was a natural seeker and that he could play for Uganda one day. When realising his son didn't want to give the sport up, Lutalo disowned him, stating that the disgrace he brought was too much and that he had to be gone, sending him to his mother's muggle family back in the capital.

Kijai's family were very accepting of the 13 year old and even though they themselves weren't magical, they fully supported Zesiro's endeavours. In his 5th year, his school brought in an alumna, Acacia Sekibo to lead a Quidditch workshop. It was there that Zesiro was first noticed professionally for his skill - Acacia telling him that his seeker abilities were among the best she had seen and that, if he worked on it, he could play for Uganda. That became Zesiro's dream instantly.

For the next couple of years, he trained hard to enhance his seeker ability and after having a gap year once leaving school, Zesiro signed up for the Patonga Proudsticks, who he now plays for as seeker.

2) Give a description of your character's personality. Personality must be at least one paragraph long. Are you noble or sneaky? Arrogant or humble?

Zesiro is on the border between talkative and shy. Since the age of 13 he's felt guilty for being part of his family and as such he rarely talks as people assume his personality mirrors that of his paternal relatives. When he does talk, his distinctive humour and laugh are often left in people's thoughts long after the conversation has ceased. He's very much a man who admires the attitudes of the western world and more often than not, often forgets his African values. Deep down he accepts that his mother's death was caused by his love for Quidditch which is why he sometimes doesn't like to talk about the sport. He's very much a fan of looking up to people - his current admiration is Acacia Sekibo, who he views as his mentor, a good friend and in some cases, a mother figure.

MoM Zesiro Okello has been registered as a citizen by the British Ministry of Magic!

"Upon the signature of the International Statute of Secrecy in 1689, wizards went into hiding for good. It was natural, perhaps, that they formed their own small communities within a community."
