It's her eighteenth birthday and while a lot of eighteen year old women would love to go to a large dance and pretend it's theirs, that is Bunny's nightmare birthday scenario. After texting her best friend, she was dragging her through the Hogsmeade National Forest out to this beautiful place. It was dark out - the ball was raging back at Hogwarts - so their wands were lit and she had a lantern tucked away in her backpack for once they arrived. Approaching the entrance, she hovers her wand over the snowy rocks and looks back at Nova. "Be careful walking down. I know you're smart, but it's slippery and I don't want you dying," she says, smiling slightly. The smile doesn't really match the words. "Go first. I'll catch you if you slip."

Nova's phone buzzes every couple of minutes with texts from her date for the ball whom she cancelled on less than an hour ago, and on its latest notification she finally removes it from her pocket and blocks the number on her phone and his user on Witchagram, trying not to step on anything while she's distracted. She has her old wand on her so that Bunny doesn't get too suspicious and she managed to nonverbally light it, not that she needs it to see, anyway with the heightened vision. They reach the entrance of the cave and Nova enters with zero hesitation; it's not like Bunny's taking her here to kill her or anything, and she could easily take any monster the forest has to offer. "How'd you find this place?"

Watching her friend walk in front of her, she smiles more so to herself and follows behind her with a small ounce of happiness to her step. It reminds her of the older days of showing Nova a cool thing and everything being alright again. Entering the cave, the snow tapers off and they're left with wet, mossy stone beneath their feet. "I went out with a friend, hiking and shit. It scared her though, so we stayed up there," she says, motioning to the trail they had come down from. "I came back on my own a couple of days ago to properly look at it and thought you would really like it." There's a proud grin on her face before she stops and motions for Nova to do the same, setting down her backpack on a large, seat-like ledge before pulling out the lantern and lighting it. It's exceptionally bright and illuminates a good portion of the surrounding cave - far better than any Muggle technology. After setting it on the ground, she looks up to watch the other girl's reaction.

Nova is too busy dwelling on which friend Bunny could be possibly referring to this time, when the cave suddenly lights up. At least now she has an excuse to stop trying to use her wand; just having it out is a bit of a depressing reminder. She's quickly distracted from that thought when she takes in her surroundings. "You thought correctly." she says, grinning, before she turns to where Bunny is standing. "You know me so well."

"Right, it's almost like we've known each other for over ten years," she says, tone bland as she turns away from Nova to look at their shadows on the cave walls. It reminds her of some...philosophy or something that she read about ages ago. It must not matter much if she doesn't remember it. "We missed our ten year friendiversay by the way. Not sure if you noticed." Bunny glances back at her friend, giving her a small, almost sad smile.

"Of course I did." she says, sounding offended that Bunny's even implying she forgot. It was always Nova, after all, who made a big fuss about posting a picture of the two of them on Witchagram or doing something fun and adventurous to celebrate so that everyone knew it was their day. And of course she remembered this year; she remembers staring at her phone all day, fighting the urge to call. "You know what? We can celebrate now. It's officially June 23rd." It's cold, nothing at all like the summers they used to celebrate, but Nova seems pretty adamant. "I mean, fuck Christmas, right? You're more important."

Bunny smiles a little at that, but it's still a bit pathetic until Nova suggests celebrating now. It brightens a bit, almost making it cheesy. "Well, this isn't really what you wanted for our ten year, is it?" she asks, turning her focus on her friend, but her eyes continued to wander. It's still a bit difficult actually looking at her sometimes. Like in the old days when she thought Nova was her soulmate - platonically of course. Her fingers start toying with her zipper before she remembers that she wants to look cool. "But I brought butterbeer. Non-alcoholic because getting out of here will be tough enough sober. I stole some treats from the kitchens too. It's- It's something. I don't know." She lets out a nervous laugh. Her chest hurts a little bit, but she isn't sure if her heart is just aching because...this day - June 23rd - really haunted her this year and she has been waiting for this conversation since they met up at the pub.

She makes her way to the other girl and gets a bottle from the bag, her fingers brushing Bunny's for just a second as she secures one in her grip. The contact makes her feel a bit... nervous? That's the only explanation for the odd feeling in her chest, like something's just constricted her heart. "It's you. It's everything." she reassures her, sounding nonchalant as she uses a nearby gap in the stone interior to get the bottle cap off. "And believe me, my plans for our ten year were grand. Everyone would've been talking about it." It's always an added bonus that their antics get Nova more attention. "But you'll have to wait for next year to see."

