	Appearance Eye Color Blue Hair Color Brown Height 5'7" Style Extravagant, stylish, trendy Faceclaim Margaret Qualley Maya is pretty enough to have thousands of followers on Witchagram, but she'd tell you that's just because she knows her angles. Incredibly vain, one of her greatest fears is waking up with scars all over her face. She believes her beauty is her greatest asset, and that coupled with her charm, it will take her far in life. She takes impeccable care of her appearance, so you will always find her hair neatly combed, her skin clearer than her future, and her smile a dazzling white.

History

The daughter of an heiress to a billion dollar diamond business, and one of America's top financial analysts, Maya was pretty much born a princess. Inspired by role models such as Cher from Clueless, Sharpay Evans, Blair Waldorf, and all four Bratz girls, Maya grew comfortably into her role as a socialite. This was done with a less than ideal amount of parental supervision; both her mother and father were lived fast-paced lives and often left Maya at home in their very large mansion. Things could be worse, she supposes, but it did prove to be a bit of a lonely childhood. Even her first incident of magic went unnoticed – after watching an X-Men movie for the first time, Maya began levitating off the ground and referring to herself as Dark Phoenix.

When she was eleven, she was enrolled in Ilvermorny where she was promptly sorted into Thunderbird. She quickly got mixed up with the "wrong crowd" and often acted as the financial support backing their misadventures. Impressionable and easily peer pressured, Maya got into a lot of less than appropriate activities (at least, by her father's standards) which landed her in the headmaster's office more than a couple times, and only further drove a wedge between Maya and her parents, who did not seem to care enough to properly discipline her.

Born to be in the spotlight, Maya found attention elsewhere. She started vlogging, making countless TikToks, and posting her entire life story on her Witchagram. Her parents already established figures in society, it was easy for her to amass an online following. Now, she's an influencer, which means she gets paid to post pretty pictures of herself in nice clothes and make-up, which is pretty much the actualization of her lifelong dream.

In her fourth year, she got into a bit of trouble again and Ilvermorny seemed to have reached their limit. Her friends got her into experimenting with drugs, and she accidentally failed to show up for two final exams in the morning, then flunked the one she had to take in that afternoon. She took the fall for the group out of a sense of loyalty (and her friends are immensely grateful for that). As a result, she was kicked out of Ilvermorny and her parents made the decision to send her to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which perfectly aligned with their plans to establish a new location for Periculum Park in the UK.

Sorted into Gryffindor, Maya was able to make friends with people who were better influences than her old ones. Miraculously, she was also able to pass her OWLs in fifth year (save for that one grade of Troll in History of Magic – but what does that matter?) and also get a position as beater for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Currently, she is enjoying life, spending most of her weekends getting her friends to skip the lines at the amusement park, and doing some modeling gigs on the side. She is absolutely, perfectly content – except for a slight internal struggle as she's beginning to come to terms with the fact that a.) she may be a lot more interested in other girls than she thought and b.) that she might be pining hard for one of her closest friends, Chrysanthemum von Mirbach.

		Personality (+): adventurous, playful, outgoing (–): impulsive, reckless, spoiled Maya grew up with little to no consequences for all her actions and has thus never really learned to hold herself accountable. With a seemingly endless credit card limit as well, she's incredibly spoiled and believes that money can solve most if not all, the world's problems. She is a bit insensitive when it comes to others and their financial situations, and lives in her own, very sheltered world. Nonetheless, it's hard to be mad at Maya (unless you're Az Cagan) as her hyperactive and bubbly personality seem to balance out the level to which she is out of touch with the rest of the world. Not to mention, she is exceedingly generous and eager to please, so she often spoils her friends with gifts and extravagant adventures. She has become a bit more conscious of trying not to flaunt her wealth, but she can't help the environment that she grew up in. Maya has a deep desire to always be interesting to everyone. Growing up with little attention from her parents took its toll on her that she requires much external validation from her friends and her thousands of followers. After being repeatedly told that she is lazy and dumb by various authority figures, she chooses to focus on her strengths: her charm, her looks, and her somewhat acute sense of business and marketing. She is confident in her own ability to succeed in life because she knows that if she doesn't believe in herself, no one will. Maya is always looking for an adventure. She loathes the idea of her life becoming boring, and she is ecstatic that she is set to inherit an amusement park chain when she grows up one day. Life can never be boring if you can ride a rollercoaster whenever you want, right? She lives very fast-paced and occasionally it is hard to keep up with her, but she cares about her friends and would not leave anyone behind intentionally.
