「 Morgan le Fey 」graduated slytherin • the rightful heir
This has turned into a bit of a shotgun trip - literally the moment classes ended for the Christmas holidays, he went to find Niks and suggested just going as soon as they could before the rush of tourists really sets in. And so they’re here, late afternoon with the sun just beginning to dip; it’s thankfully not too cold, especially for December, and they’re approaching the old cottage where Morgan grew up, right on the beach because Sabrina is nothing if not a slave to the aesthetic. Still, he can’t complain; nobody seems to have been near, thanks to all the anti-Muggle charms layered over the area, so it kind of feels like stepping back in time. “It still looks the same,” Morgan says, a little wistful; he’s holding Niks’ hand and walking her up the path, old stone set against wildflowers. “It’s still just as pretty. I thought it would have- I don’t know, aged a little.”

Niks has distractedly been taking in the view, looking everywhere around her while absent-mindedly listening to Morgan. It's so beautiful here. The flowers are gorgeous, the scenery is amazing, and she's here with her boyfriend, so really, it can't get any better than this. She's looking at a patch of wildflowers when his voice interrupts her thoughts and she looks turns to face him abruptly. "Sorry! Got distracted. It's just so... wow." she says, unsure if that's the correct thing to say. Growing up here alone must've gotten old pretty quickly, she thinks. "When was the last time you were here?"

He can't blame her for being distracted; he is, too, but for different reasons. Every step unlocks another memory, one that he'd filed away and hoped to never revisit back when he thought Sabrina wasn't returning, and if you'd told him this time last year that he'd a) be coming back home and b) with his girlfriend, he'd have probably laughed in your face. "I left properly when I was- fourteen, I think?" he says, looking back to scan the horizon and the gradually-darkening sky. "That's when I moved into my uncle's for the holidays, rather than coming back here. So yeah, it's been a while." It even smells the same, all the sea air and wildflowers. "Though my mum keeps talking about making this official Parade territory, so I'll probably be back here a lot more in the future."

She can't believe that he waited until he was fourteen to stop coming back here when he'd be alone the whole time, but she tries not to think about it because whenever she remembers that Morgan was on his own for so long she honestly gets so emotional she could actually cry. Instead, she leans in closer to him, holding his arm. "That'd be so nice!" she says, "It's so pretty, and it's a lot less depressing than the Citadel." She looks out at the ocean before turning her head back to him. "No offense." she quickly adds.

He's extremely happy that this place is just as beautiful as he remembers - mostly because hyping this up to Niks for weeks and then the island being just a pile of rocks in the ocean would be extremely disappointing, and she deserves better than that. Everyone should see the coves here at least once in their lives. "No, you're right, the Citadel is depressing," he smirks; sometimes he wonders why Sabrina always raised him here rather than in the Citadel, seeing as the latter would have been infinitely more safe, but coming back here? He can understand it now. His childhood would have been even more miserable if he'd been locked underground for the whole of it. "The island's a lot busier than I remember it being. There's the castle, the old monastery, all the beaches and the caves - there's not a lot to do, but it's peaceful." Feeling Niks hold onto his arm, he instinctively lifts it and wraps it around her shoulders, pulling her closer as they walk.

She wanders a bit closer to the cottage on the beach, leaning on him as he pulls her in closer. "I like peaceful." she tells him, smiling. "This would be such a nice place to stay for a week or two when you wanna get away from everything." In her head, she's remembering all the attractions they passed by on the way here; they were all so beautiful, she'd love to see all of them. When they stop in front of the entrance to the small house, she looks up at him. "So, this is it?"

The nerves kick in when they reach the door of the cottage; now it feels like stepping into a time warp, and Morgan freezes for a second with the sudden rush of nostalgia that overcomes him. Hopefully Sabrina set a few charms on the inside, too, or the place will look like a dust-storm hit in. "This is it," he nods, taking out his wand and casting a quick Alohomora - which thankfully works, and when he creaks open the door and peers inside- wow. Talk about flashbacks. It's absolutely spotless (there's a feather duster floating around near the corner of the room, happily polishing picture frames on the wall) and, although the memories are hazy, entirely untouched from the last time he was here. "Like I said, it's not much," Morgan says, stepping aside so Niks can walk in. "But it's home."