"I'm content with that," she says, cracking open her own butterbeer with her teeth. She learned because some straight girl told her it was attractive. It comes in handy sometimes. Bunny then reaches down to her shoulder into the bag before finding the blanket she had taken from her dormitory. Placing her drink down on the stone (but not before taking a couple of swigs), she lays out the red blanket on the stone floor and sits down, moving the lantern to be in the middle of it. "Are you sure you're not gay, Nova? That's pretty gay of you," she says, winking as she pats the blanket next to her.

She's quick to roll her eyes, attempting to flatten out a small roll in the cloth between them. It's ineffective of course because one of them has to move for it to work, but that's okay. She's more than okay with just sitting there and fiddling with it until her eyes go back up to Nova's. "We've gone over this. All because you have only dated guys doesn't mean you don't like girls," she says, tone a little sad and bothered. It's a little biphobic of her to use that as an excuse, but she decides to hold back on that. She knows Nova is probably straight anyways. It's equally as problematic that she keeps pushing. "And no, Nova. It turns out we can enjoy each other's company without planning out every little detail." If they were closer again, she would probably rest her head against the other girl's in that moment. Except there's quite a few inches between them - maybe even a foot, but she's never been good at judging.

It feels so vague and awkward, but then she's reminded that that's because Nova doesn't really know the specifics and therefore can't inquire about them. "I went on a coffee date with Katie the other week, but we decided we aren't really cut out for the relationship side of things, so," she says, tilting her head and raising her eyebrows to hint at what she really means. Dates rarely led anywhere for Bunny and she knows that. She doesn't think she's such a miserable person to be around, but sometimes it makes her question. "What about you? Any boys scraping at your feet?"

"That's unfortunate." she drawls in response to the Katie thing. She's not trying to sound sarcastic, but there's really no surprise there. People never seem to stick with Bunny, but Nova's never thought that was a problem on her best friend's end. "You'll find the one eventually, I"m sure. She wouldn't have been able to keep up with you, anyway." Nova doesn't mean it as a bad thing. There are few people she'd consider 'enough' to keep up with Bunny; until now, Nova has a difficult time believing anyone's worthy of her. "And yes, I guess. Nothing new there. I was supposed to go to the ball with this Slytherin named Peter, but I cancelled on him like, what? Twenty minutes ago? So, that might be a massive pain to deal with soon." She shrugs.

"It isn't really, and I don't believe that you think that," she says, looking down at Nova with a bit of smugness. "It's better it happened sooner rather than later so I won't catch feelings." Or will catch weaker ones at least. Bunny sips at her butterbeer as she listens to Nova finish, not thinking too much of it. To be honest, she would rather not hear about her escapades with men, but she isn't sure why that annoys her so much. She assumes it's because men are the root of all evil and it's just out of simple hatred for them. Maybe it isn't though. At that thought, her eyes flicker away from the other girl and she turns her head to look at the ceiling of the cave. When she's done, she turns back to look at her with a bright grin. "Ooh, you cancelled on someone for me? Aren't I special?" she teases, tone playful as she reaches to the side and taps Nova on the arm with the back of her hand. "If he gives you a hassle, tell him to come talk to me."

Of course Bunny's special, but Nova feels that she's already been overly sappy and honest with her in an effort to earn her total forgiveness and it doesn't seem to be working – she might just be getting weirded out. Novita Sriyata doesn't do vulnerability, after all. "He won't be a problem." Nova says dismissively. He may have nearly a foot on her but Nova's probably stronger than an entire Quidditch team combined with her new powers, so she isn't too worried. "I've dealt with these things before," Overly pushy boys who think she's easy have always been a problem for her, it's nothing new. "No big deal."

Of course Bunny knows she's special to Nova, or at least that the other girl wants her to think that. She wasn't expecting a response and it's clear by how easily she drops it. However, she won't drop the boy thing. "Really?" she asks despite not really being shocked by this news. First of all, she talks to straight boys. Second of all, she's a catch and it's no wonder that boys will stoop so low to try to get her affection or - because these are straight boys - try to punish her for not giving it. "Being used to it doesn't mean you don't deserve better, you know that, right? And it doesn't mean I can't help you. I'll hex 'em."

