Born in Boston with the name Michael Rogers, the kid always enjoyed the idea of being a hero. Learning of his magic despite neither his mother nor father being magic only enhanced that desire. In early youth, he already started to learn basics through trial and error ("Alright, so if I look at that too long it moves a tiny tiny TINY bit, that's pretty cool!").
His school years were simple and passed by quickly. Meeting Kathryn King (a muggle) not long after he turned 19, the two started dating quickly. They were engaged within two months, married the next. Though neither King nor Rogers family was best pleased by how quickly the relationship was moving, Michael and Kathryn couldn't care less.
They were both 21 when their daughter Adriana was born. Happier than ever, the family moved to England for Kathryn's new job. Michael picked up a job in the IT department of some company, being rather skilled with computers and technology in general thanks to his mother. Though not the big career he'd always wanted, combined with Kathryn's pay there was plenty of money in the family to get their little girl what she needed.
Things started going down hill two years later, when Kathryn was diagnosed with Leukemia. Not wanting to trouble their child, Michael claimed that she was simply a little sick, it was just a small cold. He couldn't hide it from her long, and eventually the two of them had to come to terms with the loss of a wife and mother at any moment.
Adriana started to show minor signs of the same magical talents that Michael had, something he'd hidden from Kathryn. A hectic year for all in the family, Kathryn showed fear of the both of them, and died three months later. Grief stricken, Michael took up bad habits. Loosing his job from rarely ever showing up and committing crimes for money instead, he attempted to keep the same profits they had before.
Giving it all up by the time Adriana was soon to turn six, he changed his name to Rhys DeWitt and attempted to dodge both his family and Kathryn's. Moving to a lower part of London, Rhys' personality had drastically changed since the death of his wife. Showing signs of mania at times, he became more irritable. Still loving his daughter, Rhys was perhaps not the ideal father (though he tried).
Supporting Adriana when she got her letter to Hogwarts, Rhys secured a job in the Ministry. Though low level akin to his old job, dreams for power started to blind him. He lacks empathy for most that are not his baby girl, him or the few friends he's managed to collect. More violent tendencies are showing, though all aimed at none in his inner circle.