She steps in the cottage and looks around before her attention is caught by the enchanted feather duster cleaning up... picture frames? She immediately rushes there, saying a quiet "Excuse me," to the duster, as if it's an actual, sentient being that can understand her. (There's no harm in being kind, after all!) She zeroes in on a picture of Sabrina and Morgan, who looks like he's about to start at Hogwarts. Her eyes go big as if it's the most adorable thing in the world, which to her, it is. "Is this you?"

Of course she goes straight to the picture frames - oh well, it is a nostalgia trip after all, might as well get it out of the way. Morgan laughs once he realises what Niks is referring to: there aren't many photos but the ones that exist are, if he has to admit it, rather cute. "That's me," he nods, wandering up behind her and snaking his arms around Niks' waist as he peers over her shoulder at the moving picture: yep, him and Sabrina, right in this very living room. "I can't be older than ten, there. She didn't take a lot of photos - for obvious reasons - but she did her best."

"You are so cute." she gushes, looking back and forth between Morgan and the picture. She turns to face him and tiptoes to kiss him once, so overwhelmed with how sweet and small and unthreatening he used to look. "You were the most adorable kid ever." In true, lovestruck, teenage girl fashion her thoughts immediately begin wandering towards what their kids... Never mind. That's too far into the future. "You looked so happy."

The smirk on his face dissolves into just a genuine smile when Niks turns around to kiss him, and it's difficult to not just get distracted right there as he pulls her closer. "I was happy, to be honest." Sure, it was a little lonely; growing up with just a parent for company isn't ideal, even less so when they disappear on you. "It was fun here. I just spent the entire time exploring. It could have been worse." It goes unsaid that yes, it got worse, but talk about killing the mood. The last thing Morgan wants is for this trip to be depressing.

"That's good." she says sincerely, dragging him with her as she looks at the other frames on the wall. Morgan looks so tiny in all of them, and he looks so familiar too, which shouldn't come as a surprise, really. They were yearmates for six years before officially crossing paths. "You deserve to be happy." she tells him, "You've always deserved to be happy." She amends her statement.

Merlin, she's pretty. He's obviously always known that but it's in moments like this that he likes to dwell on it, watching her as her attention darts between all the photos. "Correction, then: I am happy." Which he is, truly: he's the happiest he's ever been in his life, and that's no exaggeration. Even the thought of coming back to Lindisfarne was terrifying a few years ago and now he's here, showing his girlfriend photos of his childhood; and not just any girlfriend but Niks. "And so do you. Oh- and you owe me your baby photos now. It's only fair."

"I'll tryyyy." she says, drawing out the word as she tries to think if she has any or if she left them behind when she was kicked out, but if it's something Morgan wants then she's sure she can find something. Her eyes land on a picture of him in his Hogwarts robes and suddenly a lightbulb goes off in her head. "Did Slytherin and Hufflepuff take History of Magic together in second year?" she asks out of the blue, trying to figure out if this is a false memory.

It's a bit of a random question, and Morgan's brow furrows a little as he wanders over to follow her, dropping a kiss onto the top of her head as he follows her gaze to the Hogwarts photo; green and black robes, maybe twelve years old? That must have been taken just before Sabrina left. He didn't take any afterwards - there wasn't really any point. "Um- I think so?" It's not like he's ever paid much attention in History of Magic, not even back then; probably the only consistent thing in Morgan's life has been his hatred of that subject. "It was a long time ago. Why, were we classmates or something?"