"I don't need your permission and you know that," she smirks slightly, lifting a brow. Of course she wouldn't purposefully jeopardize one of Nova's relationships (no matter how tempting - or else she would have tried on Morgan le Fey ages ago), but she's pretty certain the other girl has already done that for herself. Her hexing the boy won't make it worse, she doubts it. But she notices that grin and while it's amazing seeing her like that, she can't help the way her smirk strengthens and she leans in slightly. "Why so confident, Sriyata? I see that look."

Her eyes narrow and she lets Nova's words linger for a moment, trying to decide if she believes them or not. That usually means no, but they're in such a touchy spot right now that she isn't sure she should push. Whatever, if they stop being friends again over this, then they shouldn't be friends to begin with. "I know you do, and it is. You know it amuses me." It's pretty attractive too, watching Nova beat or mentally break down a boy that's been a prick to her. Bunny takes a deep breath before pushing again. "But that's not it. What is it?"

Nova hesitates. On one hand it seems unfair that Az and Morgan (for fuck's sake) know about her condition and Bunny doesn't. Bunny's supposed to know everything about her, but she feels that she still hasn't been absolved yet of her disappearance and telling Bunny she was attacked by a vampire in Knockturn Alley seems like a bit of a cop out. "It's nothing." she says finally, "I just think I've gotten a lot stronger lately." Not a complete lie, but Bunny would probably assume she's talking about the light nymph abilities, hopefully.

She did know how to do that, she had just mastered it before the attack so the reminder is a bit... sad. Nova doesn't let it show, and instead shakes her head and lies easily. "I haven't gotten that advanced yet." she says simply, "They can, though. I'll probably figure it out soon enough, I mean, it's me." When prompted for a demonstration, though, Nova falters. "And it's night in the middle of winter, Bunny, the sun's not exactly out and shining." Nova chuckles. It's actually a miracle that Nova isn't sleepy or curling up comfortably next to Bunny like a cat as she used to, but Nova doesn't think Bunny thinks much of it anyway.

Considering she's fearful to make physical contact with Nova, she isn't shocked that the other girl might have the same opinions of her. She missed Nova in general even listening to her talk about boys. She's never really wanted to to listen to someone talk about boys before, but with Nova, she really just wants to listen to her talk. Nova lets out a laugh at that, the throwback to their last conversation amusing her. "I swear no one will get to see it before you." she says, involuntarily placing her hand on top of Bunny's as if to solidify the promise. She's a bit uneasy; she doesn't know when she's going to be able to do any light nymph trick ever again, but she knows she will, and by then she'll have repaired her friendship with Bunny, too, and everything will be back to normal. "As if I like anyone else enough to even consider not putting you first."

Of course she laughs when Nova does, but her eyes awkwardly turn down towards their hands and her breath hitches for a moment. She's quick to take care of her breathing and make sure it returns to normal, but she can't help the hesitation. It feels normal and right, but at the same time she hasn't felt this sort of touch from the other girl in ages. She reaches over and places her other hand on top of hers for a moment before pulling it away again. "Wow, the highest honor. Thank you," she says with a dip of her head and a cheesy grin. "I- Uh, yeah." She would go on about how much she's missed her, but in her head, she's done that a bunch already.

Nova hadn't even noticed that she had initiated contact with Bunny, that's how natural it feels, but now she just feels guilty. Was it too much? "Yeah." she echoes, feeling out of place but at the same time she knows that feeling is ridiculous – she and Bunny are meant to be together. There's no way she could be out of place here, next to her. Her eyes dart around the cave another time, before settling on Bunny again. "This place is still so great." she says, changing the topic. "We should come back here more often. Make it our spot."

'Our spot' sounds oddly romantic, but maybe that's because she has low standards for romance. Also she's misread the signs before when they were younger too. No, she knows Nova is straight. She just doesn't understand why everything she says has to be so romantic or attractive. For what? Merlin, she's not sure she can do this friendship again. "We should. I think that would be...amazing, yeah. We could really establish dominance over the area. Maybe make a flag," Bunny smiles and she reaches up to fix her fringe before faces the darkness of the cave. Of course Nova would like it here. "I'm glad you like it. Clearly you haven't changed too much, huh?"

The comment about change hits a little too close to home and words end up leaving her mouth before she has the mind to filter any of them. "I'd hope so." she says, looking contemplative. Many things have changed and Nova isn't entirely sure if she's still the same after everything that's happened, but she can hope, right? And surely if Bunny thinks so, then maybe it isn't too far from the truth. "I mean, I'm still me. I know I vanished for a bit there, but everything will go back to normal quickly enough, I'm sure."

