Eric and Theresa Thorpe met in May of 2013 at a baseball game in Seattle. Eric was a muggle businessman while Theresa was a witch who worked for a magical magazine based in Seattle. The two hit it off pretty well and started dating pretty quick after. Clearly, Eric didn't know that Theresa was a witch, and it killed her to keep it from him. As they got more and more serious, Theresa decided to tell him. She knew it was risking a lot, but she couldn't keep it from him. Especially since she thought she loved him. Fortunately, it worked out well for her, and within a few months, the two were engaged. Within a year, the two were married and expecting their first child, Roger. Two years later, they had Jessica. Three years later, they had Ashley, and then, in another four years, their final baby, Preston, came into the world.
Preston became the baby in every sense of the word. He got whatever he wanted from his parents, and even his siblings adored him enough to not complain when they had to watch him. With two parents that had decent jobs, he was never left wanting for anything. They had a nice house on Mercer Island just outside Seattle and anything that Preston wanted, his family would happily get it for him. But, even being raised with money, Preston's parents had high expectations of respect and kindness of their children. If they didn't behave like model citizens, the punishments would be severe and the lavish life they lived would be put on hold until they learned how to act.
With his siblings being closer in age than to himself, he did grow up feeling a little left out. They still loved him, and he knew that, but sometimes, it felt like they were only hanging out with him or taking him places because they had to, not that they wanted to. So, he did what he could to make is siblings want to be his friend, stepping up his maturity to match their age, rather than that of his peer group.
When Preston turned eleven, he was finally able to attend Ilvermorny, like his siblings. He was sorted into Pukwudgie, but was very disappointed to find out the Quidditch was not played at the school. However, he made it past that little hiccup and grew happy being there. It was nice to have a break from Mom and Dad, but being so far was a little difficult. But, he did have his sister Ashley there with him for a few years to help him get accustomed.
Unfortunately, Preston's time at Ilvermorny wouldn't last as long as he thought. Just before his third year finished, his dad got a new job in London, forcing the family to move from the United States. Preston had to transfer to Hogwarts, and while they had the Quidditch he wanted, he had just started to feel at home at Ilvermorny and was upset to be leaving. He will now start his fourth year at Hogwarts.
