Muggles Rufus Abberly and Johnson Bexley were as close to the textbook example of two people trying to figure out their sexualities as possible. Both of them, through confiding in each other as best friends, slowly came to the realisation that neither were, well, straight and, on top of that, both harboured a form of crush on the other. As people around them expected, their relationship was strong and, before long, the two were married and lived happily in a small cottage in the English countryside. Perhaps unfortunately for them, this would be the only part of their lives from that point on that would be predictable.
It was no secret the two wanted kids and, from saving up and using lifelong savings, the two were able to go through the process of having children together biologically. Paying that little extra, the two had twins and readily anticipated the birth of their children. The two spent countless hours converting their home into one that was toddler friendly and fit for twins. With nine months passing, Rufus and Johnson saw the delivery of their twin sons from an artificial womb, naming them Theodore and Octavio.
Octavio was the more adventurous of the two; often getting into trouble for doing things that piqued his curiosity, or as he liked to say, "in the name of science!". He was a bookworm - always had his bedside lamp on, reading into the night and getting scolded by his parents for staying up past his bedtime. He also had an interest in music, teaching himself how to play various instruments, as well as different European languages.
He eventually started attending Muggle primary school with his brother, Teddy, much to his delight because of his passion to learn. He easily became one of the top students in his grade, not just academics, but in extra curricular activities as well. He excelled in his science and language classes, as well as maths and music, and he joined the track and wrestling teams as well as school newspaper. Everything was fine and dandy, and he was able to handle the workload until one fateful day, when his brother apparently made some things explode. It was all very strange, and the weirdness just increased when on the same day, Octavio magically repaired the lab test tubes that he accidentally broke. He only told his brother of the situation.
He was determined to put everything behind him, because it creeped him out as well. Not even his intelligent mind could process and explain what exactly happened - unless something supernatural was involved which, they can't possibly be - and his resources were scarce, so he couldn't really explain what was going on. He went on with life, continued to do well in school, almost forgetting about it.
Then the unexpected happened. On their eleventh birthdays, Christmas Day, the two received letters from a 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.' Neither Rufus nor Johnson took it seriously; although they were muggles with the odd magical friend who was masquerading in their society, neither of them ever took said friends' words seriously and played it off as one of them playing a trick on them. It wasn't until the new year, when they asked said friends how they managed to coordinate it without being seen, were they informed that, no, the letters were very much real and that, yes, their sons were a part of the magical world. Things began to make sense, namely the twins' magical experiences. With their plans for secondary schools now shuffled dramatically, the couple enlisted the help of their friends to prepare their sons for their lives at Hogwarts.
Since coming to Hogwarts, Tavi has been sorted into _____ and has thrived immensely. Continuing his "streak" from Muggle school, Tavi began to dominate the academic scene once again, really delighted about all the exceptional things he's been learning about magic and the wizarding world - two thing he could never have fathomed back when he was younger. There's a lot less options for extra curriculars in Hogwarts though, than there were in Muggle school, but Tavi's fine with it. He can just stick with Wizard Chess, and perhaps try out for Quidditch in the future.