Obviously things have changed, but she keeps seeing things that make her think that everything isn't as complicated as she thought it was. "I know and we don't have to talk about it," she says with a small shrug and what's hopefully a reassuring smile. She loves Nova regardless of what happened, she's decided. Bunny has gotten herself involved in far worse - the necromancers and all. She isn't very talented in that realm of magic. She...really doesn't understand why she's involved with them now that her life has started to take shape again. Was she really so lonely and desperate? "You're still Nova and...you know I'll love you, as Nova, regardless. Or Novita if you ever go by that." She laughs lightly.

Nova laughs too, but there's a sense of dread that's suddenly come over her. Bunny will always love her... as Nova, but she's not Nova anymore, now is she? She's not a light nymph, she can't even play Quidditch, she can't even step out in the fucking sun anymore when it used to be her favorite thing in the world just basking in the light – her own mother doesn't seem to love her anymore because she's lost everything that defined her. "I love you too." she says quietly, "No matter what happens. Always."

Being sappy is a lot more bearable when she's the one doing it. Hearing Nova talk like that gives her chills and she almost wants to vomit. It doesn't feel real (even though she believes her or is at least choosing to) and part of her wants to shut down just thinking about it. "No matter what," she repeats, holding out a hand for Nova to hold if she wants to. They used to hold hands all of the time as friends and nothing more. It shouldn't change now, so she thinks. "And I can't wait to make this our spot. I can set a backpack aside with all of the essentials like an emergency kit. You text, and we're here. Anytime. Always." And she realizes she wouldn't really care to do that for anyone else and she kind of hates herself for it. She's loved other girls certainly. Right? But she isn't sure she's ever cared so much about them compared to Nova and once again, she shivers and wants to vomit a little.

Bunny figures there have to be some conversationalists that like caving or whatever nerdy granola noun there is for exploring caves. Alas it's easier to just not fight with Nova over it. "Yeah, I didn't really think going home was that important." Not as important as Nova. She doesn't even like her family. Why would she ever prioritize them over her best friend? Even if things aren't the smoothest with her yet, she would rather spend her time here with her. "We should definitely do that. I think that's cute," she finishes with a small smile and she gets a little sad because that also sounds really romantic. She knows she didn't mess up by showing the cave to Nova and not some random girl she's "friends" with, but for a moment she contemplates how much of a missed opportunity it is. If only, right?

Nova's always liked Bunny's family, but that's mostly because they've always liked her and she's easily swayed by compliments and attention. "Then it's settled." she says, "Like I said, I'm staying the whole break, too – " Saying it out loud hurts a bit, like she's still getting used to the fact. Her mind flashes back to all the happy Christmases she's spent with her family before, but all those memories are tainted now that she knows she's not particularly wanted around at home anymore. She thinks, I know; that's why I'm here, but doesn't say a word. "What happened with your family?" she asks. She had thought about it during midterm too, but just didn't have the heart to say it yet. With your mum?" she repeats, clearly dumbfounded, but that's with good reason. "Nova, are you sure you're okay?" Her sympathy isn't her strong suit. Her tone sounds off and disheveled almost, but she's really trying. She really cares about Nova.

She's definitely not okay, and she feels like honesty is the best option here for at least that. She laces her fingers with Bunny's when the other girl extends her hand. "No." she quietly admits, but it's immediately followed by Nova straightening her posture and shaking her head as if to dismiss all the negativity. "But it will get better and soon." The phrase would sound dreadfully optimistic and cheesy coming from anyone else, but the way Nova says it is determined and almost obsessive – like she's convinced there's no other option. "I'll figure it out. I have to."

Her eyes glance down to their hands and curls her fingers around the other girl's knuckles. The hold is gentle and it melts her heart a bit, but she quickly looks back into Nova's eyes and her heart starts to break. No matter how determined she sounds, it hurts to hear. "Babe..." she says quietly, squeezing her hand softly. "It will. You're right." Bunny looks over Nova's face again and her heart continues to crack as she takes her in. She really is the baddest bitch she knows. Merlin, she loves her. "And I will help you figure it out. Always, Nova." Her mouth stays open to say more, but she shuts it as she realizes they're getting sappy again.

