Imogen-2

appearance
Imogen's Veela heritage speaks for itself, really. From her big, blue eyes to her golden hair, she is the definition of beautiful. While it's nice not having to worry about her appearance most of the time, she really hates being one quarter Veela. Imogen feels that half the time the reason people talk to her is because of her appearance, not because of her personality. At 5'8", Imogen is somewhat taller than most other girls. She likes being tall, and often wears heels purely because it gives her a few extra inches. She has a unique look that is captivating- from her button nose to her full lips, even her less important features are near-perfect. Imogen's model is Amber Heard.

history
Imogen Fleur Reed was born on July 4 in New York, New York to Annelise Deveraux and Niklaus Schmidt.

Annelise and Niklaus had met 5 years prior to her birth. Niklaus was on vacation with his family in Paris just before he started his 7th Year as a Wampus at Ilvermorny. Annelise was working a summer job in a small cafe in Paris so she'd have enough money to live on her own before she started her final year at Beauxbatons. Niklaus had decided to depart from his family one morning and have a cup of coffee in a small cafe- the same cafe Annelise happened to be working at. Annelise was a half-Veela herself, so it was no wonder that Niklaus was captivated by her right off the bat. He was sitting at his table, enjoying his coffee when he decided to get up to use the bathroom. Annelise had been serving the table right behind him when he got up. The pair both turned around at the same time and bumped into each other causing Annelise to spill the pot of hot tea she had been carrying all over Niklaus. To no surprise, Annelise was fired from her job because so many people had witnessed the event that, in her boss's words, "It would be too embarrassing not to fire you." It was safe to say that Annelise was pissed. Although it was just as much her fault as it was Niklaus's, she decided to take out her anger on Niklaus saying it was his fault that she had lost her job. Niklaus promised her he would make it up to her over dinner which she reluctantly agreed to- only because there was food involved.

Sure enough, the pair met again for dinner and immediately hit it off. Throughout the remainder of Niklaus's vacation, they continued to meet and started dating. They consistently owled each other throughout the school year and visited each other on holidays. Once they graduated, Annelise agreed to move in with Niklaus in his apartment in Manhattan. Annelise was ecstatic- her parents, not so much. They warned her that if she ran off with the stupid American boy, she wouldn't be welcomed back. Her mother had warned her on multiple occasions that it was a bad idea, however Annelise wouldn't listen. She left without looking back.

Things were great for the couple. Annelise started her career as a model and Niklaus became an American Auror. Things ran smoothly for the first few years, that is until the big question came up: did they want to have kids? Niklaus was quick to say no. He had never wanted children and was strongly against the idea, especially being in his early twenties. Annelise wanted nothing more than to start a family, however.

As soon as she fell pregnant with Imogen, Niklaus left her without a second thought. While he loved Annelise, he didn't want to have the burden of a child keeping him from living his life. The French girl refused to abort her baby, and decided she would raise her on her own. This proved to be too much to handle once Imogen was born, however. She had to put her modeling career on hold to take care of her child and resorted to working as a waitress to earn enough money to pay rent as well as get food. This was barely enough for herself, let alone someone else. She had nowhere to go. Her lover had left her and her family had practically disowned her. Annelise ended up giving Imogen up for Foster Care since she wasn't fit to mother her on her own.

Growing up in Foster Care was rough for Imogen. When she was younger, Imogen wanted nothing more than to meet her real parents. As she grew older, this dream died, however. If they had left her in the first place, they wouldn't want to meet her now, would they? Imogen was always a strange child and would never stay with a family for more than a few months. She never got along well with other kids. She was always bullied for her quirkiness by other children in the Foster System as well as from the families she stayed with. Imogen never hesitated to fight back which was the main reason why no one wanted to keep her.

Imogen unknowingly displayed her first sign of magic at the age of 7. One of the kids she was staying with would always steal her bag of caramel candies, and one day she was absolutely fed up with him. She clenched her fists by her sides and glared daggers at him, wanting nothing more than for him to choke on the caramel as a form of Karma. While he didn't choke, the candy did begin to quite literally burn in his mouth. This was enough to please Imogen.

She continued to be passed from family to family until she met a young couple by the names of Annie and Miller Reed. They were an odd pair, but so was Imogen. It didn't take long for them to fall in love with Imogen. They adopted her only 2 months after fostering her. Imogen was genuinely happy to have someone who loved her for who she was and ended up changing her last name to Reed. Imogen had just turned 11 when she received her letter for Hogwarts. It's safe to say that no one was expecting for this to happen. It did make sense, however. Imogen finally had an explanation as to why she was different from all the other kids and what all the strange occurrences that happened as a result of her magic were.

