Jacob Elias King was born on March 10 to Lindsey King and her whore of a boyfriend (married boyfriend - not to Lindsey, of course) in New York, United States. The "boyfriend" was only in New York on business and would only be there for a month. This obviously didn't stop Lindsey, and that's how she became a single, heart-broken mom. Not long after having Jake, she resorted to drugs and alcohol to ease her pain. He was probably around four years old at the time. Things had worsened by the age of eight. That was when he had his first magical encounter.
Lindsey didn't usually try to hurt or abuse Jacob, but sometimes she came close when she was under the influence. This particular time, she was absolutely drunk and higher than the Empire State. She had demanded another beer, and when Jake didn't oblige, she threatened him. Scared and helpless, Jacob sent the empty bottle in her hand flying against the wall. Lindsey became fearful and began treating him like a freak. That was almost better than confusing him with mixtures of love and hurt.
By some miracle - if you even want to call it that - the bastard that had gotten Lindsey pregnant was back in New York on business again. When Lindsey stumbled upon him again, she confronted him with Jake. She demanded that he take Jacob to London with him, and he agreed. Kind of.
He merely paid for the boy's plane ticket and set him up with a foster family in London, wanting nothing to do with him. It was great. Thankfully, his foster moms were kind people that gave him the love and affection he had needed (and secretly craved) his whole life. This didn't stop him from being closed off, however. He was a quiet kid and liked being alone.
That changed a bit when he was sent off to Hogwarts. There, he was a tad more outspoken and became known for his funny one-liners in class. Though he didn't really try to, he made some friends in the couple of years he's been there. Jake was also able to find some neat spots throughout the castle - that was one of his favorite parts. He really enjoyed magic and all the opportunities it gave him. In a way, magic changed his life.