She laughs when the memory suddenly clicks together in her head. "Yeah, I think we were." she tells him, turning away from the pictures for a second to face him. "And I think we had to write a paper together on a relic of choice. And we got assigned Slytherin's locket." It's coming back to her now a bit clearer, how she'd been partners with a quiet boy from Slytherin who she had been so excited to make friends with only for him to tell her that they should just work on their parts separately then use a spell to put it together. "I am, like, eighty-percent sure."

Slytherin's locket... it definitely sounds familiar, and after a minute or two of thinking the memory emerges, fragmented and hazy but definitely there. He never paid attention in class and partner work was the bane of his existence - still is, if it's not with somebody he knows - so the chances that was an absolute prick to whoever he was paired up with is extremely likely. So imagine the look on his face when the recognition strikes him that yes, he did write a paper with somebody from Hufflepuff, and- "Oh no," he sighs, biting back a laugh - what are the chances? "Oh, I was awful to you, wasn't I? You don't have to sugarcoat it, I know I was." It's not funny but the irony is amazing; how the hell did it take them over six years to properly meet? Talk about wasted time.

"Not that awful." she says, even though now she remembers crying to the house elves about it in the kitchen afterwards. "I was really annoying back then." Of course, Niks thinks she's annoying until now so it doesn't make that much of a difference. "I forgot what I said, but I was talking way too much and then you told me we should just split it in half and that you'd use a spell to put it together on the day of submission." She laughs to show that she doesn't really care anymore. "Which, to be fair, smart idea."

Considering he now could listen to Niks talk for hours and never get bored, it's kind of painful to hear that he most likely contributed to that self-deprecation she's been working so hard to move away from. Maybe he should start being nicer to the random students he gets partnered up wi- yeah that's not going to happen. "I still use that trick now," he admits with a smirk, shaking his head at just how ridiculous that was. "How do you think me and Avery survived that project we did together? We just flipped a coin to see whose essay we'd submit." It's crazy, isn't it? Thinking that he'd end up head over heels with a random Hufflepuff student he was paired up with in second year. The world's a funny place. "Did we at least get a decent grade?"

"I don't remember." she admits, "I almost didn't even remember we were partners in the first place. Can you imagine we met five years ago?" So much wasted time, she thinks, before deciding against it. They probably met at the best possible time. And on Christmas Eve, too, which Niks will admit, she's always found incredibly romantic. "It's a good thing you scared me off," she jokes, "Imagine if we had become friends that early? You would've hated me or gotten sick of me and we'd never have gotten together."

He knows it's a joke - at least, he hopes it is - but the comment makes his face fall a little, because the concept of ever finding Niks annoying is beyond comprehension. The smile comes back just as quickly, a really? look on his face as he steps forward and dips his head to kiss her. "As if I'd ever get sick of you." Whether twelve-year-old him would have the same reaction is another matter, but Morgan has to agree that he met Niks properly at just the right time: he needed a ray of sunshine in his life and ended up walking right into one. Literally. "I was a pain in second year, though, I thought I was completely untouchable. And Sabrina had just left, so- yeah. I wouldn't have been much fun to be around." Hopefully he's a bit more bearable nowadays. "I'm sure you were amazing, though."

Every time she remembers Sabrina left him all alone, her face involuntarily falls a little bit but she manages to smile after a split second. "I would've loved you, even back then." she tells him. Niks always tosses around the word 'love' like that, but she hopes everyone knows she still means it with her whole heart every time. And even if she meant it platonically just now, she's also pretty sure if she met Morgan any sooner, it still would've taken a couple months tops for her to fall for him. He's her soulmate, after all, she thinks. "I was a disaster. I could barely talk to anyone without tripping over all my words and rambling until someone told me I needed to shut up and..." She stops talking and blushes a bit. "Well, I guess nothing's changed but still. I was a lot worse, back then! So embarrassing."

