Kim Bongsoon and Song Junpyo were arranged to be wed since they were infants. Because both were pure-bloods and they're families wanted to continue their pure lineage, they never had a choice. At 19, Junpyo had mistakenly fallen for a muggle, who he wanted to run away with. His parents caught wind of the affair, and met with the girl. The next day, she told Junpyo that she didn't love him anymore and moved away. He never saw his love again. The next year, he married Bongsoon. Bongsoon knew what her duty was. She knew she had to be with Junpyo. She never questioned that. Resented him maybe, but she never questioned it. Needless to say, neither individual was particularly happy about the marriage, but they knew their place.
A year after the two married and settled down in Asan, they had a baby boy named Yijung. He was to carry on the pure blood-line. That was a heavy weight to carry for a child. Being born into a Pure-Blood family, Yijung was always expected to be perfect. His parents would always harp on him about grades and practicing different talents he cared nothing about. Bongsoon had him taking vocal and piano lessons, and at least three different language classes. He failed at singing, his vocal coach explaining he had no potential. He failed at piano, he could play original work and modern pieces but not the classical that his mother and father wanted. He failed at one of his language classes, relatively mastering English and Japanese but butchering French. Ultimately, his parents were always disappointed with him.
Yijung felt like a failure who was good for nothing. He had no talent. That's what he thought. It wasn't until he learned to rap that he realized he was actually good at something. It was a good way to express everything he felt, and other people enjoyed hearing it. It was something that truly made him happy. Naturally, his parents didn't approve. They claimed it was a waste of time and a disappointment. Yijung kept at it secretly, hoping they'd change their minds. They never did.
At age seven, Yijung found out that he wasn't a squib. That was one thing he didn't fail at, he guessed. He was at home with his parents, and he had knocked over a vase. It was an accident. His parents didn't care. Junpyo was furious, and made sure Yijung knew it. He was yelling so much that little Yijung burst into tears while also bursting every lightbulb in the house. That didn't make Junpyo any happier. Yijung went to bed with bruises and without dinner that night.
Thankfully, Yijung was moderately intelligent. He did right fine in school at Mahoutokoro, and even made a couple of friends. After school, Yijung decided to pursue his passion in performing (something his parents were furious about). He joined the group Insomnia as the lead rapper under the stage name Nasa after where he was from, and finally found people he didn't disappoint. Now it was just a matter of the group taking off. Maybe Yijung could truly be happy, and maybe he might just make his parents proud one day. If only there wasn't that matter of arranged marriages...
Sure enough, his parents forced him into an arranged marriage with Sunny Lee, daughter of a very wealthy business tycoon and a pureblood. She was actually really nice and maybe in a different life he would've loved her, but his heart belonged to someone else. That was okay though because so did Sunny's. Not even a year into the marriage, Sunny offered to break things off. If she was the one to do it, Yijung would be free of blame and the scrutiny of his parents and hers. Sunny took the hit and begrudgingly their parents allowed the divorce.
Now Yijung's a free man, living out his dream with Insomnia. Seo moved away, closing that chapter of Nasa's life, but maybe there was still someone else out there for him. For right now though, he's just happy to be doing what he loves with the brothers he loves.