The sappiness gets to her, and though Nova knows that telling Bunny about her predicament might be selfish she suddenly doesn't care as much anymore, perhaps because she is selfish. She takes a deep breath and her gaze is downcast, staring at the hand Bunny has around her own. Bunny's hands are so warm; she doesn't know if her own are cold because it's winter or because of her condition but either way she's grateful for the way the other girl's fingers are intertwined in hers. "I lost my powers." she says, finally. It's nothing at all like when she told Az; cocky and boastful about her new set of abilities as a dhampir. It's nothing at all like when she told Morgan either, angry and scorned and vengeful. This is quiet. It's vulnerable, it's... sincere.

Bunny's other hand instinctually reaches out to wrap around their hands. She registers how chilly Nova seems to be, but now isn't the moment to pull herself away and cast a hot air charm, is it? No, she doesn't think so. Her heart slips out of her chest seeing Nova like this. She's seen her go through so much, but nothing quite like this. "Nova..." is all she can say for a while. Her eyes are sad and she realizes she's being a terrible friend. Why isn't she better at this? After all they've gone through, she can't comfort her? Merlin, she's useless. "I'm so sorry. I- What happened?" she asks, staring at Nova's deep, dark eyes even if she won't look at her in return. Considering how much comfort staring into those eyes has given her in the past, it feels odd to have the position reversed.

Nova almost lets go of Bunny's hand so she can brush everything off and start bragging about how she can turn into mist now or something of the sort, or try to use her new abilities to show off like she did with Az, but instead she stares at the hold Bunny has on her. She isn't very willing to let go. "I got bitten by a vampire around this time last year." she finally says, "But I fought him off before he could complete the transition – whatever. The damage was done." She lets go of Bunny all of a sudden, feeling angry now, more than anything at the memory of everything that's been taken from her. She grabs her wand out of her pocket and begins to fiddle with it. "I lost all my powers. I can't even use my fucking wand." At the last word, she snaps the offending object in half and tosses it to the side of the cave where it lands with an echo. Nova stands, frustrated as she begins pacing around. "Which means I can't duel. Or take up any of the classes I want to. And I can't play quidditch anymore – " That part always stings. It used to be her dream to go pro after graduating, but plans change. " – because I can't even stay one second in the god damn sun without burning all over." She takes deep breaths, not wanting to scare Bunny or worse, have the other girl pity her, before crouching down again and taking her hands into her own, looking up at her with big eyes. "But it's fine, okay? I'll figure something out. I've been reading and talking to people and – there has to be a way to reverse all this, right? I can't just – I can't just go on like this, Bunny."

Bunny gently withdraws her hands back into her lap when the other girl lets go and she internally jumps when the wand is tossed against the cave wall. Externally, she remains calm and doesn't even flinch, but she's shocked and terrified on the inside. The most that's noticeable on her face is a small frown, which was there before except now it's deeper. She finally winces once Nova stands and she leans back onto her hands to stare up at her, listening intently although with clear confusion. She immediately doubts there is any way to reverse it. Perhaps she is the stupid and naive one, but for some reason she doesn't think she's being that stupid in regards to that notion. When her hands are taken by Nova's again, she looks back at her with pools of sympathy in her eyes. It's emotional and overwhelming, but she can wallow about it later on when she's in her dormitory - the one she had switched into because she couldn't handle Nova anymore...and, wow. "Why are you trying to c-" she stops, tone a bit too sharp. Of course Nova isn't really trying to reassure her. She's reassuring herself and if only Bunny had stopped to think about that more before speaking. "It is fine, Nova. Even if you can't reverse it, it's okay. We can get through this."

The use of 'we' doesn't go unnoticed and suddenly Nova lets go of Bunny's hands, instantly feeling a wave of guilt. "I wasn't going to tell you." she admits, "It's not an excuse for disappearing off the face of the earth; I knew that would hurt you and I did it anyway because I didn't expect it to take this long to find a cure and I thought you'd never have to find out." Nova props her arms up on her lap, burying her head in her hands. "Which now I get was unfair to you. You shouldn't have had to go through that – I'm sorry for not trying harder to find a way to get things back to normal. And we don't need to get through this." As much as Nova would like the support, she feels terrible for dragging Bunny into all this. "I need to get through this. You don't need to do anything – you've done more than enough. I promise you I'll be good again soon and then we can pretend this fiasco never happened."