Oh, he knows that Niks means that; she's probably the only person who Morgan unconditionally trusts with the word love, and he's heard her say it a million times but it still makes him feel the same way. He kisses her again, just because he can, before grinning when the pink flush spreads across her face; she's so cute. "You're adorable." Let's ignore the fact that he probably would have been one of those people who told her to shut up. Hey, they've both grown since second year. "I would have loved you, too, I just would have been terrible at showing it. Not a lot has changed there, either." At least in the past few years: he did ghost her for a month, after all. "You have gotten more confident since we met, though. I can tell. It's been amazing to watch - you've got nothing to put yourself down about."

"Well, a lot of that's thanks to you." she tells him, walking around the interior of the cottage again, trying to find any other things from his past for her to gush over. She can't imagine the boy in those pictures just hanging out here all by himself; if she thinks about it too much, she's just going to end up getting even clingier and more affectionate with Morgan than she already is at the moment, and she doesn't want to do anything that he might not want. "Well, you and everyone else. Like Jocelyn!" She feels like her friend deserves a special shoutout, what with the amount of times Jocelyn has reassured her. "I love you guys so much."

The place really is immaculate; whatever charms Sabrina put down before she left have stood the test of time, since Morgan remembers that exact feather duster doing the rounds when he was barely eleven years old and it's still going, jauntily sweeping the dust from the top of the mantelpiece. There's a sofa and an armchair towards the centre of the room so Morgan perches himself on the former as he watches Niks go exploring, a fond smile on his face as she takes everything in. "We love you," he counters - thinking of how worried he was back at the start that Niks wouldn't get along with his cousins, that she was too kind or too genuinely good to ever be taken seriously by the le Feys seems ridiculous now. They feel closer than ever. "Jocelyn adores you. Whenever we go out to get tattoos, the conversation always turns to you, and how proud she is of you." It's a good thing that he gets on with Jocelyn, too: between being best friends with Niks and whatever she is with Tristan, animosity between them would have made things extremely awkward.

At that, she stops in her tracks, facing him again. "You really think so? I adore her." she says. Her fingers skim across the box of a jigsaw puzzle, and she smiles a bit at the idea of a younger Morgan on the floor with all the pieces scattered around as he tries to solve it. When he separates from her, she uses the chance to slide her other hand in her pocket and check if she still has her Christmas gift, once she feels the metal resting there she smiles and feels a bit calmer. She doesn't get them out just yet, choosing to sit on the couch beside him. She almost doesn't bother anymore with starting out on the opposite end; she knows that they always end up tangled up in each other anyway but she's still shy, and she doesn't want to invade his personal space without an invitation. "When we hang out, she talks about you, too." she says, "I'm glad you guys are friends."

The pattern that's emerged whenever they sit on a sofa is so blatant to Morgan, it makes him smirk; she always sits about a foot away and then ends up practically on top of him, and he doesn't see the point of having any distance between them whatsoever, so as soon as Niks sits down, Morgan's arm finds her shoulders and pulls her in close. "I'm glad we're friends too. There was a moment where I thought we weren't going to be," he says, grimacing a little; that encounter at the boathouse feels worlds away now but it's still weird to think about. "And that would have been awkward, but it worked out in the end. And now we're both covered in tattoos," he adds with a chuckle; he's already running out of space on his arms so the designs have started to creep across his chest and up onto his neck. Totally Jocelyn's fault. "How are things with you and Avery?"

After he pulls her in, she briefly considers just doing away with all her shyness and sitting next to him every single time this situation comes up again in the future, but she knows she doesn't have it in her. When he mentions his tattoos, she ends up tracing his skin again until she finds where the raven has flown off to. It's fluttering its wings near his collarbone and she smiles, amused by how it moves when she drags her finger towards it to touch it. It's still her favorite one. "We're fantastic." she says, "And she's so happy with her girlfriend, too, which is amazing. Do you know Luka? The two of them are so cute. I hope they end up together for real." She wants to add that she hopes she and Morgan end up together too, but that's too cheesy, so instead she opts to start playing with his hair absent-mindedly. "How is Tristan?"

