Winnie still had a wide grin on her face. She didn't get to see Emily much and when she did, the older girl usually made her feel kind of stupid, but that didn't mean she didn't look up to her tons. "How are you?" She said in a cheery voice.

Winnie flinched when Felicity ran past them. She scrunched up her nose before looking back up at her cousin. "A little bit...Mummy said I'm getting kinda tall." Her parents told her she was an inch taller than the average seven year old girl, which made her feel big, but she didn't like feeling big. "But I don't know."

"No...Felicity doesn't scare me. She's...sweet." She smiled politely, looking her cousin up and down and shifting slightly so she wouldn't get her wet. Shiloh had been tugging at her arm to go somewhere else, but Winnie wasn't certain someone was watching out for her, so she didn't want to let her go and risk her going into the water alone.

Winnie didn't feel included by her cousins all of the time, because most of them were rambunctious like Felicity and she just...wasn't. Having Emily around was nice and she hoped she would stay around for longer. "Exactly," she said quietly, returning Emily's small smile before looking back at Felicity.

She'd pause and consider how to phrase it so Felicity would understand. "You give off active energy which can conflict with the more passive energy other people give off. Its not necessarily a bad thing and not something you do intentionally since you probably do not even notice it." She'd smile. "...and yes the twins are a lot worse about it than you are."

Winnie actually feared the twins. The thought of them coming around and picking on her made her nervous, so she looked around to see where they were. Just in case. "Yeah, you're not like the boys, Felicity." She smiled slightly. "It doesn't mean you're not...what's that word for loud and hyper?" She looked up at Emily when she asked it, hoping she wouldn't shame her for not knowing.

She looked back at Felicity and frowned. She didn't know that word either. "No...Mummy says something else." She looked back at her mum and almost ran over to ask, but didn't want to embarrass herself. "You know what I'm talking about, right, Emily?" She said again, looking back to her.

She'd try to pick up where Felicity left off. "Felicity, you are extroverted and Winnie and I are not. It just means sometimes it takes us some extra effort to be social that it does not take you. It can be good since otherwise we would be even less social than we are and sometimes we need that."

She will go play and exhaust herself having fun and probably have forgotten the whole thing by this afternoon. Bringing it up again, even to apologize, would only reopen the wound that has already healed. If it bothers her she will bring it up and we can try to explain then."

Winnie's thinking had always been a tad slower and being around Emily really highlighted that. She felt stupid for even suggesting it, because her cousin was probably right. She was always right. "Oh, okay. Are you going to go swimming?"

Winnie looked down at her little sister, before looking back at Emily. "I don't think she can swim." She looked back at her parents again, trying to get their attention while still talking to her cousin. "So, she has to be watched and I can't watch her." She didn't have the strength or lung capacity to save her sister if she started drowning - to be fair. When her mother waved at her, she motioned at her sister, then whispered something to her and let her run off towards their mother.

That might make it more challenging." OOC: With her bday in January and it being June IC, she's only about 5 months old? Would she be crawling yet? I thought that happened closer to 6 months.

Usually actual crawling is 6 months+ but they can wiggle around and get from place to place over time. They can roll over and over to get over to something they want too. :P So...she probably wouldn't actually crawl yet but it doesn't mean she couldn't move around some or like playing or moving in the grass/sand/etc.

"Sure...since you usually do bath time why don't you do it with her since she's more comfortable with you in the water." OOC: It's been 5ish months so she's definitely back at work. My quick thought would be she took between 2 and 3 months...but never having been on the woman's side of it in the real world I don't know if that's realistic. When Lincoln was born I took 2 weeks and I'll probably be taking 2-3 for this next one. A whole lot more goes into the woman going back to work, especially if they're doing breast-milk.

"Should we see if you like the lake water?" He asked with enthusiasm. "It might be cold!" He sat down at the edge of the water, and supported Sofie so she was in a standing position, with her toes just grazing the water. OOC: Women usually take anywhere from 6-12 weeks, depending on what their benefits package will cover. Sometimes people I know get offered 6 weeks, and then use stockpiled sick time to get to 12 weeks.

He held Sofie securely and dipped his hand into the water and scooped it up, and let it fall back down like he had with the sand. "See that?"
