Life Before Hogwarts

His family was incomplete until he was born. If you ask his mother, at least, that is exactly what she would say. His mother was an only child, she had six children. She wanted to have more, it was not feasible. Julia, Maxwell, Lennon, Molly, Lucy and Jude. Elizabeth and Charles gave all of their children, including family pets; Pepper and Jojo, Beatles inspired names. Charles was not always on board with some of Elizabeth's more unconventional ideas. Her love of music, her free-spiritedness and her effervescence was not something he wanted to discourage. He let her have her way, a half-century later they are the better for it. Jude is their youngest child, and their youngest son. He was the one to get the majority of his mother's attention. He and his sister Lucy received the oddest of middle names. Charles was much less adamant about proper names by the time they were on their fifth and sixth go around. He had not been able to come up with any ideas that Elizabeth liked, he got frustrated with her saying no to all of his options and left her to decide. Lucy and Jude were the favorites, preferred by their mother, for a few reasons their names being the most obvious.

He was six when he performed magic for the first time. It was accidental and he continues to believe it was not him that made it happen. His older siblings were playing with the toy broomsticks while he and Lucy were stuck on the ground. Jude was not jealous, he also did not like they way Lennon teased them mercilessly. He was becoming increasingly angry as Maxwell and Molly began to join in on the teasing. Before anyone knew it Lennon's broom did some sort of dip and flung him off the tail end of it. His ego took more of a bruise than his body did. Jude was flabbergasted, he had never seen Lennon fall of his broom before. Maxwell, Lucy, Molly and Julia laughed their heads off. Lennon blamed Julia because he would never believe any of his younger siblings could do that kind of magic. He also was not going to admit he might have lost control of the broom. Jude was able to replicate this magical outburst when he was frightened and when he was anxious. He luckily did not experience these things often. He was not afraid of the dark of much of anything. He did not have the typical fears of a normal child his age. Jude was terrified by one thing, and that was losing his mother.

Unwell often, both mentally and physically, Elizabeth had a lot of down time. She was often separated from her husband and children battling with a mental health disorder causing significant impairment in her daily life. Jude and Lucy, who were often left out of activities due to age and size, always offered to be of help to their mother. They were constantly rebuffed if they were not wrangled by their father first, who had not seen the two little buggers slip out of his sight. Sometimes, not often, Lucy and Jude were lucky to find an Elizabeth that was not too disinterested or irritable to want to spend time as a tiny trio instead of the exhausting eight. When she was not crying excessively or isolating herself Jude loved his time with his mother more than anything. She had a sense of freedom that he feed off of. He absolutely absorbed her influence and it turned out to be something did not use in the way his parents would have wanted him to. Jude looked a life from a skewed perspective and operated on a 'by any means' necessary basis. He was always looking for a way to get what he wanted. He had to find a way to provide for himself otherwise he might get overlooked.

He received an acceptance letter from Hogwarts, he wanted to go to one of the other magical schools. He was not disappointed about attending the same school his parents went to. He wanted a new adventure that had not been lived though previously by his siblings or his parents. He never got his wish as Elizabeth and Charles refused to allow it. He even tried to force their hand by signing up for an exchange program that they did not give approval for. Jude went so far as to try to forge the signatures that he needed. He may have gotten away with it, his artistic ability was convincing enough. However, unbeknownst to him, Elizabeth was able to convince Charles that a change of heart was in order. Mistakes were made by both parties, Jude never should have tried to fool the staff. Elizabeth and Charles should have stuck more firmly to their first instinct. They were much too lenient with Jude, possibly because he was the youngest. They babied him quite a bit and it was the wrong move to make. Unfortunately neither Elizabeth nor Charles could see that at the time despite the many warnings they received from Lennon. Every negative thing Jude's older brother had to say about him fell upon deaf ears.

Later Life

Knowing exactly what he wanted to do with his life, he was one of few of his classmates to have his his priorities in order at only 17. With the help of both parents and a lot of financial support from both sets of his grandparents Jude was able to open up his own business, The Chef's Connection. It started out as a cooking supply store, while he simultaneous attended culinary school. When he felt his education was stagnating he began running a school of his own out of the store by teaching classes that were open to the community. His weekly classes were so popular he had to start turning people away. When he noticed he had a group of dedicated regulars he realized he could open a school of his own as long as the people continued to come back. When his school became a viable resource he decided to expand by opening a restaurant in the space beside the supply store. In approximately five years time he was living the dream. Of course, happy endings do not come without a cost. On a late night at the restaurant after Jude had closed up. He was wearing his chef coat, it had spatters of blood from the lamb shanks served that night. That smell attracted a creature, that creature was a werewolf. He was bitten and was lucky to be found alive, forever changed.

Nonchalant - Proud, Levelheaded, Resourceful, Conscientious

He had an easy childhood, being one of the youngest everything he wanted was handed to him. As he got older he learned he had to start fending for himself. It made him rather opportunistic, it made him more observant. Whenever he saw an opening, he dove right at it. He is conniving and willing to try anything to get what he wants. He has got a 'by any means necessary' mentality. He also has morals, despite his willingness to make sacrifices he is not willing to sell out his soul. He does not like to be looked at as the good guy, he had the idea beat into him that nice guys finish last. He would happily settle for second best if it meant he was not on the bottom of the totem pole. He is incredibly ambitious and a rather astute businessman. With a few thousand galleons in start up money he was able to open his own business. He made something big out of nothing and manages it on his own terms. He is no a nonsense boss, however he is an amazing team player. He works well with others, he likes to keep a number of people around him in his working life. He prefers an on the job entourage for no reason other than to have someone to fill he shoes when he inevitably has to handle personal situations.

He is tall, dark and handsome. He has a strong, pointy, square shaped jawline. He has a long face and interestingly arched eyebrows. He has a wicked, devilish smile and lips that turn upwards at the corner of his mouth. He has bright blue eyes that almost look unnatural. He has brown hair that he tends to keep cut short, although he has been known to rock the long haired man look. He has a nice physique and prefers to stay in shape. His health is important to him as he knows he would not last long in this life he has to lead if he let that slide. He dresses nicely, being a business owner, although he occasionally dresses down when he is enjoying one of those lounging around sort of days.
