Joey sat in the VIP lounge, sprawled on one of the couches. It was a velvet red but you could barely tell the colour in the dim light. There was a live band playing quietly in the corner (if Joey wasn't mistaken it was jazz, but he was never that good with the different music genres) and waiters moving about with platters full of different concoctions of drinks. Though Joey didn't want too, he got dressed up and was wearing a platinum blue suit with a silver tie that was loose around his neck. He really wanted to be wearing his trackie dacks and a hoodie but not around Theseus. Joey wanted to make an impression around the other guy. He wasn't sure why–Theseus was just a friend. But an important friend, nonetheless, and he didn't feel comfortable slacking around him. Sipping a beer (he hated cocktails), he turned to look over at the actor, "you know, I have high hopes for the movie," he said, "it looks really good." Joey was ready to lay on the compliments for the simple reason that Joey actually meant it. Joey had bought tickets to the premier and everything.

Theseus had accepted the invitation from Joey to go to The Pink Gentleman near instantly, how could he not? Beyond it being good publicity to be seen with the Joey King, Theseus enjoyed the other's man company and wanted to impress him. Whether that desire was on a professional or personal level was up for debate, but it was undeniable that such a desire was there. He was clad in a more casual pair of black skinny jeans and a shirt that was just tight enough to show off how built he was, but loose enough that it wouldn't tear if he decided he wanted to go on the dance floor at any moment. "Thanks," Theseus said easily, taking a sip of the strawberry daiquiri he had ordered, "It's been a pain to make so hopefully it'll all be worth it."

To say Joey's ego wasn't tickled when he found Theseus accepting his invitation as quick as had would have been a lie. However, there was also a small mixture of relief mixed into it as well. Joey hated waiting around and being anxious over rejection that he was glad he got a quick response, even if it might have been a no. He hated the suspense of it all. One might think that sort of thing was left behind in Hogwarts. That waiting around for a text, that 'will he or won't he', game. But it followed you into adulthood. Seeing the daiquiri, Joey frowned. They always looked so pretty but he never liked the taste, it was too sweet for him. Shame, really. No, he'll stick with his beers. "The critics are raving about it. It makes me think I'm about to see the next die hard," Joey said, as a joke. Of course, die hard was an absolute masterpiece of a movie and Joey would stand by it until the end of time.

"People think its massive that a squib's starring in it given the current political climate," Theseus commented somewhat drily, giving insight into how he felt about being labelled as 'The Moviestar Squib' and other incarnations, "I'm just seeing it as my true breakthrough." Taking a sip of his drink again, he laughed a little as he flashed a smile at Joey, "I'm flattered you think it's gonna be a cult favourite that early on."

Joey wasn't going to argue with Theseus. Wasn't going to argue that a squib getting this far in the movie industry is a tremendous achievement. Of course, Joey can sympathise with him. Joey would hate to think his own career is because of, say, his sexuality. Of course, Joey thought Theseus was immensely talented and would have made it to where he is regardless of his magical abilities. However, Theseus proved how squibs were just as worthy of being in their community as wizards were. Theseus just contributed in different ways. "Hey, I have a good feeling about it. And I'm usually right," Joey said with a shrug. "So you would think it distasteful if I were to manage to send a copy of it to our precious minister of magic?"

He wouldn't mind if Joey's prediction came true; it'd give the two of them more time to get to know each other given the amount of interviews he'd need to do. "I kind of have to be, don't I?" Joey asked with a grin. Having recently been promoted to the president of GMN (which sounded a lot bigger than it actually was-there was a small council that helped make all decisions and Joey was too relaxed to become a dictator), he had to keep an eye on all the projects and know which ones were worth it. Most of the time, though, he trusted his producers. However, his true love was his show which he refused to give up. Joey was good enough that he was able to balance it. Sure, he only did the show three nights a week but it was enough. Joey decided not to press the politics conversation. It wasn't the place or time.

"Maybe," Theseus said with a shrug, "I'm sure a lot of people don't care about money though. I wouldn't if it wasn't for the fact that, in this world, squibs find it hard to get work otherwise." Theseus didn't like to talk about his predicament, not much at least. It depressed him and made him feel inferior when he knew he had as much to offer as a magical actor. That was why money, for him, held a bit more importance. "Not really," Theseus said with a shrug, "If this is a breakthrough movie, I might work on my FlooTube for a bit - get that audience a bit more solidified, y'know?"

