Denote because I'm related to Faith, and because we don't get along. Cassidy because you put her onto me. Norman because she lives out by Princess and was livid last year about being in the forest. ...and then Ash. By now I wouldn't be surprised if the Headmistress was keeping an eye on me too."

At Christmas, I'll ask Ash how it's going. If he sees that you are still skipping classes, and breaking curfew to go see her.... after that, she will come to live with Ash and I at the cottage he got for the two of us. It's not far from Hogwarts, but you wouldn't be allowed to see her, except on weekends." She paused. "If you can prove to me-- and the Hogwarts staff-- that you can be responsible. Get enough sleep. Go to your classes. Don't break rules. Then Princess can stay. Does that sound fair?"

It didn't sound fair, and her initial reaction was to argue...but that didn't seem to get her anywhere with Charity lately. Besides...she'd only skipped classes after the...accident, and that really had nothing to do with Princess...and Charity had no way of knowing she'd actually been out after curfew...the few times she'd been caught hadn't amounted to anything. It was rediculious to think that they could keep Princess away, at their cottage or whatever even if she decided to get into trouble AND got caught... She'd give a sincere nod. "Sure."

She immediately opened the door and crouched down, pulling her sister onto her lap. "Melinda! Melinda! Can you hear me?" she asked, looking to see if Melinda's chest was rising and falling.
