Isabella has a surprising amount of prowess despite not being raised by any significant female figures and somehow seems to carry herself in a way that usually pulls attention in public. But she is not all looks and fashion - she is a complex and many layered young vixen. Isabella is fierce, highly unpredictable and borderline insane with her need to fulfil a gnawing appetite for destruction. With hardly much remorse, Bella only keeps a small circle close to her at any given time. She is an infuriatingly closed off person and tends to bottle a lot of her emotions, unable to unlock them without the fear of it driving her over the edge. After the death of her youngest sibling by her own hand, Bella harbours suffocating guilt and her dreams are now plagued with nightmares. In truth, she was worried for the longest time that her outbursts and magic were totally uncontrollable and that if it happened to her sibling than it could happen to another.
Behind her cold exterior and saucy attitude, Isabella is actually a rather intelligent young lady with a fear of getting close to anyone. With a mindset of being a danger to society, Isabella can't take any risks and even those who know her sometimes don't even really know her. Her ability to charm and manipulate make her a master silvertongue and her actual ability to speak parseltongue brings a new edge to the Serpents. With her closest friend being a Black Mamba, people usually tend to avoid messing with Bella for obvious reasons despite her being totally intimidating. She has learned quick that the easiest way to function in life as a criminal is to charm your way to the top and therefore has built a reputation of being a seductress and had been a pretty steady vault of information for the Serpents to utilize. She is damn good at what she does and her ability to rob you of all your hopes and dreams makes her one hell of a bad Serpent.
The House of Gaunt was once a powerful magical family with direct blood ties to Salazar Slytherin and Cadmus Peverell and was considered part of the "Sacred Twenty Eight" due to their remaining pureblood status. Their wealth and pedigree was eventually squandered by greedy fingers and an insatiable appitete for luxury, which caused the noble House of Gaunt to slip through the cracks and lose its respect and reputation. Having once bred skilled witches and wizards, it came as no surprise that Aella Gaunt rose over the ranks of their oppression and tried to make a living for herself by joining the Serpents when she was merely twelve years old. Having been left alone in the world after the death of her parents, the Serpents became her adoptive family. Aella, like her grandfather (also a former serpent) before her had seemingly inherited the ability to speak parseltongue, which they assume is attributed to the tight family bloodline. Her abilities became a sort of symbolism for the Serpents. By her twenty first birthday, Aella was pregnant with a fellow serpent's child.
Aella risked the inheritance of their gift for a one night stand with an infuriating womanizer and ultimately paid the price when her first child was born with a shock of similar crimson hair akin to her own but a gruffness that could only have come from Hale Vaughn. Isabella Gaunt was raised among the serpents after her smile won their hearts. They become just as much as family as her own parents did and Bella's constant presence eventually coaxed limited enthrall on Hale's end. Unfortunately, Aella was abruptly killed by a rival gang to send a message and five year old Bella was left solely to Hale and the Serpents to raise. Isabella was introduced to her half-sister, Emmeline, not too long after and the pair became almost inseperable as they both learned to cope without their mothers. Isabella was eight when when Hale announced that he would be siring another child to a woman outside of the Serpents and ultimately pissed off his already neglected daughter and the young child began to harbor a hatred for the new baby. One could say a dangerous malice.
Most people have a rather usual or common commotion when their magical abilities first appear and sometimes you get the rare apple in the bunch. Sometimes dangerous things happen and children cannot control it. Right? Isabella was ten years old when her first signs of magic set fire to the gas stove in their trailer. Sadly, Hale's youngest child and only son perished in the accident and Bella was left changed for the remaineder of her life with scars left to remind her of the worst mistake she ever made. Unable to be convicted for the death due to her immensely young age, Bella was let go and managed to escape punishment. She eventually turned down a very dark road before discovering her gift. Isabella soon learned that she too had inherited the ability to speak parseltongue and for her eleventh birthday, she recieved a rescue black mamba that had the venom glands removed by previous owners and Ichor has been her closest friend ever since.
Rumors began to spread in her first year at Hogwarts and students started to believe that Isabella intentionally killed her sibling out of jealousy and the attention got so bad that Hale chose to pull her from the school and educate her at home. This started a new era of chaos and Bella turned to acting out when boredom festered. Hale attempted to distract her from trouble by bringing her around the Serpents when official business was happening but that only seemed to create a dnagerous appetite. Over the summer between fourth and fifth year, Isabella had already been arrested for suspicion of running an illegal black market with her partner in crime, Dominic Kingsley but managed to escape based upon their sheer lack of evidence. Additionally, Isabella Gaunt became the first Serpent in history to do both versions of the initiation and was happy to join their ranks like her parents and grandparents before her. Now ready to start her fifth year, Bella requested to be placed back into Hogwarts with her fellow Serpents. Not even a week before her return, she became the first Serpent in history to do both intiations and was asked by her newly adopted brother, max, to kill his abusive stepfather. Obliging, Bella murdered Stephan Carlisle through means of poison.
After her fifth year, Isabella discovered that Artemisia was her real mother and that Aella was actually her father's sister, therefore making her a Kingsley by birthright. With this new information, Isabella legally changed her last name and now fully intends to lead the Serpents in place of Leopold Kingsley.