Joey grunted when he was reminded of Theseus's...predicament, as Theseus called it. Joey always made sure his company was open minded and accepting. Willing to accommodate for those who lack society might call normal. The past few years have really made his blood boil and even now, you could see his face darkening. "Well, regardless of the circumstances, I'm glad you're working with us. We're lucky to have a guy like you," he said, nodding once to himself, very sure of what he was saying. "Ah, flootube! I haven't really paid attention to that platform. I should, it'd be a great place to scope out talent."

Still people would doubt him but, at this point, it seemed to come with the blood status of being a squib. "It really is! "And I suppose it's done well for you?" Joey asked. He knew he was in a better position than Theseus. That if Joey said something off, he'd be much more likely to be forgiven than if Theseus said something wrong in the public eye. Joey, as thickheaded as he acted, was well aware of how difficult it could be for some people in this industry too make it. It's why he's tried so hard to be so welcoming and friendly to everyone he meets. And partly why he kept his job as a talk show host. To ensure everyone and anyone could get a spot and people weren't brushed under the carpet whilst he focused on other things.

Theseus shrugged, "I dunno, can't say if it has or hasn't." He was sure that if he sat down and analysed every single thing that happened in his career then he'd be able to find clear examples on if it did or didn't work but, when he thought about it day by day, he couldn't say that it did. Mika almost didn't notice one of the Di Sena e Bonaparte triplets waving at her. She only did because of the reflection in the window. Snapping the lipstick shut, she turned her head to stare at the man, rubbing her lips together to spread the lipstick out. It took her a moment to figure out he was Eli and not Percy. Not that they were too difficult to tell apart when they were together but it was dark and Mika had never really seen them apart from one another. "Elias," Mika said, using his full name. For someone who shortened her own name, Mika never used anyone else's nicknames. Briefly, her eyes looked around, half expecting Eli to be with someone. Alex, maybe. Teddy or Caera were both good candidates as well. But apparently, Eli was here alone. Or maybe he was waiting for them. "Fancy seeing you here," Mika said, finally smiling. "All alone, too?" Though it was a statement, it was still a question. Maybe, just maybe, Mika would have some company tonight. And if Eli was anything like other heirs to an entire empire, then he would know how to party. Surely. Mika found it was one of the only good things people in his position were good at. However, Mika knew Eli wasn't quite the same. But she could hope.

Admittedly, Mika was one of the dummies that Eli perhaps spent the least amount of time with. Was she intimidating as well? Perhaps. But Eli wasn't worried about that, especially not tonight where he wanted to just drink for hours on end. "Hey Mika," he responded casually, hands moving into his pockets. The use of his full name sounding so formal despite them standing outside of a nightclub, perhaps one of the most informal of places. Mika winked at the first sentence. It certainly would be a sight to see. A rare sight. Of course, she failed to mention that her mother had called her earlier that evening. And...well, there was only so many times you could listen to your own parents calling you a failure, a soulless human being and a slew of other things before you wanted to get wasted. Not that Mika wanted to talk about it. Not that she actually believed what they said was right. Mika was use too it as well. She was just waiting for them to fall along with the Fitzgerald government. It was bound too happen. Her parents had tossed their lot into Fitzgerald's boat far too quickly and recklessly. "Then, Elias, I believe it's only fair to say that whatever happens won't leave this night," Mika said, fixing the collar of his jumpsuit with one hand. If onlookers were to see this gesture, one might think it was romantic. Flirting. However, in reality, it was really more of a threat. With that, Mika brushed past him, fully expecting him to follow her as she pressed a few bills into the bouncer's hand. Mika hated lining up and it was a busy night. Can you believe that even though the ministry is incredibly homophobic, the lgbt club is thriving? Who'd have thought. Taking a quick glance over her shoulder, just to make sure Eli was following, she slipped into the club.

Eli nodded, welcoming whatever was about to come his way. "I completely agree, what happens at this club stays between us." Maybe he was naive, no he was naive, naive to think that Mika was simply fixing his collar out of kindness, after all they were friends. "Absolutely it would, especially because I'm near certain Percy has been to this club so if it doesn't work then Percy really needs to brush up on his gay bars." Eli said jokingly as he made his way through the crowd of people to talk with the VIP lounge bouncer.

And there they go. Mika had a smug smile on her face as she entered the VIP section and her eyes ate it up. It was a lot more...controlled than the public area. Mika could breath and not be forced onto a dance floor where twenty people were pressed against her. "As good as they advertised?" Mika asked.