Imogen was ecstatic to go to Hogwarts- she finally had a place where she'd fit in. Annie and Miller were more than happy to see Imogen so happy. It was a lot to process at first, but they came to terms with it fairly quickly. Upon arrival, Imogen was sorted into Gryffindor before the Sorting Hat even touched her head. Her first six years at Hogwarts were great. Imogen excelled in all her classes and was always at the top of her class- she even did better than the Ravenclaws and got all O's on her OWL's. She made it on the Quidditch team as seeker her first year there and was captain by the time she was in her Fifth Year. There was nothing more she could ask for.

This all came to an end however at the end of her Sixth Year. Annie and Miller were killed by a drunk driver on their way back from their anniversary dinner. Imogen was devastated. The two people who mattered most in her life and were frankly the last family she had were gone forever. She lost her main purpose- the motivation that kept her going during the day. Imogen quite literally lived for her family. She had grown to love Annie and Miller as if they were her birth parents. They were there for each other through thick and thin- and now they were gone.

She refused to go back to Foster Care and instead decided to stay at Lil' Bundles until she turned 17. Imogen quickly became depressed and felt as if she was alone in the world. What she failed to realize was that there were, in fact, multiple people who cared for her at Hogwarts. All of her teachers and friends worried for Imogen's mental stability. Just before final exams, Imogen made the impulsive decision to steal a bottle of pills from one of her roommates and swallow each pill dry. Much to her despair, it wasn't a drug that could kill her, but she did end up being hospitalized in St. Mungo's and put on suicide watch.

Imogen was angry at herself for being so stupid. She didn't see the point in living anymore and simply wanted to end her pain. She was sent to a rehabilitation center in London in an attempt to prevent her from committing a suicide attempt again. Imogen stayed there for a couple months and was finally let out after her 6th Year had already ended. While she no longer felt the need to end her life after a great deal of therapy and anti-depressants, however she decided to drop out of Hogwarts and not go back for her last year there. She used the money that Annie and Miller had left for her to pay for the first month of rent for a flat near Diagon Alley and quickly got a job as a barmaid at La Lune Bleue.

It's a shame that Imogen dropped out considering how much potential she held and how bright her future looked, however she knew she wouldn't mentally be able to handle the stress of another year there. At this point, Imogen's mind was in a different place so her attempts to apply herself in school would be in vain anyways, or at least that's what she told herself. She is getting better since her episode when she was 17, however she didn't deal with it in the best way.

Being the stubborn girl she is, Imogen decided to just ignore her problem and act like it had never happened. Rather than accepting that she was and still is a broken, depressed girl in need of love, she puts on a brave face and instead wears a role of confidence and independence. She believes that if she tries hard enough and believes it to be true, Imogen really will become that sort of girl with no care in the world other than having fun.

Nowadays if you meet Imogen, you would never suspect that she had such a dark past and even attempted to commit suicide. Imogen is sick of people's pity for her being the girl who lost everyone important in her life. She has built her walls up high and is afraid to let anyone get close to her in fear of losing yet another person she loves. Instead of seeking help and love, she pretends like she's fine, because that's what she is- perfectly fine.

personality
Imogen is classy, sassy, and a bit smart-assy.

She is the definition of confident and couldn't care less what other people think of her. She has mastered the art of not giving a shit, and is quite proud of this. She won't let anyone push her around and isn't afraid to throw the first punch. Imogen's confidence shines through even in her walk which makes her all the more desirable.

She is quite witty and extremely intelligent. You'd never guess that a barmaid would have an IQ of 160 until you meet Imogen. In her days at Hogwarts, she was always at the top of her class and even did better than the Ravenclaws. She has a way with words and isn't a stranger to some good-hearted banter, dry humor, and sarcasm.

While Imogen possesses all these positive traits, she is broken inside and refuses to admit it. She is afraid of getting too close to someone because she is convinced that everything she loves will be ripped away from her at some point. Imogen has run away from her past and refuses to look back.

Although she'd never admit it to herself, Imogen is lonely and tired of pushing people away. She is not as self-reliant as she pretends to be and needs love more than anything right now.

While she may be a roller coaster ride and breaking down her walls may be like going to Hell and back twice, she will be loyal to you through thick and thin if you manage to get close enough to her.

skills
Quidditch
Imogen has always had a natural gift for Quidditch. Despite not having any experience playing before going to Hogwarts, she made the team as Seeker in her first year. Imogen is swift and quick on her feet which is apparent when she is flying. While she usually prefers playing Seeker, she is pretty good as a Chaser as well. Imogen has considered trying out for a professional team, but she isn't sure if she's good enough.

Intelligence
With an IQ of 160, Imogen is remarkably intelligent. She always excelled in all her classes and got all O's on her OWL's. Honestly, she could probably get a better paying job working at the Ministry of Magic or as a professor or something similar, however she doesn't have the motivation.
