luciana & simon: aprendo una nuova porta[]

Luciana has many things to do, still. She has yet to finish moving her boxes into her new residence, she hasn't even begun unpacking, and her furniture is still a dismantled mess, but here she is, taking what she believes is a well-deserved break to sit out on a small bench at the back of the grassy bank, staring up at the screen that is playing some old-timey Halloween movie. She couldn't care less. It's not a horror film; just an animated movie for families. Truth be told, Christmas is more her thing than Halloween is, so while this outing provides a small, welcomed reprieve from her life, she isn't fully committing her attention to the screen. She's glancing around occasionally in between sips of her espresso, musing about the lives of these complete strangers sitting steps away from her.

Simon was sitting almost right in front of her, tossing popcorn directly into his mouth, high up into the air then into his mouth. He was there because he was meant to be taking his pseudo-niece but she'd pulled out. So he decided to go anyway. He didn't really have any defining opinions on the movie, or any film genre, he likes them all, though he naturally gravitates to those films considered cult classics. Such as this one. Maybe it was better that he was the only one who had gone, he didn't have to moderate his enjoyment at the crappy CGI. He hadn't noticed Luciana, but he wasn't really looking at anyone–he wasn't going to be drawing attention to himself. He was already wearing a cap to try and hide his face, or risk some quidditch fan approaching him.

Luciana isn't all that impressed by the film currently playing, and it shows in the way her eyes drift away from the screen to admire the people that surround her. It's how she ultimately takes notice of Simon, whose presence brings a small smile to her face. It's not because she notices him. On the contrary, honestly. Luciana isn't a fan of quidditch. She never has been, and frankly, she has better things to do than ogle at men in form-fitting quidditch uniforms risking their lives chasing after a ball. She doesn't hate the sport, and she doesn't not respect it, but she would truthfully argue that it's a very insignificant career. She's not blind, though, and she likes to admire a pretty side-profile when she sees one. It just so happens that Simon is very easy on the eyes from this angle, and she'd love if she could appreciate his entire face. She doesn't say anything, though; she's bold, but not that bold. No, she's content to keep to herself, admiring him from afar for a few moments longer before she redirects her attention back to the vampire on-screen.

Simon would have to disrespectfully disagree with her belief. Quidditch stars were the epitome of celebrities. It wasn't rather quick of Simon to notice he had an admirer. When he did, he turned to meet Luckiana's eyes. He didn't recognise her (why would he?) but part of him wondered if she recognised him. Not that he was going to brag or assume or anything like that. Instead, he offered the box of popcorn out for her. "Want some?" He asked, figuring he may as well strike up a conversation and see whether or not he should be worried about a potential stalker. Or even make a new friend. "A lot of butter though, just a warning." He liked coating it with butter. And chocolate, but it always kept on disappearing from his jacket every time he went to Malia's house. He never questioned it too deeply.
