Everett rolled his eyes playfully as he walked into the living room, "What do we do pretty much every time we hang out at your flat or whenever my family isn't home?"
Everett opened his eyes and arched a brow, turning his head to look at Jordan. "I'm not really in the mood for it right now, so you'll have to do something to change that."
"I don't know what I want you to do yet either, so you just have to figure it out." Everett said as he bit his lip, moving his hands underneath Jordan's shirt.

Jordan watched Everett for a few seconds before leaning up and kissing him. There was definitely passion there, but it would be unknown to Everett what Jordan felt exactly - all he'd be able to feel was there was a form of passion fueling the kiss.

Jordan led on his back, looking up to his ceiling. With an arm draped around him rendering him unable to move, he simply stared up and looked at the plain-coloured roof.
Everett had his head rested on Jordan's chest as he slipped in and out of a slumber. When he was at his most awake state, he squeezed Jordan softly and while unaware of what he was saying, mumbled something along the lines of "I love you."

Jordan tilted his head a little as he heard some faint mumbling. He wasn't able to decipher the words specifically, hearing something like 'love' but wasn't sure, "What did you say?"
Everett, coming to just a little bit, repeated himself. "I said I love you." He still mumbled it, however it would have been a bit more audible this time.
Everett, although he was starting to fall back asleep, definitely heard what Jordan said. And to put it simply, he felt heartbroken. He couldn't just get up and leave, no that'd make it too obvious that he was upset. So instead all he did was rollover so his head wasn't on Jordan's chest anymore and he was facing a wall, it wasn't much but he figured for the time being it would make Jordan realize that he wasn't talking about love in a friendship kind of way.

As Everett turned away, Jordan did the same, moving in the opposite direction. Figuring Everett was more than likely upset, judging by his movements, Jordan's thoughts turned in the direction of why Everett could be hurt. After an hour or so of thinking, he came to the conclusion that Everett liked him more as a friend. Not knowing if he should brand himself as dumb for not realising sooner, Jordan began to evaluate his own feelings towards Everett and coming to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe, there was a spark there for him to push them beyond best friends.
Everett eventually sat up and pulled on his pants, "I think I'm gonna go, I promised my mum I'd be home for dinner..." He then stood up and proceeded to put on the rest of his clothes.
Everett sighed loud enough that Jordan would be able to hear him, turning around afterwards. "What's the point of staying Jordan? It doesn't mean anything, all you want is a casual hookup and you've been ignorant to the fact that I've wanted more than that since the first time we had sex."

Jordan blinked a few times, "Ignorant? Everett you've never said anything about it. All you do is leave and never mention it again so I whilst I might be ignorant you neglect to tell me anything."
Everett shook his head, "That is such a lie, I told you at our graduation ceremony. But then again you didn't care much for what I said that night since you left as soon as it was over with some girl."
Everett rolled his eyes, "I meant what part of what I said did you listen to? Considering you clearly didn't listen to the part where I told you I loved you."

Jordan remained silent. For what reason? He couldn't tell. He didn't know if it was the inability to fight Everett's words or the fact that he heard very clearly that night what the other had said but chose to ignore it because when you admitted feelings in a friends with benefit situation things get messy. Regardless, he remained silent.
After multiple days, even weeks, of Jordan texting Everett and telling him to come over so they could talk, Everett decided it'd be best to stop ignoring him and actually go over to his house. When he arrived at the flat's door, he knocked on it hesitantly.

Jordan didn't reply. He was, in fact, in his bedroom with a random girl snuggling up beside him. He moved his head to the sound of the door knocking but didn't make any moves - if it was Everett he'd walk in after a few knocks.
Everett did just that, and he walked in all the way to Jordan's bedroom. When he saw the girl snuggled up beside Jordan, it felt as though his heart had shattered inside of him and he started to back out of the room. Slamming the bedroom door behind him.

Jordan, when Everett came into the room, already began to scramble and when Everett closed the door Jordan was quick behind him, only clad in his underwear. Seeing Everett head to the door Jordan began to shake his head, "Everett! Wait!"

Jordan wasn't phased by Everett's tone of voice, seeing as he had seen the other far more mad than he was right now. Instead of backing off Jordan grabbed Everett's wrist and turned him around so they were face to face, "I said wait Everett."
Since Jordan had grabbed his wrist and turned him around, Jordan would see that Everett's hands were balled into fists. In a much more stern voice he said, "Jordan, let go of me right now."
"Because why? Because you're sorry? Or because you're so orientated towards sleeping with people that you have two at once that you can call over to sleep with you?"
Everett, who was just about to open the apartment door, stopped and turned around to face Jordan, looking at him dead in the eyes. "If you love me then why are you sleeping around with other people? Why did you completely shut me down when I told you the same thing?"

"I don't do relationships, I never have done and you know that. I slept around with only people to deny the fact that I felt something with you, something that scared me. When you said you loved me? Probably the most terrifying thing I've heard in my life..." He paused, breathing in and swallowing a lump in his throat, "But...I guess I know now that the only feeling I feel towards you is, well, love - or at least I think it is..."
Everett was tearing up at this point, not to the extent where they would be running down his cheeks, but just slowly starting to form on his bottom eyelid. Despite his tears, his tone didn't change, he made sure of it. "You know a normal person with actual sympathy for other people would say that after someone tells them they love them. All you did was say you loved me as a friend."

Jordan clenched his hands into fists, tears threatening to form in his eyes, "I thought if I said I loved you as a friend it'd become true and I'd be able to go on without the feeling of love love. I-I thought if I could keep denying it and sleeping with other people then I wouldn't have to admit that I'm in love with you - but that wasn't the case and now you hate me, so I guess it was all for nothing."
"There's a difference between hating you and feeling betrayed by you Jordan. I don't hate you, I'm just pissed off at you." He paused for a second and opened the door, "Don't call me until you have your priorities all straightened out..." With that Everett walked out of Jordan's apartment, leaving the door open behind him.
