Once upon a time, he'd have laughed at the idea of getting on a boat over open water. He was Greek, for crying out loud, and a Spartan at that. Spartan's weren't oceanic people (it's how Athens had dominated for so long) and on top of that, his own father tried to drown him. So putting those two together, his relationship with water had been rocky for thousands of years but, as his memory grew weaker, his comfort on a boat had become a tad more comfortable. He'd invited all of the Altair's out on this boat (he wasn't sure whose it was, but he woke up with the key in his jacket so the boat was theirs now) but no one had turned up so far. He was waiting on the outer deck, sipping from a bottle of wine. Not that alcohol had any affect on him, it didn't, but he just liked the taste at this point.

「 Harmony Altair 」gryffindor alumna • vampire • the party girl
Harmony was the first to show up because of course she was, unlike Constantin she was much more acquainted with boats and water so had reluctantly accepted the fact that she was likely going to be the one sailing. Although, there was a slight difference between being acquainted with boats and knowing how to sail one. Nevertheless she was going to figure it out, it can't be too hard...right? She aced all her classes back when she was human so...how hard could sailing be? If worst came to worst they could just swim, it wasn't like they were going to drown. She approached the sitting man, pushing her sunglasses up her face despite the fact it was nearing midnight and she had absolutely no need to be wearing them, "You're into sailing now? Since when?" She raised an eyebrow as she stood in front of him, an air of judgement crossing her face and body language as she wondered about his new hobby, "It wouldn't be the weirdest thing you've gotten into to be fair."

Constantin spread his arms wide when Harmony walked towards him. "Since I decided that Mother Gaia is truly overrated, Poseidon is my home now," he said, almost yelling, almost as if he didn't think Harmony wouldn't be able to hear him easily. "But I ask you this, my dear saliva daughter, what is the point of being immortal if you cannot become an expert in everything and anything. My heart truly weeps when I hear a vampire who has not spent their time mastering the art of at least one small niche over the many centuries." Has he done this? Well, he is able to draw a near perfect circle first try now! "So I thought I'd spread my little batty wings and have a shot at sailing. What's the worst that can go wrong? We capsize?" He asked with a grin as if he wasn't internally cringing at the idea. Dear Zeus, please make sure he wasn't foreshadowing how the night was going to go. "Won't you join me?"

With a cocked eyebrow, Harmony halted about a foot from Constantin. Was he always like this? She awkwardly looked over his outstreched arms, trying to politely decline whatever hug or physical contact he was offering - instead settling on a friendly fistbump which she'd learnt a few years ago, she was slightly late to the trend. With Constantin's words the reality of her situation dawned on her. A smile grew across her face before turning into a sharp chuckle, "I see...I see..." She nodded along, considering her options, "Do you even know how to swim?" She'd be surprised if he didn't but this was Constantin she was considering - always full of surprises both good and bad despite the fact he was almost four times as old as she was.

Constantin's arms dropped but he took the fist bump, even pulling his hand away to mimic an explosion before he zoomed his way to the steering wheel. "Well, no! But I figure-how hard can it be?" Constantin asked, not even pausing to admit this slight issue with this safety plan. "You only flap your hands around to get to the nearest piece of land, nor can we really drown, so I reckon we'll be pretty good even if it does capsize. Have you ever used a boat? I haven't."
