Hogsmeade Manor |
 Hogsmeade Manor, located just outside the magical village of Hogsmeade, is the official residence of the magical British Royal Family near Hogwarts. It isn't uncommon for the younger royals who attend Hogwarts to reconvene here and spend the weekends in it's halls, opposed to returning to the many castles dotted around Scotland. Like many muggle counterparts, part of the mansion is opened up to the magical public to enable them to feel in tune with their monarchy whilst the vast majority is closed off for the royals themselves. |

Juliet was in desperate need of a hiding spot, and the Hogsmeade Manor was on the top of her list for go-to places to hide. She was laying on the living room couch in her own misery and tears, thinking over and over 'I'm never leaving this couch. This is where I shall die.' She had never felt more embarrassed of herself, which said a lot. She had tripped and been clumsy in front of large crowds of people, said things that she's instantly regret to plenty of important people, and had caught stares from the countless other foolish decisions she's made, but she would do it all over again if only to take back what she had done. She regretted ever confessing her true feelings through a text message, but also understood that it wouldn't make a difference. In fact, it may have softened the blow for her. Chloe Dubois was not in love with Juliet, and she certainly didn't like the idea of Juliet being in love with her. She was so foolish for ever thinking it could have been otherwise. Letting out a loud and frustrated groan, she turned her head to her favorite person in the whole world, Piper. Piper, who had been there for her since the beginning of this all. Piper, who had listened to all her feelings and worries and thoughts. Piper, who had faked an entire relationship just for Juliet. "I'm so stupid, and I don't think I'll ever be able recover from this."

Aoibh wasn't sure if Jude knew about what had happened when he pulled out of the engagement. He didn't say anything when she texted him and he seemed completely fine when she walked past him in the hallway. Of course, when she saw Hana-she turned on her heel and left. Not that she thought Hana knew but that didn't mean Aoibh wanted to come near her. Once again, they were in the manor but this time all the curtains were closed and she wasn't looking at any of the visiting muggles. As she waited for Jude, she was staring at the table and was trying every cleaning spell she knew to try and get rid of a stain. It was faint but Aoibh could see it, so that was the only thing she was focusing on. It was either that or pacing.

Jude does know; of course he does. If he's honest he's a little surprised his mother even agreed to change the arrangement in the first place. Maybe she does care about his happiness, at least a bit? Not that he's happy that his girlfriend doesn't want to marry him, but he's happier knowing he won't be trapping her in a marriage she didn't want in the first place. "Are you okay?" is the first thing out of his mouth when he opens the door and spots her serious expression - Merlin, he's going to have to owl his mother again and ask her to make sure the next one is actually willing to marry him. "I, uh- we've got a lot to talk about."

When Jude burst into entered the manor, Aoibh jumped, her wand clattering onto the wand, causing sparks to fly out but they all dissipated quickly and her chair scraped back against the ground as she got onto her feet. "Yes," she said but she didn't clarify which one she was saying yes too. "Look, I just want to say, I-I know I'm not Hana. I know I'm not the one you want. And I know we've talked about this before but I never really thought we'd actually be engaged. We can make this work, though, right? If we actually do walk down the aisle. If you still want to be with Hana, I'm completely okay with that." The words just kept on leaving her mouth but could you blame her? She's been overthinking it ever since she found out. What if Jude was completely disgusted by this arrangement? Hated her because she's not the one he really wants? People say they're okay with a lot of things hypothetically but then when reality comes, they do a complete one eighty.

"Jude-I don't...I don't have anyone else I can think of that I'd want to marry. I'm barely sixteen, I can't even give a teacup legs for class let alone think who I want to spend the rest of my life with. Which reminds me, I still need to master that spell, I'm so bad at it. I think the professor is going to fail me. I just know it'll be on the practical," Aoibh said, getting very off topic and she had to drag herself back to reality. There was a part of Aoibh that was the hopeless romantic. The type to dream that whoever she was going to marry, they'd eventually fall in love and live happily ever after. Of course, this wasn't going to happen with Jude. And when he essentially said I'm not going to love you like that, it stung. Not because she was interested in Jude, it was just the ripping of the band-aid. "An open marriage. That can work. We can make that work, we can work with one another. I don't see any reason why this has to change our friendship."

"I'll help you," he offers quickly, waving off her concern. He would have anyway, marriage or no, but now he guesses he really should, right? But Hana wouldn't need help with spells. He's quick to get back on topic, though: "And if you do fall in love with someone and want to marry them instead- we can divorce. That's fine. I'm not going to force you into anything, okay? But I think we'll be fine. As a team."

"How do we even do divorce? Like, as royals? Is it the same as with normal citizens or do we need permission? Would we be like those in the olden days, where we have to pretend to be caught having an affair and all that?" Aoibh was really, really, needing some experience in the normal world. "Sorry. That...that doesn't matter. I just haven't researched a lot of things in this world. But we can be a team. Nothing anymore is conventional but that doesn't make what we have wrong. Does it? We'll make everyone happy, we'll make each other happy-in our own way. And all that. It'll be fine."

He nods emphatically, because hearing her say it too makes it feel like this is manageable. Jude likes manageable. "I- asked my mother to change the arranged marriage, because it was Hana at first but she said she didn't want it and I didn't want to force her if she doesn't want me. You know? And then she told me it was you now and- well. We're friends. I'm glad. That's all I really need, in an arranged marriage."

Even though Aoibh was as dumb as rocks, she could see Jude wasn't feeling the topic. Because why else would he shrug like that? "And so much can happen between now and when we marry-who knows what will happen! We could end up living in France!"
