History
Born in Argyllshire in the late 1930s to Oona O'Gill and Herman Hesleden. Hortense 'Hebe' Hesleden is part hag, Her mother Oona was a hag, who used a beauty potion to attract the Pure-Blood Herman. Upon seeing Oona's true form he fled in horror.
Hortense or Hebe as she prefers to be called, is old, nearly 90 possibly older, as she does not celebrate a birthday her age remains unknown. After her father Herman left, Oona began teaching Hebe how to use her magic. The first thing she taught her was how to brew.
With her soulless coal black eyes, sickly pale skin and a wild nest of hair, she is her mother's daughter. The very first time Hebe took the potion she appeared like any other normal female with very fair skin and dark hair, some how retaining her cold black eyes.
Being born a magical child, Hebe received a letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. She was sorted into Hufflepuff, there was no other place for her. It could be the blame of her outcast status but Hebe was very competitive toward the other students, outshining a few of them in her studies.
She grew into a very powerful witch, becoming a skilled Potioneer with a strange natural affinity for Herbology. She is also very talented in Charms, Transfiguration and Dark Arts. She is able to transform into a (unregistered) Gecko animagus.
Appearance
In her youth Hebe looked similar to the way she looks today, her pale skin has taken on more of a green tinge, her wild black hair is white/grey and her eyes retain their cold blackness.
Because of her use of beautification potions Hebe does not let anyone see her true self. If she is not in her gecko form she can often be seen as a fair skinned woman with dark or red hair.
Personality
Hebe is very strange, she has a basic understanding of why other humans display the emotions they do. She has a bad habit of eavesdropping on conversations both in her humanoid form and her gecko form.
She ritually uses a beautification potion to change her appearance, if she ventures into the public. Hebe is often in her gecko form, she enjoys the feeling of skittering around mostly undetectable, when in the proper environment.
Hebe graduated from Hogwarts and she made her home out of torpedo wreckage somewhere very deep in Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. She found comfort in the familiar surroundings. After the death of her mother, her home in the Loch is all she really has.
