From the Entrance Hall you'll walk across the grounds here to the stables. There's room for plenty of animals, though the stables are currently empty. Not too far from the stables is the Quidditch Pitch, and back beyond that is the Lake.
She'd frown slightly. "No...but that doesn't mean we can't see how one another is doing occasionally either." She'd pause. "So how was the end of your year? What did you think about the end of term exams?"

He gave her a strange look. "They went fine, Mom," he said.
She'd throw up her hands. "Fine...if you're going to be a jerk about it just forget I ever asked." She'd turn to head back towards the house.

"Aria..." he shook his head. All he was trying to do was point out she was acting more like a mom than a sister. If she couldn't figure that out... then that was on her. "Do you want to go riding?" He called after her.
She'd roll her eyes. "Talk them into it as mention it would be a cool family experience and a lot of fun. Obviously I don't expect to be able to change their minds if they decide it's a "No" but it can't hurt to ask."

He nodded slowly, clearly thinking it over. It was kind of a big ask...
She'd nod. "I'll apply for that and Quidditch Captain...mostly since our last Captain graduated hit last year and I think everyone else on the team was younger than me. Hopefully I'll get one or the other."

He nodded. "Is there one you want more? You always said you were just doing Quidditch for fun, not... for serious."
She'd consider that. "I think I like prefect better but I want to make sure our Quidditch Team does well and...if I'm the most qualified person for that I think I'd make a bigger impact there." She'd shrug. "I'm sure our Head of House will make the right choice."

She talked about these... high positions of power so nonchalantly. It was strange for him. Like they were just... hers for the taking. "Do we get... stuff like that more easily because of who our parents are?" he asked.
She'd frown a little confused. "I...don't think so? I mean Dad...and I think Mom too both taught at Hogwarts but almost all the staff is newer so I don't think anyone would know them...and even if they did I don't think they'd generally do that sort of thing." She'd pause and look over at him. "Why?"
Jonathan PrinceThird Year Hufflepuff -Son of Ash and Charity Prince – 17:29, October 16, 2019 (UTC)
"You just seem to talk about these positions like... you assume they're yours for the taking. You got Prefect as a fourth year I mean... I know Dad's a pretty influential guy. I guess... I wonder if I should just be expecting this stuff the way you do."
She'd frown. "How do I seem to be...expecting anything? I didn't expect to get Prefect last year? I applied for both this year...but I think I said hopefully I get one or the other. I don't think there's any guarantee I'll get either of them...so I'm not sure why you think I expect that?"
Jonathan PrinceThird Year Hufflepuff -Son of Ash and Charity Prince – 17:42, October 16, 2019 (UTC)
"You got Prefect as a fourth year. You talked about being the most qualified... but don't you think they'd give the position to an older year, even if they hadn't been on the team as long? Those titles go to... older students, right? People who have less time to enjoy them, when you could always go for it another year?"
She'd continue to frown. "I...assume I got prefect because I was the most qualified student that my Head of House thought would be willing to help at least last year. That might be true this year. As for Quidditch Captain I applied because I was the oldest student on the team other than the Captain last year...but maybe that won't be true this year or someone else will be a better captain that I will." She'd pause. "I don't necessarily think those jobs go to older students but the ones who the Heads of House think will be good doing them?"
OOC: I did...but I haven't had time to respond. I don't know is the short answer.
Jonathan PrinceThird Year Hufflepuff -Son of Ash and Charity Prince – 17:55, October 16, 2019 (UTC)
"Which you... clearly think you are?" he asked. "Why?"
She still seemed confused. "For prefect...because I was last year? Unless there's someone at school who wasn't there last year, why would that change? For Quidditch...I don't know that. I just happen to be the oldest student from last year's team." She'd pause. "I don't...understand what I'm missing. It seems pretty straightforward to me."
Jonathan PrinceThird Year Hufflepuff -Son of Ash and Charity Prince – 18:02, October 16, 2019 (UTC)~
"You just don't seem to... doubt yourself at all, I guess."
She'd try to work out what his real point was. "I guess that's just because...I'm fine with whatever the result is? I see being a Prefect or Quidditch Captain as opportunities to help younger or less experienced students...but if I don't get the positions it means there's someone else who's better equipped or more willing to do that which I think it great."
Jonathan PrinceThird Year Hufflepuff -Son of Ash and Charity Prince – 18:09, October 16, 2019 (UTC)~
He nodded slowly. "But... what if it goes to someone who's not? I mean... look at the government right now."
OOC: Since this RP happened started before the end of the expansion.
She'd shrug. "That's not my call...all I can do is continue doing what I feel I need to do and helping people the best I can regardless. If I do get the position it better enables me to do that. If not, it doesn't mean I can just ignore everyone else or be a jerk."
Jonathan PrinceThird Year Hufflepuff -Son of Ash and Charity Prince – 18:16, October 16, 2019 (UTC)
"You think that... just looking after yourself, and letting everyone else just... be... makes you a jerk?"
She'd speak slowly. "I said OR. It doesn't mean I can ignore people OR be a jerk...but I think that ignoring people at the least can seem unfriendly and if you deliberately ignore someone who need help...yeah that's sort of a jerk thing to do."
Jonathan PrinceThird Year Hufflepuff -Son of Ash and Charity Prince – 18:49, October 16, 2019 (UTC)
"Well yeah," he said quickly before falling silent, thinking things over.