He's not going to deny that he's been an absolute dick to Avery in the past (though he would argue that the feeling was very much mutual), but he's not going to be wish anything bad on her happiness; speaking from experience, there's no feeling more shit than not being able to be with your girlfriend. Merlin, when did he get so soft? "I don't know Luka. I don't know Avery that well, to be honest." Any chance of friendship between them is probably off the table but he bite his tongue for Niks' sake. The change of topic to Tristan is welcome, though. "He's fine! I think - and don't repeat this to either of them -" he starts with a knowing grin, looking down at Niks, "- that something's going on between him and Jocelyn. But I don't know what, and I'm not gonna ask because they'd both bite my head off. But from what I know for sure, he's very happy, and so are his snakes." He'd gone to check on the basilisk the other day, and you know what? It wasn't as scary as it usually is.

"Do you really think so?" She looks positively giddy at the prospect, already imagining the four of them going out together on double dates. "That would be so great for both of them!" Especially Jocelyn, especially after having dated someone as unpleasant as Saxon, Niks thinks. "They make a great match." she says, thinking about how wonderful it must be for Tristan, too. Tristan's, like, the coolest boy she knows! And now he's dating the coolest girl Niks knows! "I'm sorry you don't get a cool Parader girlfriend, though." "Oh, I don't know," he counters, matching her tone, "I get a girlfriend that can shoot fireballs. That's pretty fucking cool." There will never come a day where Morgan doesn't hype the shit out of Niks' powers - partly because he's still desperate for her to learn how to use them properly, especially now, but also because she's so ridiculously powerful and seemingly has no idea. Still, the insecurity is obvious in her voice; and even if it wasn't, Morgan would still know it was there, so he gives her a little nudge to grab her attention then cranes down to kiss her. "But even if you couldn't, I'd still be more than happy with what I've got."

Her heart practically melts at the reassurance, so she mumbled out an "I love you" and kisses him again before she can stop herself. She'd like to kiss him more, but she stops after one because she's certain she's trash at these things and doesn't want to to derail the conversation especially if he'd rather be talking instead. "I'm happy with what I've got, too." she says, because it's always nice reassuring people like that. It hasn't escaped him how Niks seems to pull away whenever things seem to be going anywhere, but whatever, he's not going to push. And besides, he's promptly distracted from that train of thought by the mention of a Christmas present - he's got her one, of course he has (maybe made one is a more appropriate term) but it's back at the Citadel and he didn't even think to bring it here with him. Oh well - Niks is coming for Christmas dinner anyway, he can give it to her then. "A present? I'm all ears," he smiles, quirking an eyebrow and shuffling a little so she can sit up properly.

She moves a bit, adjusting to a position where she can access her pocket but also still be as close to Morgan as humanly possible and gets out a pair of plain, silver rings and lets them rest in the palm of her hand. "Okay, first of all, I know it's kind of... whoa that they're rings, but I was trying to think of something small and I didn't realize that they were so commitment-y until halfway through working on them and then I figured you could just wear yours on the chain around your neck." Her face is red at this point, and she's refusing to look Morgan in the eye, afraid of his reaction. "Not that I'm telling you how to wear it, of course! You don't even have to use it, actually. In hindsight, they're not that clever and I just thought it would be nice because — " Niks takes a deep breath. "I cast a protean charm on them." she finally says, trying to calm herself down. "I was helping one of the younger years in the common room study History of Magic and I remembered that Dumbledore's Army had that whole thing with the coins and... yeah." She looks nervous. "So, even when we're far apart and we can't get in touch, we still have a way of communicating." she tells him, "So I know you're safe."

The sight of a pair of rings does take him aback a little at first - the idea of commitment doesn't freak him out as much as he'd ever expected it to but still, rings - but as soon as Niks starts talking and gets all flustered, the surprise melts away into sheer fondness. Of course Niks would get something like that for them, and then when she mentions the protean charm- "That's-" Morgan begins, lost for words; he knows Niks loves him, anybody can see that Niks loves him, but it's things like this that just knock him out every single time. He's gentle when he reaches out and picks up one of the rings, turning it over in his hand and keeping his eyes on it because if he looks up at Niks right now, he's in genuine danger of like, crying or something. "How do they work?" They're not coins, after all.

