My god, what a fucking day. Iseult kicks off her heels by her bed and climbs on top of it. Chad Schloenfield - or Brad? Maybe it was Galahad? Anyway whatever - one of them had the nerve to speak to her today and honestly, it's just too much. A bat-bogey hex was more than enough to get him to piss off. She leans against the headboard, rubbing her temples in hope that the Schloenfields just....wilt.

Ugh, Daphne couldn't wait to sleep. Two weeks in and swarms of first years still don't know where their dorms are - she shouldn't complain, she's being selfish. She gave out a large sigh and she sat on the floor, gazing at her small mirror as she wiped her makeup off. "Rough day, huh?" She directed toward Iseult, in the couple years they've roomed together most of their conversations could be boiled down to basic small talk.

Avery is minding her business, trying to spit out her Herbology journal when Iseult comes in and then Daphne. She looks up instinctively, but looks back down to finish at least her second paragraph. When she does that, she decides five minutes of productivity is enough to justify a half-hour social media break, so she tosses her journal onto her pillow before shifting in her bed to pick up her phone and send Niks a quick hi so iseult is my roommate and idk how to like,,,get on with her, what should i say??. In her defense, two weeks isn't enough to get to know her roommates.

She pulled the wipe from one of her eyes, the white sheet now covered in black mascara - her eye didn't look much different. "Had to show a bunch of first years where their dorms were...again..." Another deep sigh, "I shouldn't be getting annoyed but after two weeks? Not knowing where to go?" She looked over towards Avery, "What about you, how was your day?"

Niks isn't replying. Why isn't she replying? Dammit, Niks. Avery bites back a sigh and looks up when Daphne talks to her. "Mediocre. Ran into my brother down at the library," she recounts, shrugging. About Daphne's predicament, she half-smiles, a little more glad she didn't get the role. "Mmm, downsides of being Head Girl. If you take the badge off, it's easier to pretend they don't exist."

"I feel like everyone has brothers...I mean, except for me...I wish I had one..." She quickly wiped the other eye, "Honestly, sometimes I don't feel worthy of the badge - like, why me? I suppose..." She shrugged, "But...I don't know, you don't want to hear me ramble on about my own inadequacies..." She leant over to throw the used wipes into one of the bins, missing and then tutting before dragging herself over to put it in the bin properly.

"You can have mine? I'm not attached to him," she offers innocently. To Iseult, she nods. "Nobody ever asked, plus to be honest, we're not close." Daphne's ramble makes her roll her eyes. She seems sweet, but Avery's pet peeve is insecure women - especially when all the guys around here are as arrogant as anyone can be. "If Headmaster Chevalier chose you, it's because he thought you were better than all the other candidates. Don't doubt yourself. The Head Boy probably isn't, so why should you? Show some confidence - I don't know you well, but you're attractive, helpful, and I'm willing to bet pretty fucking good with a wand, too."

"Tristan's not too bad. He's a dork, but he's my dork." She says protectively. "And don't sweat it. I don't think the job's supposed to be easy. Have you considered deferring responsibilities to the prefects? That's what I would do. Head Girl is more of a manager, and the prefects are the employees. Kick your feet back, let your hair down." She says, about to paint her nails when she sees the look on Daphne's face. ugh, fine. "Want me to paint yours? It's a gorgeous colour."

She'd just sat back down again when Iseult offered to paint her nails, on one hand it was very sweet but on the other...she didn't exactly want to inconvenience her, "Are you sure? Her face softened as she grew a little more comfortable in her room, maybe these girls aren't as scary? Iseult was right, the colour did suit her - the pearlescent polish shimmering in the light, "Wow, this is super pretty, where did you get it?" She marvelled at it a little more, almost giving figurative heart eyes at it.
