Nolan is a bright, clever, and witty young man who loves to have a good time. He is very social and loves to hang out and go places. While being the life of the party, Nolan can easily get upset if things don't go his way. Nolan won't tell you how he is feeling, but usually his mood swings give it away. He has a bad temper, but his close friends know how to handle him. Due to his anger issues, he often has to charm his way out of trouble but that comes easily to Nolan. Despite his controlling behavior, Nolan treats his loved ones with tender care. He is a very confusing person, but he is worth trying to figure out. His cocky attitude and arrogant ego often get him into difficult situations, but he always puts his pride first. All negative qualities aside, Nolan strives to be the best and make his father proud. He constantly wants to give his friends the best, and doesn't mind roughing up anyone who stands in the way of him doing that. Though aggressive when it comes to his enimies, he has a major soft spot for children. He'll deny it, but he becomes a more sensitive person when he's around young kids. He is often cold and distant any other time, but he never loses his strong and firm exterior.
Nolan Cook was born on Febuary 1 to a muggle mother named Margie Cook and a former Ravenclaw wizard of Hogwarts named Johnathan (John) Cook. Nolan had a very happy childhood; he would always read with his father and help his mother at her bakery. They were a perfect little family until tragedy struck when Nolan was only eight years old. Margie was pregenant with Nolan's soon-to-be sister and became very ill. Margie passed away giving birth to her second child. Unfortunately, the child was still-born. John and Nolan were left alone, and both became cold and hard. Their relationship became distant, and Nolan barely talked to his father. He was filled with hate, anger, sadness, but worst of all - pain.
Nolan went on in that tragic state for years until he recieved his letter for Hogwarts. He met his best friend Tara his first year there, and ever since they'd been close. Tara was like the sister that he never got to meet. Nolan's state slowly improved and he was finally able to feel happy again. He found a place on the Quidditch Team, and was able to let most of his fury out in the arena. Nolan is very protective over his few friends but doesn't hesitate on beating them in a good game of Quidditch. Despite Nolan's emotions, he managed to maintain decent grades and make a few friends. Nolan also continues to bake, though not many people are aware of his cooking skills. He sees baking as a way to feel close to his mom again.
"She changed. When she went away something happened. The Eloise that came back from Russia wasn't the same Eloise I met back at the quidditch shop. Then she left again. No explanation... Just gone. What's new?"
"Kat is amazing. She's a great friend, and I'm glad I got to meet her. She's gone... She was sick and she didn't even tell me... I could've done something - I could've helped! Bloody hell... I should've done something..."
Roommate, Friend, and Quickly Developing Into Something More
"Oh my gosh, she's so great. She makes me laugh and smile, and - ugh, I'm not alone anymore... She's made me happy again. I don't know how, but she just makes life so much better - wait, we're not telling her any of this, right?"