Her hands follow after Nova's this time, but quickly retreat again. She watches as her friend unravels further and she doesn't seem capable of solving it. The fact that she was going to hide this from her? Yes, it stings, but seeing her like this hurts far worse. Maybe she's too emotionally attached to Nova for her own good. This feels like it stretches beyond basic empathy. "Nova, baby, we have to stop apologizing over this. It didn't matter that you vanished. I wasn't going to let you back in regardless." And it's true. Bunny probably would have never unblocked her and she certainly would never have messaged her again if she hadn't suddenly come back (and that required leaving in the first place). "Anyways, you're right that I don't need to do anything," she clams up and rolls her eyes as she proceeds. "But I want to. I want to go through this with you and pretending like this never happened isn't going to solve anything. You- You know that."

Things are getting too emotional for Nova's liking, and she's afraid if she listens to Bunny any longer she's going to burst into tears, so she takes a deep breath and reaches for her bag. "Okay." she says finally, her voice even and steady, nothing like a while ago – all frustration and anger. She knows there's nothing much she can say to convince Bunny to stay out of this; God knows if the roles were reversed, Nova would follow Bunny to the ends of the earth to help her with whatever problem. So maybe the best way to resolve the issue is to drop the topic and hope Bunny doesn't press anymore. She fishes something out of her bag. It's a gift, messily wrapped, and if Bunny were to open it, it would reveal a small, golden, compact mirror that would fit in the palm of her hand. One half of a two-way mirror set, to be specific, but Nova waits before explaining. "I got you something." she says finally, "For Christmas. And your birthday. And everything else I missed."

Bunny frowns because she obviously failed to think of a gift for Nova. She isn't much of a Christmas person. Holidays have been ruined for her time and time again - so much so that she doesn't often do anything for them unless her family is dragging her out to Ireland. She would say something about Nova not having to (she doesn't), but she's a little lost for words. She turns the paper over and unwraps it quite haphazardly, rolling the compact out of the paper and into her open palm. She isn't much of a makeup person and the other girl knows this, doesn't she? "Thank you," she says quietly, clicking it open and frowning at her reflection. When she looks up at Nova though, she's smiling. "It's pretty. I- I don't have anything. I'm sorry."

She notices the way Bunny frowns and realizes she should probably explain immediately. "It's fine that you didn't get me a gift." she says, though admittedly, it would have been nice. She takes a similar looking mirror from her pocket. The design is different, albeit complementary to Bunny's, and she opens it as well looking at her reflection until it slowly turns into Bunny's. "It's half of a set." she says. So they don't ever have to go months without talking again, no matter the circumstance, Nova thinks, but she doesn't know how to phrase that. "I'll keep mine on me all the time." she says and it sounds like a promise – you never have to worry about me disappearing every again.

She's completely aware of the existence of two-way mirrors, so her shock is noticeable but managed as Nova's face appears on her mirror. She tilts her head to the side and pouts - eyes affectionate before she can straighten herself up. "Ohh, that's precious, Nova." She wiggles her eyebrows at her through the mirror before grinning back at her in real life. "I suppose I should keep mine on me at all times too, huh?" she asks, glancing back at the mirror and placing her free hand to her heart. "'Never know what trouble one of us might get into, after all." Bunny winks and laughs, a bit absorbed in her feelings (all of which she could not accurately describe to you).

She laughs a bit when she notices the expression Bunny makes through the mirror, then shuts the cover as she turns back to look at Bunny. Bunny's reflection was stunning, but real thing is a lot better. Her heart feels a bit lighter, and she's glad for it, though it only strengthens her resolve to find a way to get things back to normal as soon as possible. "Of course." she says, "You and I are always up to something. It's what I like about us."

Nova looks a bit happier. Maybe happier isn't the best word for it, but she seems uplifted at least a little bit and that makes Bunny smile even more. She shuts the compact and slides it into her coat pocket without breaking eye contact with her friend. "It's what I like too," she says, eyes flickering down to the other girl's lips for a moment, but quickly regaining her focus on the girl's dark eyes. "I'm so glad I have you again..." Bunny turns down towards her phone to check the time, frowning as she realizes how late it is. They still have to walk back to the castle too. "We should start walking back soon."

Nova instinctively reaches for Bunny's hand – things feel a bit more normal now, and they used to do that all the time, but at this point it isn't a matter of uncertainty regarding whether or not Bunny will be open to the idea. More than anything, Nova just feels a bit unworthy; that even after everything Bunny still wants to stay. "Okay." she says, "Let's do that." The forest is dark and who knows what lurks about but Nova isn't too concerned; she can protect them.
