Jae is a very charming individual who knows how to sweet talk just about anyone. He uses his good looks and smooth-talking to get what he wants - no magic needed. He's extremely cocky about his intelligence and talent, not to mention how confident he is about his looks. He enjoys flirting and teasing with those around him, but he puts up a harsh front when things get too emotional. He'd rather come off as a jerk than to let you know what he's truly feeling. He also assumes a cold nature when confronted about his family. Despite his carefree appearance, he is very bitter towards his family and still harbors hard feelings concerning them.
On the contrary to his playboy attitude, Jae is very gentle and caring. He enjoys doing nice things for people, but he'd die before showing you that side of him. He cares deeply about his friends, but the closer you get to him, the colder he seems. He puts up walls so that people don't see how vulnerable he truly is. Jae gets his thoughtful nature from his late mother which is most likely why he acts the way he does. He doesn't want a reminder of his mother's death, even if it means concealing his own personality.
Jae-Woo was born on July 7 in Seoul, South Korea to Seong Joon and Seong Jan. Growing up, Jae always felt as if he were living in the shadow of his older brother Hyo. When they would play quidditch, Jae would always try to out-do his brother. In all honesty, Jae was a natural at the game in contrast to Hyo who had to practice constanly to even stand a chance at winning. However, Jae never noticed his brother's efforts as he continued to get better at the game as he grew. In fact, it seemed as if he was destined for the game. When he was only six, he had already made his broom rise and fly on his command. It wasn't easy by any means, but he was determined to be better than his elder.
While their little competition continued, Jan became ill and was hospitalized. She was sick for only a couple of weeks before she passed away, leaving three heatbroken boys behind when Jae was but nine years old. Joon grew cold and distant after his wife's passing and harped on the boys even more now. Soon enough, Hyo grew tired of trying so hard when it was obvious that Jae was better at quidditch - besides, he didn't even want to play quidditch anyway - so he quit and moved out to live on his own.
Wishing for a fresh start, Joon moved with Jae to London where he sent Jae to Hogwarts, a school notorious for its quidditch teams, as soon as he turned eleven. Without the competition of his brother, Jae felt obligated to pursue quidditch with all his heart. However, he now had more time to explore his other interests too. He grew fond of painting, much like his mother. Like her, Jae had a talent for art. He still had his mother's necklace as a memento of her passion and who she was. She'd made it a few days before she became ill. It was the shape of a puzzle piece and had Jae's initials engraved on the back. She had told him that it was okay to still be figuring out where he belonged, just like a piece to a puzzle. It was the last thing she was able to craft, and that meant the world to Jae. Painting was his way of feeling closer to her - that, and the small piece that always hung around his neck.
Currently, Jae was in his fourth year. He continued to both play quidditch and paint whenever he had free time away from his studies. Despite his time consuming activities, he managed to make excellent scores in all of his classes. He made a habit of flirting around, keeping his personality entirely aloof to distract himself from his inner emotions. He'd much rather pretend that everything is fine than to face the pain he really felt. And so that's what he did. He would never let people get close enough to see the real hurt he felt. He'd just make good grades, play quidditch, and be the good son he was supposed to be. But maybe one day, he might be able to be more than that.