She's still nervous that he hates them and doesn't want her to feel bad. "Whatever happens to one of them happens to the other, right?" she says, a bit softer than her previous ramble. It's obvious how unsure she's beginning to feel about this gift, her insecurities getting the better of her. "I was thinking since they're metallic, just a change in temperature will do since that's pretty easy to do non-verbally I think, if you're in a rush and it's an emergency." She nonverbally heats up her palm just slightly so the other ring doesn't get too hot and burn Morgan; it's something she's been practicing. It's a lot less chaotic than casting a fireball. "But if it's like... you're on a mission and you've been gone for days and you actually have the time to send me a sign then you can literally do anything you want with it. Make it glow, make it cold, engrave something if you're desperate." She chuckles. "Sorry, I just realized how incredibly lame this is." she tells him, looking a bit disappointed. "We don't have to use them. I was just thinking it'd be a nice way of being able to make sure the other's okay."

It might not look like he's listening intently as she speaks, also preoccupied with sliding the ring onto his middle finger (third finger really feels wedding-y, and the last thing he wants to do is freak her out with how much commitment this really is) and smiling a little when it's a perfect fit. Wearing it around his neck is probably a better idea when he's around his family - Merlin, can you imagine the interrogation Sabrina would give him if she noticed he's wearing a ring - but there's no way he's taking it off while it's just them. The apology makes Morgan look up, though; he's not going to let her think that this is anything less than the best gift he's ever received in his life. "Hey," he says, voice soft as he reaches out to take Niks' face. "I love you so much. And this is- I-" Processing emotions has never been his strong point but verbalising them is even worse, and Morgan stumbles over his words for another few minutes before thinking screw it, and leaning in to kiss her, pulling her towards him as he does.

Since he's the one initiating, so she can be sure he wants to kiss her this tine, she seizes the opportunity and kisses him back. "I love you too," she says each word in between kisses as her hands find their way to his hair. She's slowly leaning back the point that she's almost lying down horizontally with him on top of her, when she realizes he never actually said he liked her gift and the insecurity settles in again that this is just his way of avoiding having to tell her. She's so in her head about it, she immediately starts apologizing once her mouth is no longer as preoccupied, in between kisses. "You know, we don't have to use them," she says, sounding unsure. "You don't even have to like them; it's totally fine! I won't mind." And then, as an afterthought, just because she's ridiculous and insecure, she adds. "Also you don't have to feel obligated to kiss me just because I got you something." she says a lot more shyly, trying to look somewhere that isn't him, which is kind of difficult since he's still practically on top of her. "Like, we can talk if you like!"

He follows her when she moves, the pull of her feeling like magnets and the kiss-studded words just making him laugh more than anything - she always does this, and it's just as adorable every time - but her obvious insecurity makes him pull back. "Niks," he begins, tilting his head slightly as he tries to decide what to say: how does he word you're the best thing that's ever happened to me without it sounding like the cheesiest thing in the world? Not that Niks would care, though. And not in this moment either. "I'm never taking it off. I love it, and I love you." He leans down a little to dip his lips into the crook of her neck, trailing kisses down to her collarbone until he hears that last part and pulls back again, brow a little furrowed. It's becoming a bit of a pattern now: they start getting somewhere and she interrupts, says they could just talk or watch television or something. "Are you okay?" he asks, voice more tentative than before. "Do you not want to?"

At the reassurance about the gift, she relaxes a little. Still, when she feels his mouth leave collarbone she immediately regrets having said anything at all; she could honestly wilt and die realizing that her insecurities have managed to kill the mood and make things awkward. "I do want to," she says sincerely, struggling to meet his eyes as she props herself back up until she's seated again. "I just thought... maybe... you didn't?" she says, the words sounding a lot stupider than they did in her head. "And that you'd rather do something else?"

