Name Etymology
Rainer is the German form of the name Rayner.
Harri is the Finnish version of the name Harry.
Nurmi is a Finnish surname meaning 'meadow'.
History
Aino Laaksonen and Harri Nurmi met on vacation at the age of sixteen in the Åland Islands, the Swedish speaking islands of Finland. Aino was born there to a muggle-born mother and a pure-blood father, and since the age of nine had been living in England, since her parents had wanted her to go to Hogwarts, where she was sorted into Ravenclaw. Harri was born in Helsinki, to pure-blood parents, and had been a top student at Durmstang.
Over the summer, Aino and Harri had a fling, before breaking up, thinking that they'll never see each other again. The next summer, Aino moved to Helsinki, and after walking around the city, she bumped into Harri, and they began dating. The next year, they got married and had their first child, a boy named Rainer Harri.
Over the course of 12 years, the couple had five more children, a girl, Kristen "Krista" Elina was born, two years younger than Rainer. Then it was a boy, Mikael Reino, two years younger than Krista, and then Linnea Viivi was born, two years younger than Mikael. 5 years after Linnea's birth, another girl was added to the family, Sofia Helmi. Finally, the youngest, Tino Matias was born.
Rainer grew up in a very busy home, nearly always keeping to himself. Soon after the birth of his younger sister Sofia, Rainer started attending Durmstang, and at once showed a brilliant mind for magic. He met his best friend, Alexander Falk, early in his first year. He graduated at the top of his class.
Rainer traveled to England after he graduated from Hogwarts, while exploring Diagon Alley, he came across Caralyn Michaels, an English muggle-born witch who was going to start her seventh year at Hogwarts. They hit it of pretty well, Rainer being attracted to Caralyn's happy nature.
They wrote each other letters during her seventh year and began dating as soon as Caralyn graduated from Hogwarts. After two years of dating, they married on a warm September day and had their first child, Sarianne Lily, a year after. A boy joined the family two years after, Daavid Henry joined the family. A year ago, their current youngest, Suoma Minerva, was born. He is the head of the Portkey Office.
Appearance
Rainer is considered handsome by many people. He is tall and lanky, standing at 6'2. He has dark brown hair, which can also appear as black sometimes. He has grey eyes, they aren't light, but they're not dark, they're just grey.
Personality
He's shy and quiet, and is slightly serious. He however, does have a slight sense of humor, and he cares very deeply for his family and friends. He is a leader rather than a follower, as is slightly arrogant, but most people never see his arrogance. He is highly intelligent, as he had graduated as the top of his class.
Magical Skills and Abilities
- Transfiguration: His favorite subject.
- Potions: It ranks a close second after transfiguration as being one of his favorite subjects.
- Dark Arts: Rainer, having gone to Durmstang, knows Dark magic, but hasn't used it, and probably won't use it.

Caralyn Nurmi
Caralyn is his wife, how he loves very much. They've been married for nearly 7 years.
Sarianne, Daavid, and Suoma Nurmi
His children, ages 6, 4, and 1, he loves all of them dearly, and loves to play around with them.
Aino and Harri Nurmi
His parents, he isn't as close to both of them as his younger siblings are, since he's the oldest, and as his mother put it, 'He grew up too fast'.
Krista and Linus Bergström
His sister and brother-in-law/friend, Rainer wasn't too happy when his younger sister started dating one of his friends, but now that they're married, he's doesn't really mind anymore.
Staffan, Sebastian, and Svea Bergström
Rainer's nephews and niece, ages 4 and 10 months, he hasn't seen much of them.
Mikael and Katriina Nurmi
His brother and sister-in-law, Katriina's mother was a friend of their mother's. It wasn't really a surprise when they started dating and got married. He sees more of them than any other of his siblings.
Elisabet Nurmi
His niece, at a year old, she's very sweet.
Linnea and Ari Laiti
His sister and her husband. Rainer doesn't approve, seeing that they got married young, but he doesn't say anything.
Sofia Nurmi
His youngest sister, she hasn't done anything to upset him. She lives with him and Caralyn, though she is only around during the summer, seeing that she goes to Hogwarts.
Tino Nurmi
His youngest brother, he endlessly amuses him. He is also living with him, as he is going to Hogwarts.
