Reynold and Amanda were second generation Taiwanese immigrants and the first to be born in their respective families. After both of their parents had settled into California, Reynold and Amanda both met while attending Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Having essentially grown up from annoying preteens to young adults together, they became rather close during their years of wizard schooling. So it was no surprise to anyone when they started dating after graduating and later went on to get married.
The couple, after getting married and returning back to America after their honeymoon, decided to continue living in California. However they did move to Long Beach rather than stay in Los Angeles. After about a year or so of a happy marriage, Amanda gave birth to a bright and beaming young boy, whom they named Leighton. Leighton was a handful from the get go to be blunt. He never slept a full night until he was two and trying to keep him in one spot was near enough impossible. But he couldn't help it, he was such a small baby with such a big world to explore.
Having two pure-blood parents, Leighton always knew he'd be a wizard as well. Considering Reynold and Amanda never let him forget about their wizard heritage. So when Leighton accidentally blew up his birthday cake during a family birthday party when he was seven. It never fazed him however, and Leighton continued to be adventurous and wild leading up to his preteen days. And to be perfectly honest he never fully mellowed out until he went to Ilvermorny.
After turning eleven years old, Leighton got an acceptance letter to attend Ilvermorny. He was obviously expecting it as were his parents, so it definitely didn't come as a surprise. While attending Ilvermorny, Leighton was sorted into the Wampus house. He was heavily involved in quidditch during school, on the Wampus quidditch team from his first year onward. He was even the captain during his seventh year.
Now that he is done wizard schooling completely, Leighton doesn't want to stop playing quidditch. He continues to strive to do his best in every quidditch game he plays. But his passion for the sport aside, Leighton is also focused on settling down. It might be cheesy but he was always rather upset he never found the person he'd one day end up with while attending Ilvermorny, like his parents had done. Or maybe he has found that person, and just doesn't know it yet...