Feeling her shuffle away and sit up makes his stomach sink a little - Merlin, is this where some horrible secrets comes out or something? Has he missed it entirely? - but he maintains composure as he moves back, expecting the worst and then melting a little when she says that. "Have I ever given you the impression I didn't want to?" he asks, brow creasing further; he hasn't, right? But he's also not exempt from blame - they've never actually had this conversation before and it seems like they're about it. In his childhood home, which is just- we're going to ignore the weirdness of this whole situation. "Or said something, or anything like that?"

Hearing the tone in his voice, she immediately realizes she’s being an idiot and silently prays for the ground to open up and swallow her whole. “No, you haven’t.” she tells him, her words coming out rushed and embarrassed. “Sorry, I’m just insecure and – yeah. And I love you a lot! Like, so, so, so much. I’m sorry for being so lame and overthinking all this and ruining things." She pouts before leaning in to kiss him quickly one more time just for reassurance because of the look on his face. "We can drop this." she tells him, her mind racing to figure out a new topic of discussion. "Do you have any other plans for the rest of break?"

She's not ruined anything, far from it - he's kind of glad she brought it up so he could stop being worried about her pulling away every time, but she kisses him before he has time to call her out on it. His hand flies up to cup her face when she leans in, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear at the same time, and then she tries to change the subject and Morgan has to do his best not to smile too wide. "We don't have to drop it," he offers. After all, they're on the subject - might as well confront it head-on. They're close enough for this to not be awkward, right? "But my only plans for break are Christmas dinner and then chilling out until term starts. I've got nothing on."

"We are so dropping this. I love you and I promise I'll stop being a disaster." she says, sounding extremely embarrassed. After hearing him talk about his plans, she decides to share her own. "I'm meeting up with my roommates for a New Year's thing, but other than that I'm free!" she says, "Which means that we can spend as much time together as you like. If you're not tired of me by then." She laughs. "You have to decide because I'd never get tired of you."

He should probably make an effort to meet up with some of his friends outside the Parade, too - what few he has. Will counts, and maybe Zelda, and- shit, did the thought of trying to contact Tessa really just cross his mind? The Christmas spirit is dangerous. "I'll never get tired of you," he counters quickly, saying it on instinct the minute she even jokingly puts herself down, and pulls her closer again because it really does feel weird to have her in the same room but not glued to his side like usual. It feels like he's missing a limb when she's not there. "Are you staying at Pandora's the whole time? I know the Citadel's a bit depressing but you're more than welcome there whenever you like."

She makes no resistance when he pulls her in, in fact cuddling up closer to Morgan until she's found a comfortable spot. "The Citadel isn't depressing." she says, as if she's trying to dig herself out of the hole she dug earlier when she mentioned it was. "I mean, just a bit, but I still think it's gorgeous! And you're there, and Jocelyn mentioned that we should have sleepovers there, too, so I'll definitely be there a lot over break." She smiles. "If you like, of course. And if you manage to distract your mom enough for you to hide me somewhere." She shakes her head fondly remembering the first time he brought her over. "I still can't believe no one told on you."

The Citadel is depressing, despite all of its beauty, you can't argue that; it's not like Sabrina has never had a flair for the macabre. Still, it's a relief when she cuddles into him so smoothly - he was lowkey expecting some resistance after that previous conversation, but thankfully there's nothing - and he kisses the top of her head as she finds her spot again, tucked into his side where she belongs. "Oh, I'm sure Adele will have told her the minute she got back," he smirks; whenever he does anything wrong, Morgan can always count on his step-mother to rat him out. So much for family loyalty. "She's always held a grudge. I'm sure after Christmas dinner, though, I won't have to hide you anymore."

"I'd like that." she says, smiling up at him before craning her neck so she can kiss him again. The idea of not having to be on edge every time she visits the Citadel, scared that Sabrina's going to catch them making out or something, is very appealing. "I need to get used to being in the Citadel anyway for when – " They inevitably end up together, and she ends up living there, is what she's about to say. She turns red. "For when I visit more often after graduation." she ends up saying instead.

It's as if he can read her mind sometimes, finishing her sentence in his head - or at least what he knows she wanted to say - and smirking at when she goes with instead. "You're not staying at Pandora's, then?" Even if she doesn't end up moving into the Citadel, Morgan can very easily picture her buying Jolies Fleur and moving into the apartment in there. At least it'd be a lot prettier than the Citadel - a lot less depressing, too.

"I don't know." she admits, "I could just move into the apartment above the shop, but that'd be really lonely. I wouldn't want to live by myself. You guys could totally use it, too! You, Tristan, Iseult, and Jocelyn. I don't think anyone would suspect you'd be there, and I don't think the Parade has any hideouts in Lincliff yet, right?" she tells him, having actually put a lot of thought into this before. She just wants to be a good, supportive girlfriend and she feels like providing her boyfriend's crime syndicate with more places they can meet up is definitely supportive, right? "Anyway, Avery mentioned getting a place together, too, but I'm not sure if she'd be able to put up with me setting the curtains on fire all the time. I might just stay with Pandora, because I know she'll still definitely have me. You're right." she says, sounding a bit embarrassed that she even thought that far ahead.

Morgan would be lying if he said he hadn't considered the apartment as a potential Parade hideout; it's mundane and inconspicuous, and it wouldn't hurt to have a base in Lincliff, considering Tessa owns half of the businesses down there and there's always some shady deals going down in the back alleys. Hearing Niks offer it, though, is something else entirely, and he can't help but practically melt at how much she's clearly thought about it. It's crazy to think that once upon a time, the idea of her knowing literally anything about his family was the scariest thing in the world and now here they are, discussing using her workplace as a hideout. "That's a great idea. Thank you," he says, kissing her temple, before rolling his eyes and pulling her in for a proper kiss at her next words. "You're more than welcome at the Citadel for as long as you like, you know that. It's not like we're ever going to run out of room down there."

Niks thinks for a couple of seconds about how gloomy the Citadel can be, with the catacombs and ominous darkness that seems to shroud half the place. Then, she looks back at Morgan's face and smiles. Definitely worth it. She kisses him again when he makes the offer and pulls away with a big grin on her face. "I might just take you up on your offer." she says, "You know I'd take any chance to spend more time with you."

He wouldn’t blame her if she wanted to stay in the apartment; somebody who’s a walking ray of sunshine like Niks is shouldn’t be cooped up down in the Citadel all day, and Morgan’s about to bring up that point but then she smiles like that, and you know what? Screw it. He’d live pretty much anywhere if it meant he could be with her. “Good to know,” he smiles, retracting his arm from around her shoulders and snaking it around her waist so he can pull her practically on top of him, kissing her cheek as she moves. “Since you’re stuck with me for the foreseeable.”

She adjusts to her new position, smiling as she leans in until their faces are so close their foreheads are touching. She knows what she's about to say is corny and cheesy, but she doesn't really care if it means reminding Morgan that she's not going anywhere. "I wouldn't call it stuck with you if I'm choosing to stay." she tells him, sounding quite convinced she's never going to leave him. She knows he has a lot of issues with that; literally no one can blame him for it. And it definitely hurts her knowing everything that he's been through, but right now she feels so happy and she can only hope he feels happy too. He deserves it. "I love you."

Is it cheesy? Probably - if Tristan or, Merlin forbid, Sabrina could see the look on his face right now, Morgan’s pretty sure he’d never hear the end of it - but he doesn’t care. He’s home for the first time in years, and happy for the first time ever. He’s allowed to look like that. “I love you too,” he smiles, before leaning forward to close the gap.
